where can i buy a new throttle cable for a klippo mower?
I had to loosen the throttle cable to check something and now it doesn't function quite right. At times it sort of works with a lag effect, ie you pull on the throttle cable lever and a second or so later the throttle adjustment will work. At other times adjusting the throttle cable lever has no effect on the throttle adjustment. Not sure whether to buy a new cable or whether my situation can be fixed, what do you think?
+Roonza Car If the problem is that the throttle cable no longer has strength to properly move the linkage it is worth replacing the cable with a new one. you may want to check the cable mount and the governor spring to be sure they are in working order.
+PushMowerRepair.com Thanks, the cable mount may need to be replaced, it's never felt as secure as I'd like it to be.
A real Australian would not use pliers or a "Z-tool". He'd use his teeth and a beer can.
(Thanks, from England!)
The plastic sheathing on my lawn mower throttle cable broke in the middle when I folded the handle for winter storage. The wire inside the cable is not broken; can you suggest how to splice the plastic sheathing back together so that the wire moves inside the sheathing. They want $50 plus shipping for a new replacement cable. Dave P.
U could try black/other color heatshrink tubing over the broken parts of the outer cable or if your'e not concerned with it looking tidy u could use 1 or more layers of black/other color electrical tape & a small cable tie @ each of the tape to prevent the tape from unwrapping in the sun, heat will affect the glue on the tape but dont overtighten the cable ties when u secure them as it might stop the inner cable from moving or bind.
👍👍👍👍👍
