I visited LG service center and they said that they will replace the chipset for 6.5k₹. Will this be permanent repair? After that will my device be safe for around 3 years?

okay this is what happened, a few days back every time I touch the power button the cam will activate and then when I close the cam the phone would restart, then one night I put the phone on charge and went to bed but was woken up by the constant vibrating noise coming from the phone so when i woke up i see it booting up to the Google logo and then powering back down and then booting back up, so i switched it off and every since then it wont boot up, its been stuck in the boot loop, i tried clear cache / factory reset / flashed it too but still bricked. any suggestions, i did open the phone and cleaned the power button and circuit board. im partly a techie so you can tell me what to be done i can try or i can send it to you if you share your details. also, i would like to mention when i go into recovery mode i get an error message down below its the same E: Can't mount / cache (invalid argument) E: can't mount / cache / recovery / last install
its related to Emcc chip issue ,this can be solve by replacing with new one or repairing a same faulty chip u need to have a appropriate tools to perform this operation all the best
Is it a temporary or permanent fix. Since i have facing the same problem. Should i just heat or replace the main board. What may cost at the service center if they use your method.. Reply soon

i bro this is manoj i also had same problem.. i heated upto 250degrees about 1min 45sec... it opens and then after 2min its get dead again due to overheating of chip.. and sometimes we get smell to.. how we can cool the chip..
It is the mixture of high-quality alloyed powder and resinic pasty flux , it can avoid the pale yellow residue , so u are easy to clean the board SO I RECOMEND !!!!

Robert Martinez you are completely missing the point. A software update did not cause the problem, the chipset itself was found to be a problem in the nexus 5x. Edit: Before you ask the same question again, I will tell you how I know this. I’ve had my nexus 5x for roughly 2 years and only this week it died (and yes, I had updated to nougat and currently aos 8.0 Oreo, completely stock)

if its poor joint from chipset and MOBO my method will work permanent , if after try same problem persist next option go ahead of replace chipset

I understood just becuase of poor BGA joint between motherboard and chipset , so by doing reflow there are few chances are there to reconnect

1- poor BGA joint
2- Excess of humidity main processor become non functioning
