Hi. Thank you so much for sharing my story and to everyone for leaving the kind comments on here! Also I just wanted to clear up some things, the way the video was edited makes it seem like my ex broke up with me the same night of the accident but that was not the case, it was a few weeks after and it was more complex than what many people assume - yet, it is irrelevant as that is not the focus of my story as I still respect the person he was in my life, instead I share my story in hopes of educating, helping and empowering others. Also, I understand that oil and water do not mix and yes, it is an irrational choice in a time of extreme panic, and I have paid a huge price for it. I do not blame anyone for it, and I share so that others may learn from my mistakes as well. Thank you to everyone again and I am deeply humbled and grateful for all the kind words.

As a former RN and now retired, I working in Critical Care and have to say it was negligent for the hospital staff in the Emergency department not to make you are #1 priority for an admission, Covid or not. The surgeons you have had for all the operations you have had are excellent considering the deep burns you did have and the grafts done. It is amazing to me how you didn't have injury to your eyes with partial or permanent loss of vision. I wish you well with your continued studies. This almost happened to my wife (then my gf). My wife and I was in the room watching a movie, then suddenly our cat goes under the bed and then we smell smoke. We go into the kitchen to see what's going on. The pot was on fire! there was a lot of oil in the pot so it was a huge fire. My wife was obviously panicking and started to fill water in a bowl about to throw it into the pot and I screamed, NOOO! thinking back at all the videos that I've watched that taught me oil and water don't mix! Stopped her immediately. I took a cutting board near by and covered the pot, simply sliding it in from the side. The fire went out immediately. In the aftermath, the entire kitchen wall was black and the microwave above the stove melted. But no harm was done. I saved my wife, our cat and the apartment that day yet it's treated like a normal day in the past... oh well.

I actually couldn't even tell. I thought she had acne.. She's beautiful. I wouldn't have even paid attention.. I cannot imagine the pain she went through, Omgosh this poor lady..
I'm so glad that she got to see the low life that her ex is before she spent anymore time with him.. Trust me, there are guys out there that wouldn't see the burns and only see the amazing person that you are..

Maybe he felt the same way and that's why he left. He probably was delaying with his own emotional stress because of his role I the situation. Like guilt. I cant even imagine 'destroying' a lover's beautiful face. She still looks beautiful but during the healing period she mentioned how gross it would get with pus and even showed some of the dead skin peeling off. Not many people can handle seeing these things first hand or physically care for people dealing with this.

I'm in my 30's and I had a similar facial injury when i was 14. I truely admire your courage and respect you for putting yourself in such a vulnerable position to help educate the ignorant public out there when there is absolutely no reason to. You probably dont need to hear this but I just wanna let you know when you get to my age, life gets better and all those insecurely fades away. I had no help, no therapy i climbed out of the hole myself and so can you. Time and valuable life experiences heals all wounds. Please continue to embrace life, its amazing

His future partners will never know.
