Hi ,Aileen , Another great Whitesnake song to check out is Slow an Easy ,You will absolutely love that one, Whitesnake's lead singer is David Coverdale, He was singer with Deep Purple in the early 1970s as well 😀😀🤘🤘🎸🎸
Whitesnake was my very first concert as a young teen- it was 1987 and I was 16. It was this album they were touring on. Great stuff- the 80's had some of the greatest Hard Rock bands you'll ever see. Love watching a song/video make you happy- it is certainly infectious. :)
One of the greatest rock songs of all time. So much going on in this song, from the tremendous vocals, great arrangement, rocking verses and the slow breakdown. Virtually nobody today could even contemplate writing & composing a song like this.
The greatest change in musical history. I still to this day, I have never heard anything like it. Making that guitar sound like an electric violin. Full-body goosebumps.
Fun fantastic reaction. I saw Whitesnake in '87, and Great White opened for them. Great White 'Rock Me' pairs really well with this one, another sexy, bluesy rocker.
David Coverdale (lead vocals) of Whitesnake is a legendary vocalist... he got his start as the singer of Deep Purple in 1974 until 1976. He formed the band Whitesnake in the late 70's from his solo career... 'Still of the night' was released in 1987 from the self-titled 'Whitesnake' album, co-written by guitarist John Sykes (who was fired before this video was filmed) and became a huge hit... It was compared to Led Zeppelin and Jimmy Page actually loved the song (David Coverdale and Jimmy Page would record 1 album together in 1993 - 'Coverdale. Page') ... but singer Robert Plant hated it; he derogatorily called the Whitesnake singer 'David Coverversion' in an interview. The video featured model/ actress Tawny Kitaen, who also did 2 more Whitesnake videos - 'Is this love' ... 'Here I go again'... and soon married David Coverdale... He wrote the Whitesnake song "Kitten's got claws" ...about her... They split up in 1990 and Tawny Kitaen eventually passed away in 2021 at age 59... She appeared in the 1984 music video 'Back for more' by Ratt when she was dating (late) Ratt guitarist Robbin Crosby and was the model on the cover of Ratt's '84 album 'Out of the cellar'. David Coverdale was an unknown British singer when he was hired by Deep Purple in 1974 to replace their singer Ian Gillan... His subsequent Purple albums 'Burn' and 'Stormbringer' ... were huge hits. However, after guitarist Ritchie Blackmore left Deep Purple in 1975, the band hired guitarist Tommy Bolin for 1 album 'Come taste the band'... but it failed commercially. After a disastrous tour marred by death and drug abuse, Deep Purple split up in 1976. David Coverdale launched a solo career in 1977 (2 albums - 'Northwinds' and 'Whitesnake') and eventually called his new band Whitesnake (jokingly after his 'thang' 🐍 😂) in 1978 and debuted the album 'Trouble'... Whitesnake would record a number of albums and tour Europe successfully before breaking big in Japan in the 80's... America was proving a tough sell and none of their records were out there. In 1984, Whitesnake's 6th album 'Slide it in' finally got a US release and the band were ready for the big time in 1986 by re-recording some of their songs for the 'Whitesnake' album... However, Coverdale decided to fire the entire band and hire a new line-up of Whitesnake as the album was being finished... it sold 8x platinum in 1987 w/ MTV promoting the band (which was different from the record) In 1989, Whitesnake released 'Slip of the tongue'... which was co-written w/ guitarist Adrian Vandenberg, but an injury resulted in virtuoso guitarist Steve Vai playing on the record and joining the band... The album sold platinum w/ hits like - 'Wings of the storm'... "Now you're gone"... 'Judgement day"... But after Coverdale's split from wife Tawny Kitaen, he disbanded Whitesnake in 1991. In 1993, David Coverdale and Led Zeppelin's guitarist Jimmy Page released a successful album 'Coverdale. Page'... but Jimmy Page opted to reunite w/ Zeppelin singer Robert Plant in 1994 as Plant & Page... Coverdale attempted more solo albums, but none were as successful. In 2002, David Coverdale reformed Whitesnake and began touring and recording successfully... He was planning a final tour recently, but health issues have forced him off the road and he has yet to announce any plans to return.
