Nexus 5 boot loop issue repair by replacing the power button. This is the same power button used to fix the nexus 5, Samsung galaxy s3 and s4 with the boot loop issue.
Hey Roy - Thx a mill for this excellant video! Followed it by the letter and got it on the first go. And I'm a beginner and never done hot air soldering before. Kapton tape is a lifesaver!
Hi thanks for the video. I was wondering what temperature are you soldering at? Also what temperature are you desoldering at when using the wick?I'm having trouble melting solder with the smd hot air gun went as high as 470 Celsius.
Hi, 380 should be good enough but not all units are the same. I usually set mine 380-420 because I know my burning point already. You can put some flux to help desolder the old button. Make sure your iron is clean. You can use a damp sponge to clean your iron while it is hot.
Great video, thx for this 1

Thanks bro
Thank you very much for sharing. Can you please tell me what flux you use?
Why did you use wick to remove the solder from the pads just to add solder back on?
How much does it cost such procedures in the shop?

Thankx for sharing, how many degrees are you setting the heater pipe..please???
Jose Torrano I believe my rework station is set at 420F. I use that for most applications because I'm already used to it and I know my burning point.
what is the size of that button? is it the 4mm or 5mm power button?
Which Kapton tape do you use? What thickness ans which mfgr?
But I thought the problem was due to some soldering issue at the chip end. This info is all over internet if you google for Nexus bootloop issue.
That's for the 5x. This issue with the 5 is caused by the power button.
What is that transparent yellow tape all about? Is it heat-conductive? Captain's tape? Can't find it in Google... I tried using aluminum foil.
David Spector it’s called kapton tape
Spray the perfume on the button POWER and blow dry
vitalik kobrin You're a goddamn genius! Totally worked hahahaha thanks!
