When I saw the pushbutton, I knew I was in trouble. The video is much magnified, but the button and the contacts are actually too tiny to see. I bought a 60w iron, and this on its highest setting was enough to melt the solder and remove the old button. But I could not see well enough to remove all the old solder (yes, I used flux and copper coax shield). And I could not hold the new button in position to solder it on. I kept trying until the new button was full of flux and no longer worked. Fortunately, I had a second new button, and I tapped it in with the hot iron. I have no idea if it made contact at all or if I short-circuited it (there is a tiny slit between the two contacts of the button and there is solder everywhere). The charging jack fell off out of position, so I've put it back in with a drop of glue. I'll report more after the glue dries and I reassemble the cell phone, but I really doubt it will work. I really needed a giant magnifying lens to see what I was doing. Maybe a person in his 70s should not be trying to do this.

which of the contacts are actually used to complete the circuit, and which is just for mounting the switch to the board?

Awesome video! Very effective method with common tools.
What is the power of your solder iron? I tried with mine (30W) and it did not melt :( . I'll try again by adding more tin like you did.

30 w should be enough. And flux should not be needed. I'm about to try this...

I tried it and made a big mess of a soldering job but somehow, against all odds, it works :) Leave it to the pros if you value your phone is what I say. It's not as easy as he makes it look.

Hello, Bussipysakillah! Thank you for your comment, but let me tell you something: to do it like I did, you have to have experience (enough)& good tools (essential). If you do not have that, you ll do a bid mess!!! Best regards

I bought mine cheap from Amazon.com. Just search there for it. It comes in a tiny pouch with two tiny pushbuttons. You might need the second one someday.
