Ellie Ridgeway let me tell u the pain hurts sooooooo fn much and the scars will never go away it’s been 3yrs since I got burn and I just had my 2nd surgery on it 2 months ago and I still have to go to the doctors for checkups
Man, I kinda wish the kids back in my day were like that around me (I am a childhood burn survivor haha). I think the kids of this generation today are really so much more aware of what's around them.
I just discovered these "Kids meet" videos and I find them amazing! They help kids to understand and accept differences, learn about "exotic" professions, diseases, fate, etc. These kids will certainly live without prejudice in the future. I think this "Kids meet" idea should be brought to school in a larger scale to help reduce prejudice in general.
RioMuc I agree! I love them! I saw one where a little boy cried from empathy for people who had been put through some terrible experiences, when he was talking with someone who had CAUSED the pain. And then he was also empathetic toward her! “It must have been hard to realize you did wrong for so long and hurt so many people.” It’s really wonderful to see how kids react to these things. Some are light hearted and good to watch for a boost and others really make you think. I have a playlist for my mom (another lifelong learner type like me) and had several of these videos in it because they’re wide ranging and really offer some insight as how to how kids would deal with certain things confronting them. Love it! So, I agree, and welcome to the channel!! It’s great! I hope you and yours stay safe during the crisis. 🌷
As a burn survivor, this means a lot to me. Its been 7 years since my accident, and I am just now starting to learn to love myself. I love seeing people like me in the media. It makes me feel less alone. Thank you so much for making this video.
Wow! I may not be a burn survivor but I have had a few bad accidents with hot stoves but I’m glad you aren’t feeling alone anymore! Just know there are lots of people out there like you! I hope you are doing well right now best of wished from me
Because we live with that everyday our whole life. It's a long journey but all of us learn to talk about it as about a normal thing. Just like you have a nose and hands and toes we have scars. I wasn't burnt by fire, but a hot water but the scars just look the same in the end haha.

Honestly, tears are flowing right now! I am a burn survivor, 16 years out! I this burned on 60% of my body and have had 69 or more surgeries! This is the best thing I have ever seen! Burn survivors are sometimes considered "monsters" or just throw aside in society. It's so heartwarming to see this. I've wanted to see something like this for years!! This is so amazing. I love answering kids questions, that's my favorite convos! Thank you for doing this! And bringing awareness to burn survivors!
Totally agree with what you have said. I am also a burns survivor and I love chatting with kids. They come out with the most honest questions and make me totally lol. Love and light to you. Shell xx
I’m also a burn survivor I’m only 13 and it happened when I was 5, it burned over 45% of my body. If you look up Dallas Ridings on the internet that’s me. I have also had 69 surgeries
yeah he was compassionate. But did you notice how the burn victim was a little uneasy talking to him because he knew the kid was just trying to be nice? I'm sure the guy appreciated that the kid has a good heart but I think the nicest thing you can do for somebody with that kind of physical affliction is not let it bother you or cloud your judgement
On my tenth or eleventh birthday I was going to a hotel, but there was a fire near my house that spread from California to Nevada. What I was most proud of is that none of the houses got burnt down even if the fire was an inch away from burning it. The firefighters did such a wonderful job that after the incident, people put up signs thanking the firefighters for their service. We should pray to firefighters much more often because we don't pay much attention to what they really do unless we're involved. Thank you for your service.

schildkröte Well of course people who go through something extreme are going to be traumatised, but laughing about your problems or something that you went through doesn’t mean they’re still traumatised. Guy: My watch got burned in in a fire Kid: Did you have a receipt Guy: lol no sadly 😞 Also same kid: Did any of your friends get burned too Also guy: yea 3 of my buddy’s didn’t make it 😥
I’m a burn survivor. My story is that when I was around 18 months old I pulled a cord and boiling water fell all over me. For about a year and a half I had a horrible recovery but it worked out in the end. I was able to avoid facial scarring and I only really have scarring on my neck, some small spots on my arms, and a skin graph on my leg. It’s been 15 years since that, and over time I’ve learned to accept them and I’m proud to be who I am. But most importantly I’m glad that I’ve been able to live my life the way I have. I’m so fortunate to have things turn out the way they did. It’s amazing to see people share their stories. Thank you so much for sharing his!
I'm so glad to hear you've survived and learned to accept them. Those scars don't say anything about who you are, I'm sure you are a great person, don't let anyone tell you different!
Me neither until they zoomed in on his forehead. He looks really good for what he's been though. More importantly than his outward appearance he is beautiful on the inside and so strong to carry on with suffering so much himself and losing his three friends.
I remember being a young kid and seeing a burn survivor and being traumatized. This lady had rough skin, one arm, one nostril, and one eye. Being a five year old girl I was scared thinking she was a monster or something. I am now eleven and going into middle school. This video helped me remember that and rethink it in her point of view.
He seems really nice and he is a hero thank you Daniel for being a firefighter you risked your life dor others and that is a crazy thing to do and even think about
There was a burn survivor on my bus in middle school. She always sat in the front behind the bus driver. One morning I was looking for a place to sit and she offered for me to sit next to her. I was always a loner so I was naturally nervous but I sat next to her. We ended up clicking and I would sit with her every morning. She was super sweet. She never explained what happened to her and I was too scared to ask. Later I found out she was saved by her brother, another burn survivor in my school
I’ve gotten a 3rd degree burn on my hand, I agree with when he was saying at first it doesn’t hurt, I was literally shaking my hand around and laughing 😂 But then after... GURL.
camila ugarte That’s because a third degree burn is severe enough to damage the nerves in your hand so that you don’t feel pain while it’s being burned.
I got really severe third degree burns on my legs(bad enough to need skin grafts) and I was about ten when it happened and all these adults were freaking out around me and I legit tried to prove that I was okay by standing up and walking and everyone was like nOOO I honestly didn’t even realize it was so bad because I didn’t really feel it lmao
I don't understand how the US forest service can legally terminate him afterwards and not pay for the treatment. The way health insurance is dealt with in America is so wrong. In Europe this would be a work accidence which the employer would have to pay.
Could you maybe try one of these with a kid with type one diabetes? My little sister has it and there’s a lot of misconceptions about it that her classmates don’t understand and I think it’d be good to raise awareness about it.
I burned my finger yesterday and I cried- I cant imagine the pain this man went through. and he has such a positive attitude abt it. He seems like he would be a good friend :)
JamesCreates they do deserve respect but in my opinion I think the army, marines and people who serve our country and keep us safe deserves a LOT more respect than firefighters but people who keep our country safe from any harm or bad people deserve lots of respect no matter what
These kids are learning lessons that they can never learn at school. Valuable and long lasting lessons at that. Schools need to learn from this channel and incorporate Q&A like this in their curriculum
This guy is my hero. The way he speaks has shown me that he is a very strong & positive person that got over a horrible incident and stares at life like something to be thankful about. Thanks, man
Geez hope i have that kind of a story. I'm a burn survivor to but my story is i got burned 60% of my body because i was playing around a pail of boiling water when i was 4 yrs old. Then i accidentally tripped in to the pail. 15 yrs later and i am still suffering from my stupidness.

