You forgot to mention a detail about the Falmer (almost wrote Thalmor) armour. It's called HARDENED Falmer armour, so not only do they have armour, chests, livestock, and huts, but they have different ways to forge their armour.... Are we SURE they aren't sapient still? Edit: okay I should stop commenting before watching the whole video but my point stands!
@@TaikaJamppa You see what we label as screaming could be talking to them. Additionally we only ever see them interact in combat scenarios. It's possible that they talk in clicking sounds that we do not hear. I'm not perfectly versed in the Falmer lore. But iirc it's been established that Falmer can write. If they can write they can probably talk. They are likely sapient. Unless of course the gods curse idea turned them from sapient to non-sapient creatures.
Well the knight paladin from dawnguard said they seemed to be slowly regaining their intelligence over many millenniums, maybe 8 more eras or so and the falmer will become civilized again
You know, I was about to be a grammar nazi with a comment like "sapient? You don't mean sentient?", but seeing several replies using the same term, I googled it and learned a thing - so thanks, UA-cam comment section! I'd always called humans sentient beings, but we're not - the more you know! 🤡

the Snow Elf's armour, when you get Auriel's Bow in the Dawnguard DLC, is VERY unique and looks VERY cool. And the Gloves of the Pugilist are kinda gud.
Gloves of the pugilist are so essential to do any kind of unarmed playthrough. But you actually need to level heavy armor, smithing and enchanting, and then disenchant the gloves so you can put the enchantment onto the best heavy gauntlets you can craft or buy & upgrade. Aaaand you basically gotta be a khajiit to make the most of it lol.
If u use the imperious mod that adds more special traits to each race the setup for khajits and those pugilist gloves and enchanting with it being put on heavy armor omg... I one shot giants at lvl 16 with my fists so lol... also one of the khajit traits is that their unarmed dmg scales with stamina so if u catch muh drift :)
I just got the ancient falmer armor. Its looks awesome. But also just got a full suit of wicked deadric armor ! And I got a vampire robe destruction 15% less to cast. Magika restore 100% . Combine that with krios ( the light armor mask magika regen 100% . A ring 12/15% destruction spell less to cast . And a necklace 80% magika regen ! I have yet to try to try it but I have everything though.
Tunics worth more than actual countries! Vendor: "I'll give you 150 gold for it" And helmets forged by actual gods! Vendor: "eeeeh call it 250 no negotiation"
I've started using a mod called Barrels and Crates, which replaces many of the static barrels and crates with containers that hold random items. The last time I played, I found four pairs of Fine Armguards in a crate at the smuggler den next to Whiterun.
I also love the Falmer heavy armour. And there is an other variant of that one the Falmer Hardened armor which is slightly less protective. In Dawnguard the Hardened Armor was my first encounter with its appearance. It blew my mind (back in 2015 or something) that it could become even better. And ten years later I still play the occasional for old times sake relaxing game of Skyrim (still waiting for ES6) and still get surprised by its content. Man I love the game!
Seeing the longevity of Skyrim I think es6 whenever it releases is gonna be a big release for Bethesda as long as they tame their greed or else it’ll just be another fallout 76 and probably nosedive the company’s already pretty bad reputation
I think you left out one, it's called "Shellbug Helmet" which you can only get by mining the shell off a Shellbug, there is only 2 of them in the entire game and they can be found in the Forgotten Vale (Dawnguard DLC required), If you have the shells, you can craft it at a forge. It has similar looks to a falmer helmet but it's way better
in labyrinthian tribune, there's a dead argonian woman with an ancient Nordic sword, lying beside a chest. on the right side of the word wall, hidden amongst the rocks, there's a skeleton with a much smaller skeleton inside the chest. why was a pregnant woman in a Nordic tomb?
Couldnt find the Argonian, but found the skeleton, atop the rocks with an amulet nearby, but there was no smaller skeleton inside, are you sure it wasnt something from a mod?
@@Balila_balbal_loki Did it today, early morming, and there it was, both the argonian and the tiny skeleton, kinda weird how the USLEEP removes those things, especially the argonian, since the ghosts on the next room mention how they left her behind.
There is a bit of unique piece of armour that I've found that could be worth mentioning. During my latest play through, I had just cleared the dungeon in Deep wood Vale (forgot what it's called but it has the Hagraven that teleports several times after taking some damage) I noticed a bit of land on the northern waterfall with a cliff face that you can scale. Normally you wouldn't be able to climb it when you're right next to it, but at the highest level in the cleared dungeon you can easily reach the climb able cliff face with a level two whirlwind sprint shout. So I did just that and found that you can access the secluded spot, there was an ore vein and a chest. Beside the chest is a pair of hide boots called "Predator's grace" and it has a dual enchantment of muffle and stamina regen. While the stamina regen is a measly 1% the boots themselves are unique that it takes an iron ingot to improve. Just thought I'd mention that.