You should check out their song Slow and Easy. The 80's when every long haired teenager worked their asses off so you could afford to go to all the concerts seemed like there was a major band coming through every week. Big hair big sound = big fun at the concerts.. last fun decade of music the 80's and talent everywhere. Sure some of the outfits were a bit outrageous but there were so many good and great bands you had to come up with something that made you stand out from the rest .

The guitarist in the band was John Sykes. He was not in the video, as he was fired after the recording. John Sykes formed a band called Blue Murder with Tony Franklin of The Firm and Carmine Appice of Vanilla Fudge. Valley of the Kings blew a lot of people away., but the label didn't support them since they were on the same label as Whitesnake who were far more established, and already making the label money.
Love watching your reactions to songs I grew up listening to (ok, for some I was already in adulthood) and you having a great time, dancing in your chair. There are plenty of great bands, great individual songs. One I don't think you've done yet is Bob Seger, a great singer and storyteller. Songs like Night Moves, Like a Rock, etc, really hit the feels of growing up. Songs like Katmandu and Sunspot Baby are just dance in your chair gold.
I know a lot of people will ask for Here I Go Again...which is a great song...but I would love to see you react to Slide It In which was from the album before this one. They had some great songs...and this was a Super Group of players at the time. Tommy Aldridge on Drums from Ozzy's first couple albums, Rudy Sarzo on Bass from Quiet Riot, Mark Guiffrea from Guiffrea on Guitar (He used the bow), and Vivian Campbell from Dio's first couple of solo albums and is now with Def Leppard. David Coverdale is the singer who did a stint in Rainbow for a time. The female was Tawny Kitaen an actress who later married Coverdale. She had a few movies...the first that comes to mind was "Bachelor Party" with Tom Hanks. I saw them in Los Angeles supporting this album opening for Motley Crue on their Girls, Girls, Girls tour. Great memories Edit: Ack...not Guiffrea...the other guitarist was Mark Vendenberg who had a band called Vandenberg before this...and Coverdale was from Deep Purple not Rainbow.
Aileen I've seen a couple of your videos and I like them. You're adorable and I love your soothing voice! Whitesnake had two or three GREATS in the 80's. I'm lucky to have been a late teen adult during this period of time!! SO LUCKY!! Keep up the great reactions, I just sub'ed.
Its really hard not to like all the different feels and vibes this song brings. How about the middle interlude, so hypnotic and tense. Great band, great choice to listen to. This entire album is a masterpiece. Can't go wrong with a track on there.
That middle section still makes me stop in my tracks ❤ That fade out always makes me sad. It's the sound of the 80s fading away into history. So glad you liked it! 😍🌙🎸🤘
Whitesnake has been my favorite band since the late 80's! They have a large catalog of music. Here are the must hear songs, though: Here I Go Again Is This Love Slow an Easy Slide It In Fool For Your Lovin' Give Me All Your Love Tonight Deeper The Love Ain't No Love in the Heart of the City (older song. More bluesey) Loved your reaction and I hope to see more reactions to some of these songs!! CHEERS!
LOVE THIS SONG. My first band loved playing this, and our singer could nail every note David Coverdale sang in that song. Always felt amazing playing this song and still love jamming it even now.
David Coverdale was the lead singer in deep purple mark 3 ,when Ian Gillan left ,he and Glenn Hughes Stepped in , when deep purple disbanded ,David went to form white snake
Tell you what when they toured this album that line up kick total butt There's a lot of good songs to check out with this band give me all your love tonight Fool for your love in aint no love in the heart of the city slide it in spit it out. Slow and can go on forever. That band had a lot of good albums since the 70s, even with a lot of different musicians. Coverdale the singer saying, for deep purple for a couple albums, which he did a good job. There too.Fireball is one of the albums but but the song speaking
This is still one of my favorite rock songs of 80’s. The breakdown and rebuild were unique for the period. Then they give you an outro which also wasn’t common. Coverdale was a veteran singer as he started in the late 1960’s. I believe this was 1986 when it came out.
