- The New Maruti Suzuki Baleno seems to be Maruti's trump card against other hatchback's in the market such as the Hyundai elite i20, and the Honda Jazz. Built as a new platform, the new Baleno aims to heat up the premium hatcback segment. Here's a quick first drive review of the car.

I never do any comments for auto reviews but your video has forced me to do. PD review is distinctively unique and ahead of all other Indian Auto Shows. No chit-chats, No stammering, Great Presentation, Great Audio & Video work. Kudos to you people. I have already subscribed. You deserve it!

+PowerDrift First, let me say that you guys are doing a good job in reviewing cars and motorcycles, good work as always. I think the styling of the front grille could have been done better. In my personal opinion, the i20 Elite still looks much better. I agree that the interior and exterior design of the Maruti has improved. Keep giving us the reviews.
I have a suggestion to make...
I think you should reduce the volume of music, especially the bass note in your reviews. I don't know whether it will appease every viewer, but avoiding music while you are describing or talking would be welcome, in this video, the bass note was interfering with your explanation in some parts of the video.

Why do we see LED DRLs flickering in the video? Any electronic reason behind it?
Cuz slo mo. Drls always flicker, just our eyes can't make it out.
Great video guys. Awaiting a comprehensive review for figo and baleno.. To me the Baleno looks somewhat like the Merc A class from the rear section

Aha! So TenHut is back... Super. I have a question. Most Maruti cars are going lighter. I think many other brands are also taking the same track for the sake of the Indian mentality - kithna detha hai. But aren't good cars known for its sturdiness? I thought stronger and heavier cars offer more safety and stability. Though these lighter cars come with airbags, how efficient are the airbags when a car's door gets a dent even by a fist punch? What's your opinion sir?
Light doesn't mean necessarily mean unsafe. The structural rigidity is what we should be looking for. And yes we agree, airbags et all won't help if the shell crumbles like a tin can, but then do remember that the Baleno is a global platform too, we are hoping to see its NCAP ratings soon.
What about the quality of the metal sheets and chassis? Is it very filmsy?

@PowerDrift ... Its indeed a grate effort from Maruti to offer 2 air bags and ABS as standard on all the variants of the Baleno. Car Manufacturers in India do not give importance to the safety of people but give importance to all the goodies inside it ..... Its really a good gesture by Maruti Suzuki to offer safety features and hope the other car makers will also follow the trend. Cheers ....

how about the cooling capabilities of the Baleno..
[especially keeping in mind the hot and humid weather condition in India...]
I personally had very very bad experience with my family members literally sweating at the back seat...
so hows baleno fit in here....

@ Power Drift can u make the video of Baleno push start stop button, how is it works, is there any drawback of Push start stop button, how car will start during road trip if remote key battery will dead.

Loved your presentation. I am waiting for a comparo between i20 elite and this car, and may be Jazz thrown in into the mix.
Now, I need a suggestion. The price difference between Zeta and Alpha trim of diesel varient being over 70K, is the projector headlamp, rearview camera and infotainment system worth the difference? How much extra would it cost if at some later date the projector headlamp and rearview cam is installed on the Zetta trim?
+Arpan Bhowmik It would be convenient as an OEM . True that after-market additions can suit your tastes better and might even turn out to be cheaper. But you risk losing your warranty.

I think I will have to ask at Nexa. But, I am apprehensive what kind of premium experience they are going to make me feel, and whether it would turn out too costly! ;) I usually hate sales people hovering over and trying to feed more that what I need. Haven't met anyone yet who have bought from Nexa. Given how popular S-Cross had been it was not any wonder.

Hello PowerDrift Team! Which is best to buy in terms of features, ride quality,city usage and comfort Baleno Alfa or S Cross Alfa 1.3?
+Vicky Patel have test ridden both and was facing the same dilema. S cross alpha has much better interior hands down due to leather upholstery and seating arrangement. S cross seems to be a family car while Baleno seems to be youth oriented.
I just wana know if baleno is compared Maruti Suzuki Swift then which one is the best?

The DRL's (Daytime running lamps) are only available in the top end variants of both petrol and diesel i.e Alpha 1.2 and Alpha 1.3.

I ll go for baleno petrol version but the practical milage of this car is around 12-13 in city and highway.. is it really true..

FINALLY! I've been really looking forward to seeing Tenhut back.
The car looks nice with DRL's etc, but from the D Pillar looks a bit awkward IMO. Kinda reminds me of the Datsun Go.
