Holy f***! This was the only actual thing that worked! In my case, nexus 6P, had to download an Oreo 8.1 OTA and then do the process. ADB device wouldn't be recognized but then i switched USB port to 2.0 (was using a 3.0) and then it recognized it. In case anyone is having similar issue! Thanks!
Thanks for the USB port 2.0 catch. That worked for me to get the phone serial# in list devices option when using command "adb devices". After that, I installed the .zip file of OTA 8.1.0 successfully. I got the message on PC command prompt and my Nexus 6P of successful completion. Finally, I did the "Reboot System now" option from "Recovery mode". Still, It is going to the reboot loop mode. And is not going to the next screen. Any help is much appreciated.

Worked like a charm! Was installing custom ROM and somehow OEM unlocking got disabled and it was soft-bricked. Doing this got me back into the OS and was able to save the device.
I've a 6P in a bootloop, but it will not go past the google sign. It'll go into the boot menu, but will not enter recovery mode. The power button isn't stuck. any idea how to fix it?

Got it to work on Angler in 2021 by restoring backward then sideloading forward. No cores disabled. If you still get the boot loop re-enter the recovery menu and choose "mount system" to remount your update. Should boot.

Okay for people who care - doesn't look like you can sideload a previous OTA package (got an error stating - (can't install this package on a newer build). So I am now trying sideload the current version.

Hello, I have pixel 2 xl updated to latest Android 10 with March security patach. My phone's battery was drained and I charged it to full while in switched off mode. Now my phone is stuck on bootloop. How should I start it without loosing all the data. PLEASE HELP
This Nexus 7 is a tougher nut to crack than expected. I can't format it, can't sideload builds, can't do anything without getting the dreaded "can't mount cache" error. Yes, even trying to wipe the cache partition ends in disappointment. So should I presume that the flash storage inside the system is faulty?
Does NOT work with Nexus 6p. I just tried it still boot looping. Probably best thing to do is ask Hauwei or google for a new phone and hope you are still covered by warranty. This is a HARDWARE issue not software so placing new software will NOT fix it.

go to the folder you have the platform tools and launch powershell/cmd from there by holding shift and right clicking. OR add the boot short cut for the adb in system path via advanced settings.

Nexus5x just crashed after updating to Oreo (stable not a preview). Problem is at the moment there is no newer version than 8.0 (sigh)

I have TWRP and when I go to unroot/soft brick (I have no OS installed), it's still stuck at Google logo after the scripts and everything finishes up.
