I hope you guys enjoyed my story! I made this video to be shown at a benefit my grandparents held in August, and it made an impact I never expected. My goal is to continue educating the world on burn survivors & inspire those who have been through the same experiences. Follow me along my journey and you'll see how different life is, but also how it never changed!

Hi everyone! Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and listen to my story. It truly is so amazing the amount or love & support yall have 💛 james is doing really good! He was unfortunately burned worse mainly because he was holding the container and closer to the barrel. his healing process is going amazing, & he continues to grow and heal every day. I try not to give out too much information because i want to respect him and his family's privacy. everything i say about him is with his permission! again, thank you all so much💕
Love you and your tik toks!

Great example of how strong you can be when strength is your only choice.. 😩

You'd be shocked at the response your body can have when it turns into a fight or flight situation. Thank God she knew what to do. ❤️
It's not about smarts. She just has really good instincts that kicked in well in the situation she was put in.
@Frances Santiago she isn’t a dog-
I too was in the Vanderbilt Burn ward Dec12,2019. You were down the hall from me. The nurses told me about you and James....and I prayed so many times for you both. Those nurses .... I want you to know how much they cared about you. I would ask them how you were doing and I could see it in their eyes how special you are. You inspired me to get up and go on with life and accept my scars, my new normal. God has blessed us so much. I am so happy to finally see "the girl down the hall" and know you are just as beautiful as I imagined you to be. ❤️
*That's so sweet that you heard about her♡*
Nurses can’t tell you anything about other patients so either you’re lying or incriminating your nurses
@@notakkkmember1000 it really is cool to finally know who these 2 are. I would get up and walk around ....do laps around the ward to aid my healing. I never peeked into other patient's rooms because it felt ....idk....just wrong. I think God answered my prayer....and then some. 😊
@@atomicplaygirl66 That's great!
@@koripaganucci6227 she said she could see it in the nurses eyes how much they cared. There wasn't anything I read that incriminated the nurses. I'm sure the whole hospital an surrounding communities were talking about what happened. Not to mention it was on the news. I believe it would be illegal only if the nurses divulged personal information about the patients but I'm sure they couldn't help but Express a amount of concern an luv in their faces. Try not to be so harsh.
Damn.. the fact that she was able to think like “don’t open your mouth so the gas and smoke don’t get in your lungs” and “keep your eyes closed so the gas and flames don’t get it” all while on fire.. is amazing. I’d probably have been freaking out and completely unable to think period. That’s strength.
That’s what I was thinking. She had some amazing crisis management in that moment.
Yeah how can you possibly keep your head and think straight during that?
Its adrenaline. I was very close to car accident and in 1 sec. I could chose one of many options to avoid it. After that i couldt belive how its posible to think logical that fast

Yep, especially with fire and flammable liquids. So many people don't really understand petrol and other fuels - it's not the liquid itself that's burning, it's the vapour. Horrifically dangerous to pour fuel onto any naked flame, as these poor kids found out. Much better education is needed on fire safety and the dangers of handling fuels/flammable liquids so that awful accidents like this don't happen.