Um... I don't have any means of sharing videos. I also don't have the necessary equipment to even do it, all I have is my IPad which is what I'm using to commune here. I'm sure Nate will pick up on this and share a video with my find being included.
@@Zerethos well that's understandable. But i will say if you just do a twitch stream and have it save to your twitch channel then you can post it on to your YT that way. There is actually a second falmer chest piece! It can be found on the ground in a small falmer tent right of the door into "raldbthar deep market" from black reach. I just found it a day or so ago while doing the main quest line(:
I have a theory as to why Falmer armor is as good as dwemer armor. Everyone knows that the Dwemer is why the Snow elves turned into Falmer, so my theory is that during the interactions between dwemer and snow elf, the snow elves learned how to craft dwemer armor but as they turned into falmer they no longer had the resources available so they started using chaurus chitin, crafting it using the skills they learned from dwemer armor.
Nazareth I think it’s just so that the falmer stand a chance against dwarves automatons (as they have the same armor rating as a person wearing a full set of dwarven armor)
Correction: The snow elves were always called Falmer. That was their name whilst humans named them snow elves because they lived in skyrim and were elves. The dwemer didn't "make" them into snow elves
Mete Tural I’m not sure that’s true because the snow elf from the dawnguard DLC says he prefers to call them “the betrayed” meaning they were betrayed by the dwemer. The nords that came to colonize Skyrim called them the snow elves and falmer is a name given to the ones surviving during the events of Skyrim
@@jamesshelton1127 well it doesnt make sense if its Altmer, Dunmer, Bosmer, Dwemer, Maomer then Snow Elf. And I read that they are called Falmer so if not that's just Bethesda's shitty writing at work
The ideal "fix" would be to add a separate playable version of the Telvanni robes, with an undamaged female model. But that would be new content, which should be a separate mod rather than part of the Unofficial Patch.
the problem with many of the special armor pieces is that by the time you can get them you've far outgrown them. what i mean is that generally the equipment you are wearing at the time you come across them is WAY better. not just Skyrim but Elder Scrolls in general, this tends to be true. unless you are just speed running past vast portions of the game SPECIFICALLY to get to these armor pieces, you'll likely already have better equipment rendering the special armors pointless, and more of a troll by the developers than anything else.
I like to RP that my character was an appraiser before the events of the game, but one who appraised fenced goods and such as well as unique artifacts, that sort of shadey business explains why you can fight (deals gone wrong etc.) but also explains how you can instantly know the value of something before picking it up.
The slight color difference between Ulfric's Bracers and the Fine Armguards is due to your mods, In base game Ulfric's are silver slightly metallic looking while the Fine Armguards are brown leathery looking.(if i remember correctly Jarl Korir also wears em)
Yeah you would think for videos like this you'd turn mods that affect those kind of things off. But then again, that's if you actually give a shit about the content you produce, not just churn out constant fucking garbage like Nate here.
Just pointing it out when you complete the winter hold college quest you get 2 pieces of rare armor that actually match with one another the mask from the boss with the magnus staff and the arch mage robes which give you a boost of 200% magic regen +50 magika points and %15 less cost to use spell.
Fun fact: you can actually get a full set of falmer armor and a unique shield together. If you go to the forgotten vale forest, there will be a falmer(he’s really strong so watch out)with a full set of falmer armor. But he also has a unique shield called auriel’s shield.
2:10 Actually not the only... There is one more in Blackreach somewhere on the rock in falmer tent. It's near some entrance in other dwemer ruin which can be opened if you have the orb key.
I’d love to don a set of Ancient Falmer armor for, like, a Hermaeus Mora Lovecraftian mage build. Might take a few mods, but I bet it would be a real fun build.
As far as I'm aware, the only piece of falmer equipment you can loot from corpses is the helmet. Mzinchaleft, to my knowledge, is the only way to legitimately obtain *any* piece of falmer armor that isn't the helmet within the base game and DLC's.
For the 'regular set' yeah, I commented that just now, you can loot the 'Heavier set' from higher level Falmer added with the Dawnguard DLC, but the more common set, that's a no go, you can only get the gauntlets, boots and chestpiece from that one spot in a Dwemer ruin behind an expert lock because someone at Bethesda wanted to tease us
Alas: adverb used to express sadness or feeling sorry about something, e.g.: "I love football but, alas, I have no talent as a player.", or "Will you be able to come tomorrow?" "Alas, no."