GURL.
camila ugarte That’s because a third degree burn is severe enough to damage the nerves in your hand so that you don’t feel pain while it’s being burned.
i’ve gotten almost a 3rd degree burn on my neck from a curling iron. it started to bubble and i almost got sent to the hospital
Sydney Labus 😬please stay safe❤️
camila ugarte I think it was a lot different than your situation.
Dancer27tds I thinks that’s a great idea I know so little about diabetes and would love to know more about it and to know how you know you have it
Dancer27tds omg i have type one also.....go type one's
I've always wanted them to do a video in it! I'd totally volunteer but I'm not in America...:(
Dancer27tds my best friend drew has diabetes type 1 they definitely should of that
This comment made me cry a little, your a good sibling.
I burned my finger yesterday and I cried- I cant imagine the pain this man went through. and he has such a positive attitude abt it. He seems like he would be a good friend :)
Talbot is so nonjudgmental. His parents are raising him and his sister right.
Christina which one is he boo? x
The male twin.
Sarah Jasper There are two sets of boy/girl twins, Talbott is one of the blond ones :)

oh my
Firefighters need a pay raise
YT LG i agree, so many of them are just volunteers too
I'm literally giving full respect on the people on the show educating and showing the kids and being brave enough to share their stories.
Bless these kids. My father died in our house fire back in 2012... Miss him every day :(
Alyssa Murphy I’m sorry for your loss ❤️❤️❤️
Alyssa Murphy is this a loss?
Firefighters deserve all the respect in the world.
JamesCreates they do deserve respect but in my opinion I think the army, marines and people who serve our country and keep us safe deserves a LOT more respect than firefighters but people who keep our country safe from any harm or bad people deserve lots of respect no matter what
I was literally just looking for a video I haven't watched yet lol
LOL SAME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SaMe
😊
Same!!

This gentleman was amazing. God bless him. The kids did great as pure children can do. T
This series is beautiful. Education and exposure to different people is so important
These kids are learning lessons that they can never learn at school. Valuable and long lasting lessons at that. Schools need to learn from this channel and incorporate Q&A like this in their curriculum
Sometimes I hate UA-cam ads. There was literally an ad for a fire place at the beginning of this video....
Wow.
Oof
The company who did the add did it on purpose UA-camrs don't decide what kind of adds go on their videos
@@mrforest6404 Bruuhhh
Same as me lol
This guy is my hero. The way he speaks has shown me that he is a very strong & positive person that got over a horrible incident and stares at life like something to be thankful about. Thanks, man
Wathing a video like this makes me realize how fortunate I am, I think he was very brave to come and talk about his traumatic past.
What a hero, sad that his friends couldn’t make it, like him. 😥
It's amazing how the questions the kids made really showed concern about his health, not just curiosity. They're really emotionally intelligent.
Marce Rieti and that's what really matters nowadays ❤
I can’t imagine this happening. God bless him and his cheerful attitude after what he endured .
"Did you have the receipt?" Justin with the important questions. 😂
My uncle was a burn survivor but he recently passed away RIP
Sorry to ask but did He passed away days later or the same day(u dont have to respond if its emotional or uncomfortable)
RIP
Aw i feel bad
God bless you
i send my regards to your family.
Jeremy Parker luckily you're still alive. Be strong and confident:) god bless you
I feel you on that. You can't think about what you had. Just what you have now.
You weren't stupid bud, most four year olds wouldnt know better either.
Jeremy Parker you were only 4