Me and my dad were having a bon fire in the back yard and he put some gasoline on it and as I was walking back it exploded causing my pants and jacket to catch on fire. I threw off my jacket and ran inside the house my mom pushed me back outside and my dad tackled me and pulled off my clothes, while in the process he burned his arm. those scars were apparently not enough to cover your beauty, just wow...
Her beauty is too powerful ugh we love a queen
fr 🥺🖤
Her beauty is too strong to be hidden 🥺💖✨
I was trying to think of how to say exactly what you did without sounding like I was "just saying that to be nice". Thank you for putting into words exactly what I was thinking. She really is very pretty and there is so much kindness in her beautiful eyes. I hope she is still doing well and that James is continuing to get better!
Stop the cap
Gentle reminder guys Gasoline is Different from Kerosene. if you want to set fire use kerosene not Gasoline.
Just curious... why?
@@vcassol6989 I think it’s because gasoline is explosive and kerosene is flammable and won’t explode.
@@MrRyan6262 thank you!
Gasoline puts off combustible fumes. Kerosene doesn’t. You can see gasoline fumes in the summertime while you’re pumping gas.
I'll just stick (see what i did there) to lil' twigs and make a fire that is safe istead of using flamable fluids. Also more fun and rewarding that way.
The amount of support you had from everyone is so amazing, I'm crying tears of happiness for your recovery and strength through it all!
Your story touched my heart. You have such grace and such resilience. May you always be blessed in everything you do, because you thoroughly deserve wonderful things, you're a true warrior & i'm rooting for you.
Wow. I had almost the exact same thing happen when I was 14. I was also burned in a fire involving gasoline. 40% burns; face, neck, chest, stomach and arms. Minor burns on my back. How you described everything, so real and similar to how I describe my experience.
It has been 18yrs since I was burned. The first year was the worst but trust me, it gets better. So thankful to my medical team, my scars are barely visible now. If you ever need to vent, here for ya!
If you don't mind me asking, how did you shower afterwards? When I get small burns from the oven, it hurts like hell. I can't imagine having it on 40% of my body.
So glad you are still here with us☺️ you’re so strong❤️
@@tdbsiddhbhedk457 I'd imagine you dont, honestly. Your skin would need to heal, water will take any protective healing layers off I'd assume.
@bOuLeVaRd oF bRoKeN dReAmS I have never thought about it before but maybe.
@@tdbsiddhbhedk457 it was pure torture. First “shower” was me laying on a table that had holes in it, they kinda lowered it into a tub and literally scrub debris and dead skin off. Actual showers were terrible for months. I had one amazing nurse who would actually get in the shower with me and she would count down with me before she started scrubbing. I showered twice a day for awhile, full dressing change. First few months I spent 3-4hrs a day showering and dressing changes.
This brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so much for sharing your story so openly. I’m so happy you have such a wonderful support system giving you all the love. You’re absolutely beautiful inside and out. 🧡
🤣
@@user-bv2jy8jz2m not sure what’s so hilarious to you. Have some respect
@@sydneygracex they've put that on a lot of the comments
I agree it's not funny though
@@user-bv2jy8jz2m what's so funny?
Isn’t she gorgeous!🌺
You are such a beautiful being, nobody deserves this! I will pray for you to heal, God bless everybody 💕
You made me cry 🥺 you’re so sweet, and beautiful inside and out, may God bless you 💕🙏🏽
So I just bawled my eyes out. What a strong, incredible woman she is.
Bless your heart. Your strength and courage is everything! I’m 34 but hope I can be half as brave as you one day!
Beautiful lady!
Stories like yours bring peoples lives like mine into perspective. You show us all the power of never giving up. Thank you!
Feeling no pain is usually worse than feeling pain, because often that means that you got burnt so bad that the nerves in your skin got burnt aswel which is why you don’t feel anything. You were so brave staying calm and how you remembered to roll in the grass instead of run around and closing your eyes and mouth. Such a strong person ❤️
That can be true, but don't also forget the power of shock. Shock is crazy and can temporarily suspend any feelings because it is allowing the human body to react to the situation first. It's an evolutionary survival tactic, which in Natalie's case definitely helped as she was still able to focus on what she had to do rather than the pain of the situation.
@@oreninja exactly! Shock can do crazy things!
@@oreninja yes shock, I broke my arm and felt nothing but was crying because I thought that it look unfixable and the doctors were going to amputate it. Lol
On the other hand, my sister burned her hand (no pun intended) severely from a grease fire from a malfunctioned stove and felt pain.
I had a very similar accident. My ex boyfriends brother poured paraffin onto a fireplace which exploded and set me completely on fire. I was full conscious throughout and it was the most painful & distressing experience of my life. I also felt the same focused calm in putting the flames out. I was completely on fire - but luckily the 3 layers of clothing on my upper body saved me. My legs were badly burnt and 2nd-3rd degree. My one hand was badly burnt and in the most pain from all the exposed nerves. I wish more people knew fire and fuel safety.
The amount of quick thinking you had in this situation is amazing. Also, girl, don't feel bad for getting hurt. This was a bad bad accident.
Seeing this years later, i am so impressed and amazed by how strong you two are. I hope that your journey leaves you with joy. I cannot imagine being in your situation, but i amamazeed at how ell you worked through it. This is a beautiful story. Love you!!💕
Nothing and nobody can steal how genuinely beautiful you truly are Natalie. For all you’ve been through, your beauty and strength shines like diamond. 💎 God bless you girl. Always. ❤️💔❤️
OMG the card that said “my Christmas wish is for my sister to come home” that broke me 💔😞
I know right? :C
wait i’m pretty lost, what happened to her sister?
@@creamsock8954 She is the sister. I am pretty sure her younger sister wrote that in regards to wanted her to come back home. Hope that helped :)
That made me tear up so much too! Such a sweet and thoughtful sister!