@TheEpicNate315 There is an equip-able piece of Falmer heavy chest armor that actually has dropped for me under the lighthouse in Frostflow Abyss, and once again randomly on a Falmer that was outside in addition to the piece found in Mzinchaleft and one also in Blackreach.
Perfect touch works if you are behind the npc, aka hidden from them. If they see you, you cannot take their equipped items. I tested this about 3 days ago, though I only noticed then.
I know a place where you can find a second piece of Falmer Armor (but only the chest). Use the Great Lift at Raldbthar and go to Blackreach, then you just need to turn left, climb the stone bridges, and when you see the gate to Raldbthar Deep Market, look to the right and there will be a Falmer hut with the armor inside. This hut can be a bit bugged and you may not reach the armor, but turning into a werewolf may force yourself inside the hut. Alternatively, you can try pushing it with Telekinesis, but it may not work too. This piece of armor will also respawn after a in-game month, like the armor set in Mzinchaleft.
i lowkey hate what unofficial patch made to skyrim tbh 1.) they made grimsever a ONLY greatsword (but in the vanilla it's random one handed or two-handed, but still mystery how to trigger what to get) 2.) they remove the barrel outside mercer's house to make the place unreachable (maybe devs intended to put it there for us to get the chillrend early or without thieves questline) 3.) they remove telvani robes being lootable 4.) they remove the guardian cirlce + atronach spell absorbtion combo, making guardian circle obsolete (maybe this was intended again by devs to make the guardian circle useful, yes it is OP but you need to discover it to use it anyway) i know there is other things i forgot. so yeah
@@joelpierce1453 It's just too bad that the "Ancestor's Wrath" power is about as useful as throwing a used tissue at your enemies. The best races for their powers in the base game are Bretons and Orsimer. Bretons have an okay power *and* a good passive. Orcs have the best power in the game (Berserker Rage is OP as fuck), but no passive. Fire resist is good, but it isn't hard, with a maxed enchantment skill (without exploits), to hit the cap of 85% in two different elements on a single item. Dunmer do look awesome though.
@@GigaflareInNeutral Like I said, they have a good passive. The Dragonskin power is only okay because of how situational it is...as compared to Berserker Rage which is good versus every opponent. That's why I put Bretons and Orsimer as equals as far as racial bonuses in unmodded Skyrim
I feel like this could be fun, but I'd have to find some way to spice up the game, since Stealth Archer is *kinda* one of the more notoriously OP builds in Skyrim, and I haven't gotten super far in any Sneak Archer playthrough I've done... 9:00 ok, now I see. I remember getting Falmer armor in game, so that was confusing for a bit. Also, wouldn't falmer armour be hard to see out of, unless you make your own eyeholes
I think the reason for those two armor pieces (Ulfric & the other you mentioned) being weaker than normal armors would be that they might possibly be ornamental... the concept of armor as being ornamental (rather than protective) is not unknown in Earth's history, I wouldn't be surprised if a little of that idea were incorporated into The Elder Scrolls.

Falmer write and talk - how could they not be sapient?

Rip Necco yup. but you would do a HUGE amount of damage
I use the gloves of the puglist for brawling in the taverns for quests.

