Good effort by Suzuki to keep hold of its big market share in its only market (everywhere else Suzuki is a silent player)
I am pretty much sure about Maruti Suzuki messing up with this beautiful design and making it up a sub 4 metre tin box.
I simply can't wait to watch a comprehensive review of this car.. coz dis one luks promising for maruti.. eagerly waiting for d launch.. 😊
Amazing looking car. Much better than swift in terms of exterior,interior, backseat space and large 355 litres boot is the USP.
+Prannay Singh you have to pay for it. this is different segment car than swift. swift is better than alto, baleno is better than swift. city is better than swift, jetta is better than city, passat is better than jetta, bmw is better than passat...

look at alloys, paint and windshields, very impressive and looks original and now look at indian models, cheap allows and all other materials.
would also love to see a "active" version of the baleno

This is what swift should have been to compete with i20
+Swapnil Adhav swift is good enough and I think better than baleno already. swift could be no.1 if they had a bit longer wheelbase and some bootspace.

+Dhaval D agree but overall look wise, swift is more appealing than this baleno. specially from front view. it has a character and eyes stick few seconds more on it. however, new baleno looks better than pathetic s-cross at least.
I think the swift looks pale in front of i20 and jazz. Baleno will compete against them and swift has surely lost its flare
***** I would still vote for jazz though. Hyundai has some high speed stability issues and also the blue lighting in the cockpit looks a bit cheap

Baleno is classic car to good looking interior design power more comfortable more space good driving.
there are abs+ebd + dual airbags as standard !!! whereas in i20 u got 1 airbag at a tag of 8.5 lac ... its first time maruti considering safety!!

Didn't find so called good looks in this car, but sure will be a value for money car if launched in India.
Many features will probably not be there on the Indian versions.
Maruti-Suzuki must also give priority to safety o and at the least give the same body shells that go into the European models.
Ironic that this example is produced in India but will not be available to Indians in the same specs or standards.
The Govt must bring in crash test norms at the earliest to ensure a minimum standard of safety even if cost goes up a bit.
Why are they delaying the boosterjet engine ?

Rajinder Singh So plz dont just judge the car by what others say, even they have not seen the car, i own the new honda city diesel top end model, and my best friend owns the Ciaz diesel top model with touchscreen, The cabin is much more luxurious and well built then the new city. i have owned every Generation of honda City but the latest one would be my last.

no way that hatchback will have all that features when its launched in india...so much difference back then in swift of india and the one in the european markets
I will go with the Honda jazz still , it offers a luxury of the city and a lots of practicality in the cabin. interior of baleno are still the maruti"s hopeless tradition the same interiors like the swift series, ertiga and the a car called crossover the ridiculous s-cross.
I am hoping Baleno is gonna make a great comeback.
Its look like a Hyundai on video and photo...but up close it has a strong muscle element to it. Its huge and sturdy looking. Enough space under the hood to fit a small block V8 and a turbo or supercharger.....with a 3 inch lift, and 215 to 275mm wide tyres...this should be the binb

The front fascia turns out to be far better than what the spy shots suggested. Even the side profile looks pretty decent. I liked the Punto-esque wing mirrors mounted on the doors. But the rear is a disappointment, just too much chrome and tail-lights looks like they are lifted out of A Star. Central console looks tacky and the buttons, especially those on the doors, look as cheap as ever.

Eagerly waiting for this one. Even tough, Elite i20 and Verna is there with loads of features, the practical problem what me and my family faced was because of the new fluidic design, the rear seats feels sunk creating motion sickness. The straight design feature and a lot of area in the rear windows of Baleno could eliminate those issues and its sub 4mts design and if competitively priced would be a run away success.

If only they could benchmark with the A class merc or VW beetle.
Read somewhere it has a ground clearance of 120mm. This will be a bummer on Indian roads then. Atleast 165 - 170mm is a must unless you don't feel bad when your car scrapes the bottom every now and then.
+MrHammy044 This is the showcase version. Even if 120mm were true, Maruti will make changes before bringing it to India. Remember that you are talking about a brand who has plenty of experience with tuning suspension for Indian roads.

And the interiors are still rough enough to file your nails, I mean look at the headlights, how many cars are they going to paste these, swift, ertiga and now this.

With such a Hopless engine option I think It ll creat a own segment !!!!!!!!!But any way Good review!!Nd id laike to Add those Gorgeous lookin DRLs aint gonna make it to india sadly those are the only things which are lookin Substantial in the whole car exterior ! Int Is looking good with the bits copied from Hyundai and the Renault!!!!!!!!!
+Chandrashekar Dhulappanavar maruti is recently concentrating on mileage and neglecting power. it is observed in ciaz as well. so enthusiasts have to turn face off maruti.
and still we have to pay 1000 rupee per month for insurance no matter you drive vehicle or not.
No Boosterjet engine for India.what a shame!!. Abarth Punto looks like a better option.

I am looking for a hatchbag for myself and thus had been browsing about Baleno for like a week now. I went for a test drive today for Baleno Alpha petrol. No doubt car is better looking than swift but lacks the beauty of elite i20. My personal test drive experience was a disappointment. Car lacked the pickup that I was expecting from a brand new car, again it wasn't too bad either. Then another thing I noticed was car engine noise, which I was hearing with all the windows up on increasing the race everytime. Which was a big turn off. I mean I have been driving i10 for 5 years now and its still better silent than this new Baleno I drove. But yeah it was a test vehicle, maybe roughly handled. Advice for others in hurry to buy Sigma model of this car.. Sigma is having terrible interiors, exteriors, maybe even worse than Maruti alto.. Its not mentioned anywhere in the brochure. Do check it before you make a booking by just looking at the top variants shown at the NEXA showrooms. Again thats my two cents..

I think the baleno shvs will be more fuel efficient than ciaz shvs.
Dis will eat into swift n dzire sales quite lot if priced closely
now thats called full attack....Hyundai,volkswagon,honda...tough times ahead...

nice,, rear or both cars i20 and this are impressive, but front is disappointed in both, and most important quite similar cheap built quality,, these cars wouldn't get even a single star in safety test of any foreign agency..
and even after that, they will ask cost us around 8-10 lakhs..

+Gurdit Singh Launching on 26 October and BTW S-cross is in a different segment and competes with Ecosport, Polo cross, i20 Active etc. Baleno will compete with i20, Jazz etc.
This is what u call a hatchback, now a days in india sedans like dzire, amaze, xcent look so stupid they dont look sedan neither hatchback because of sub 4 meter category they fall in to save money but they really look stupid .