Brings back memories! Mainly of being in secondary school (high school if you're American) and sitting in the study hall doing homework on a sunny day and an older girl coming in with the Whitesnake logo on her file.
Huge hit on MTV, I saw them do this and they killed it. Also saw John Sykes, who was in Whitesnake, do this with Blue Murder, a hard rocking 3 piece with Sykes on guitar and vocals along with the great Carmine Appice on drums and Tony Franklin of the Firm on killer bass. The Blue Murder album is worth hearing, very underrated collaboration and you would love them, try the video for Valley of the Kings, you will want to play it again as loud as you can and enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶

I saw whitesnake open for motley crue at madison square garden when this first came out. Best of times. And yes he played the guitar with a violin bow he did that when i went to the show
Excellent review! The first part of the song (until 4:50 ) IMHO is the wolf (the singer as revealed later in the song) sniffing around the door - gaining his confidence and seducing his mate. At 4:50 in your review the song begins to build the angst of desire taking the lust to a point of being carnal. As the guitar plays a low, compressed note (E, I believe) with tremolo, the listener gets pulled into a pit of desire that is filled with empty space with a fringe of noises that teases the subconscious mind. As the bridge continues, the void is filled with the singer’s voice and the rhythmic tapping of cymbals and snare drums that keep the listener waiting with bated breath for these tickling sounds to usher in the change that usually accompany these markers but the listener’s desire has now become frustration. Then, the guitar sounds and acts like a lifeline that leads the listener from their pit of frustration to a light of confidence. Once the song returns to the main riff and ever higher octaves from the singer, the listener can hear the confidence of the singer now exclaiming, “Get over here, baby!” and, “I’ll be sneaking around your door!”. Again, great review!
It may have been mentioned already, but singer David Coverdale is the only band member in this video who actually recorded the song. Much respect to the actual guitarist, John Sykes, for those licks - and killer tone.
I can't tell you how good it makes me feel to see young people experience this great music for the first time! And you took it over the top when you hit the "stank face" mode during some really gritty guitar work! I love it! Takes me right back to 1987 (when I had that same face!). Love your reactions!!

One of the greatest rock songs of all time. So much going on in this song, from the tremendous vocals, great arrangement, rocking verses and the slow breakdown. Virtually nobody today could even contemplate writing & composing a song like this.
Love your reactions, big smile, chair dancing, surprise at the lyrics, and just having so much fun. Thanks Aileen 😊
Slide It In 🤘
By far their best album.
Slow an' Easy!
And Spit it out!
I saw them on the same tour. Good times.
However, Coverdale decided to fire the entire band and hire a new line-up of Whitesnake as the album was being finished... it sold 8x platinum in 1987 w/ MTV promoting the band (which was different from the record)
In 1989, Whitesnake released 'Slip of the tongue'... which was co-written w/ guitarist Adrian Vandenberg, but an injury resulted in virtuoso guitarist Steve Vai playing on the record and joining the band...
That is a beautiful history 😊👍 Thank you 😊👍
Saw them in 2017 or 2018. Still sounded great 👍
Sir David of Coverdale... One of the finest voices to come out of British music.
Great reaction Aileen, my favourite Whitesnake track is 'IsThis Love', which has a great video too.
Brilliant band back in the day. I love to watch video reactions of songs I grew up with.
There was an era where the music and the videos really worked together to tell a story.
'Run Runaway' - *Slade*. 1984
✌️🤟🤘
Needs to be the 12" version!👍
YESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!