I'd swear I looted shellbug armors on Solstheim. Been a while; I'll hafta go back n look

If you enter blackreach from the Raldbthar deep market and turn left, there is a falmer hut near a waterfall. Inside is a falmer chest piece
There is actually a second falmer chest piece! It can be found on the ground in a small falmer tent right of the door into "raldbthar deep market" from black reach. I just found it a day or so ago while doing the main quest line(:
Its not the first time he’s been wrong about unique armor
I think that when you smelt certain things in skyrim they have the same sound as an anvil in Minecraft
why so sweaty Khajiit has never heard of this “Minecraft”. Perhaps it’s other land that Khajiit can trade in
I have a theory as to why Falmer armor is as good as dwemer armor.
That's actually a pretty good theory Nazareth.

I find it kinda stupid the Unofficial Patches patches the Telvanni Armor.
Kinda taking away content.
The ideal "fix" would be to add a separate playable version of the Telvanni robes, with an undamaged female model. But that would be new content, which should be a separate mod rather than part of the Unofficial Patch.
It’s worse than the robes given to you during the tutorial. You weren’t going to use them anyway.
the problem with many of the special armor pieces is that by the time you can get them you've far outgrown them. what i mean is that generally the equipment you are wearing at the time you come across them is WAY better. not just Skyrim but Elder Scrolls in general, this tends to be true. unless you are just speed running past vast portions of the game SPECIFICALLY to get to these armor pieces, you'll likely already have better equipment rendering the special armors pointless, and more of a troll by the developers than anything else.
Fine armguard is equipped by Ingrod Ravencroft
Just pointing it out when you complete the winter hold college quest you get 2 pieces of rare armor that actually match with one another the mask from the boss with the magnus staff and the arch mage robes which give you a boost of 200% magic regen +50 magika points and %15 less cost to use spell.
Fun fact: you can actually get a full set of falmer armor and a unique shield together. If you go to the forgotten vale forest, there will be a falmer(he’s really strong so watch out)with a full set of falmer armor. But he also has a unique shield called auriel’s shield.

I’d love to don a set of Ancient Falmer armor for, like, a Hermaeus Mora Lovecraftian mage build. Might take a few mods, but I bet it would be a real fun build.
I remember when I found the Ancient Helmet of the Unburned, I just left it alone
I love that u keep making vids man, proof that this game will never die
As far as I'm aware, the only piece of falmer equipment you can loot from corpses is the helmet. Mzinchaleft, to my knowledge, is the only way to legitimately obtain *any* piece of falmer armor that isn't the helmet within the base game and DLC's.
For the 'regular set' yeah, I commented that just now, you can loot the 'Heavier set' from higher level Falmer added with the Dawnguard DLC, but the more common set, that's a no go, you can only get the gauntlets, boots and chestpiece from that one spot in a Dwemer ruin behind an expert lock because someone at Bethesda wanted to tease us
I think you can also wear a circlet under the falmer helmet, so that doubles your enchantments on the head!

The Fine Armguards are also on the Ship in the dark brotherhood quest where you kill the Emperor.
RustyRayne Those are the Gilded Wristguards you are thinking of, but they too, are also unique and that is the only place you can get them.
Oh my bad
RustyRayne you’re all good. I get those two mixed up all the time. Easy to do when they both have arm guard in their name.
I lock picked everything on my first playthrough so I found the Fulmer armor didn't even know it was rare
To be pedantic:
Tumblerbane gloves don’t have a unique enchantment.
Fortify lockpick is also on Guildmasters/Nightingale/Thieves Guild gloves.
Perfect touch works if you are behind the npc, aka hidden from them.
If they see you, you cannot take their equipped items.
I tested this about 3 days ago, though I only noticed then.
I still remember the first time I stumbled upon the falmer set, after weeks of speculating where could it be.
Best armor, hide helmet and iron chest plate.
📯📯📯📯📯
2:37 for just a split second I thought you were a really tiny human
i lowkey hate what unofficial patch made to skyrim tbh
1.) they made grimsever a ONLY greatsword (but in the vanilla it's random one handed or two-handed, but still mystery how to trigger what to get)
2.) they remove the barrel outside mercer's house to make the place unreachable (maybe devs intended to put it there for us to get the chillrend early or without thieves questline)
3.) they remove telvani robes being lootable
4.) they remove the guardian cirlce + atronach spell absorbtion combo, making guardian circle obsolete (maybe this was intended again by devs to make the guardian circle useful, yes it is OP but you need to discover it to use it anyway)
i know there is other things i forgot. so yeah

Dark elves are one of my favorite races. There are just so many cases when fire resistance comes in handy, plus they look awesome.
