Great reaction! Fun fact: This song was originally written for Ms Tina Turner herself, but guitarist John Sykes changed it into more of a Whitesnake song, so they kept it for themselves. Also, the girl in the music video is Tawny Kitaen, ex-wife of Whitenake's lead singer David Coverdale. She also appeared in the Still Of The Night video.

Real talent in this band, David Coverdale, Steve Vai, and others
Great song with one of the best guitar solo's in a ballad. What a lot of people may not know is the band you see in videos from this record did not play the first note on any of these songs. David Coverdale fired the whole band & hired all the guys you see in the videos to do the videos & the tours. Guitarist John Sykes co wrote most of the songs on the record. The guitar solo in Here I Go Again was done a guy named Dan Huff who was a studio musician that their producer used. He wanted Sykes to re-record the solo for that song. When he said he couldn't fly over to do , Huff was asked to do it & he did.
I always heard Adrian Vandenberg did do alot of the solos
@@gilhodges2025 Adrian did the solo for Here I go again on the record version. Dan Huff did the guitar for the Radio version which starts different and doesn't have the slow keyboard intro. Sykes did the rest and co wrote many of the songs.

The guitarists in the video didn't actually play on this album (Adrian Vandenberg and Vivian Campbell), they were just recruited for the videos and tour. The guy who played all the guitar on this album was John Sykes.

Another classic 80s metal ballad that was also a nice slow jam at all the high school dances...I had to buy the 45 to hear the whole unedited version with the longer guitar solo that radio always cut away from, lol...the song peaked at #2 for 1 week which made it just as popular as Here I Go Again which went all the way to #1 a few months earlier...

80s music is iconic, that initial opening note could have been Bon Jovi - Living on a Prayer. The guitar riff after that could have been ten other songs. The genre is a genre. You don't get that now, everything is more mixed up and experimental. That 80s hair though, I can't...! It coined a genre (big hair band, hair metal). His voice is phenomenal though and this is a great song.