Their is just something about 80s rock....such as this tune....just awsome man!!☝️😎
I was a teenager when this song came out and it's never gets old . Its still powerful and fun...😎🤘
One of my favorite Whitesnake jams! Thanks, Aileen.
A few more great ones from this band are "Slow An' Easy" "Slide it In" "Fool for Your Loving" and "Love Ain't No Stranger"
David Coverdale Vivian Campbell Adrian Vandenberg Tommy Aldridge Rudy Sarzo!!! One hell of a super group!!!!!! Slide it In & Slow & Easy are awesome songs as well. I highly recommend either one for your next reaction of them.
We rocked like the entire earth was watching....and it was....we loved with every fiber of our souls....and we lived like no other before or since!! From Gen X....your welcome!!
“The Deeper the Love” from their album with Steve Vai is one of my favourites and on my practice playlist for bass Aileen. Highly recommend. ~Terry
YES! One of my FAVORITE songs from them!
HI FROM SHEFFIELD YORKSHIRE ENGLAND YES AS A ORIGONAL GEN X IN THE 70S 80S WE WERE BLESSED WITH THE BEST METAL ROCK BANDS IN HISTORY AND 95% ORIGIINATED IN ENGLAD
95% ??? Nah 😂😂🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣
@@jimmyraidjames WHAT YOU LALAGHING AT EVERY ORIGONAL HEAVY METAL BAND CANE FROM THE MIDDLE AND THE NORTH OF ENGLAND!
IRON MAIDEN/ JUDAS PRIEST/ BLACKSABATH /DEEP PURPLE / MOTORHEAD/ SAXON /RAINBOW/ WHITESNAKE /THIN LIZZY
@@markunderwood912Stop shouting at me...🤣🤣 Since you are from Sheffield, where is the early Def Leppard?.🤔
@@martinkasper197 def leppard are 1 of the wakist most overrated bands they come under thise shty glam bands
David Coverdale, was also a Deep Purple vocalist
Yes he was. Not a patch on Ian Gillan though and Glenn Hughes just blew him outta the water!!!!
You're right !@@MLawrence2008
Aaah, that riff is SO GOOD. Such a good song.
Being a teen 80s was such a great experience. The music, cloths, and hair were so fun! Id go back and do it again in a heartbeat.
There’s nothing like 80s music. It’s never been bettered. ❤
The reaction this song deserves. 👏🏽👏🏽❤️🔥
Saw this tour twice - first as opener for Motley Crue then as headliner with Great White opening
Whitesnake are the epitome of 80s hard rock, there album 1987 is an absolute classic of an album, would love to see you react to there live version of Judgement Day from London in 2005, just an absolute masterpiece of a live performance, great reaction Aileen ❤️
Adrian Vandenberg was the guitarist who played the guitar with the bow. He was formerly for the self named rock group Vandenberg.
it was adrian vandenberg in the video, but on the album it was john sykes, who had left the band before the video was shot.
@@CroMagJohnson wasn't the album recorded by all different musicians than the video/tour?
@@billwell9266 Yes aside from Coverdale , none of these other guys in the video , were from the 87 album .
That was really fun, Aileen! could tell you really felt that song on a visceral level!!! 🔥🔥🔥
That 80s rock sound...but...can still jam it loud driving the freeways🤘🏽😎... keep up the great reactions chula🥰
Great memories
Edit: Ack...not Guiffrea...the other guitarist was Mark Vendenberg who had a band called Vandenberg before this...and Coverdale was from Deep Purple not Rainbow.
That damn solo and guitar by John Sykes, unbelievable🤩👏
They were great live. Saw this tour.
Huge Whitesnake fan. Not a huge "reaction" fan but...Aileen, you killed it. Intuitive, gorgeous, and worth the watch. Keep up the content!
Probably one of the best riffs ever!🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Its really hard not to like all the different feels and vibes this song brings. How about the middle interlude, so hypnotic and tense.
Great band, great choice to listen to. This entire album is a masterpiece. Can't go wrong with a track on there.
"Slow n Easy" next! 🤘🤘🔥🔥
That middle section still makes me stop in my tracks ❤
That fade out always makes me sad. It's the sound of the 80s fading away into history.
So glad you liked it! 😍🌙🎸🤘
Whitesnake has been my favorite band since the late 80's! They have a large catalog of music. Here are the must hear songs, though:
Here I Go Again
Is This Love
Slow an Easy
Slide It In
Fool For Your Lovin'
Give Me All Your Love Tonight
Deeper The Love
Ain't No Love in the Heart of the City (older song. More bluesey)
Loved your reaction and I hope to see more reactions to some of these songs!!
CHEERS!
I've said it before, but when the music gets good to you, you have the best "stank face"! That's how you know it's touching your eardrums!
One of the best solos ever hell yea
This is such a great classic song. This was on many cassette playlists for the car back in the day.
LOVE THIS SONG. My first band loved playing this, and our singer could nail every note David Coverdale sang in that song. Always felt amazing playing this song and still love jamming it even now.
Rock on Aileen 🤘 🎸🎶
I always imagined how I would be if I grew up during this era of hair metal rock another amazing reaction
You would be old now, and know how to ROCK. :) The old part isn't great. ;)
Another suggestion for you is by White Snake is "here I go again" and "is this love" and you will like both of them I guarantee
❤ her little dance and shoulder shifts is DAM well you know it fits the song
Huge hit on MTV, I saw them do this and they killed it. Also saw John Sykes, who was in Whitesnake, do this with Blue Murder, a hard rocking 3 piece with Sykes on guitar and vocals along with the great Carmine Appice on drums and Tony Franklin of the Firm on killer bass. The Blue Murder album is worth hearing, very underrated collaboration and you would love them, try the video for Valley of the Kings, you will want to play it again as loud as you can and enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
i love when you talk a lot. means you like the song. so good to see your smile again
I'm glad to be back to watch your reactions. Been gone several months due to a heart attack and someone broke into my truck and stole my phone. It's difficult trying to remember everyone I used to enjoy watching their reactions 😄
I'm an 80's kid!!!!! Best time of my life!!!! And I got to see White Snake, AWSOME NIGHT!!!!!
Singer David Coverdale made an album with jimmy Page naturally called "Coverdale/Page" biggest hit was 'Pride And Joy". You will love it!!
2:16 in, and I was right on target! But I did forget the also very kool, signature “ Aileen” hand gestures. Again, like only she can do!! Ok gonna just sit back and enjoy now! Love your reactions. Makes my day!
Great take young lady .. might be TMI but that don’t helped me “ score” a few years ago. Glad you liked it 💯❤️✌️🙏🤘
Still touring today, awesome in concert live seen them yeah 🎤🥁🎸🤘😆👍
None other than Steve Vai on that guitar. Tawny………..Did I say, Tawny? So beautiful
This is from their album which came out in 1987 ! Such a great band. Love David's voice xx
It may have been mentioned already, but singer David Coverdale is the only band member in this video who actually recorded the song. Much respect to the actual guitarist, John Sykes, for those licks - and killer tone.
1 of my all time favorite songs from my childhood. This man has some SERIOUSLY high notes.
Great reaction to a great song 🎸 🎤 💪 Greetings from germany and peace on earth ❤
I can't tell you how good it makes me feel to see young people experience this great music for the first time! And you took it over the top when you hit the "stank face" mode during some really gritty guitar work! I love it! Takes me right back to 1987 (when I had that same face!). Love your reactions!!
I so love your love for older music ❤❤🤘 your videos really do make me smile .. when you get excited and just start going off 😍 I am such a fan . Give me anything from yesteryear and I'm all in lol
They were awesome live, I saw them with Great White in Florida !
"Crying in the Rain" and "Fool For Your Loving" and "Love Ain't No Stranger" are my favorite Whitesnake songs. I so miss the 80s.
