The one thing I love about this video is your honesty. Everyday we see perfect videos that make us feel its easy. This one shows us the reality of baking
Thank you for your kind comments and sharing with me Zainab. I try as much as possible to strike a balance between both worlds. The glam and not-so-glam.😌 Thank you for watching!
Honestly. Good bless you ma'am Oluchi for your sincerity
@@adeolaehinmowo1201 Amen!🙏🏼🥰 God bless you too!❤️
You're just right zizou
Yes dear that is most important you
I acknowledge that this was made two years ago lol; BUT it is soooooo refreshing to see some damn honesty. When people cut out all the mistakes and problems, it makes me feel like they're more focused on making themselves look perfect so they can get some attention than they are actually helping people. If you remove all of the footage of the simple mistakes you made or things that happened, we don't learn the importance of dusting your surfaces or controlling your environment, we don't know what causes fondant to get too sticky or what causes air bubbles and how to fix them. Then what happens? We think that we are failing and we give up because if it's so easy that you made no mistakes then we MUST be morons. So, thank you for including everything. Besides, as bakers we get a lot of crap about how we charge too much or criticism when things aren't perfect and it's because of all the content creators out there who make it look easy. People have no idea how much they're hiding for the sake of looking like they're perfect to gain views and it really hurts the rest of us. People are under the false impression that we are overcharging for something they could do at home in half the time and it's largely because decorators and bakers who create content hide the truth of the the real labor and ability that has to go into making edible art. Thank you for your honesty.
Thank you so much, Jesse, for your kind feedback! I must say you invested so much into sharing your thoughts with me, and I really do appreciate that. I completely understand your message, and believe me when I say it was not an easy decision as the video was not perfect for me. It was frustrating recording with all the challenges, but I was already determined in my mind to go through with it. I was concerned about being judged due to the imperfections in the video, but hey, I believe in just being real and letting people see that beyond the glam, some days could just be downright gloomy and that they're not alone when they go through times like these. I'm more fulfilled knowing the video touched a lot of bakers out there, and I'm grateful for the feedback so far and the learning opportunity from the suggestions people have shared. It's one video I feel fulfilled about sharing and just being vulnerable about what It really feels like doing this job we all love so much.
Thank you very much once again. It was beautiful reading and taking in your feedback on my video! 😊
I'm glad you still posted it. It serves as encouragement that days like this do occur. Cheers to your continued growth and thanks for sharing.
Thank you Justice Funmi. Very true.

Thank you for sharing this video. Bakers always have good days and bad days and you pulled through on this one ♥️♥️♥️
You're most welcome Emioluwa! You're quite correct, thank God I was able to pull through. ❤️❤️❤️
Very insightful. It's hard to find a good instructor and that's what you are. I don't like fondant but this video is giving me a change of mind. Kudos to a good instructor. God bless
Happy to know.
Thanks so much for your kind comment Judith! Thanks for watching!
Amen and you too.
Wow the real looks amazing and beautiful...
Thank you very much Mark! Cheers!
Thank you for posting. It’s good for us to understand what is needed to have a perfect cake
You're welcome Janice. Thank you very much for your kind comment.
Wahoo great work
Thank you very much! 💕
I love how relatable this is
So beautiful. Just wanna add a suggestion coz it's something I do and it works. You can try to always add corn flour or plain icing sugar on (top of) the fondant before rolling it, that way it won't stick together while putting it round the cake
Nice video 👍
Thank you Gloria, I appreciate your kind suggestion. I did but lightly cause I don't do it so much when working with coloured fondant. This particular day was just special in it's own way.
Thanks once again and God bless you for watching!🙏🏼❤️
I believe in this hot weather, cornflour works best.thanks for sharing,it came out beautiful.
Thank you very much Taiwo, alright, I have taken note. Thanks for sharing!
The most natural and pure video ever . I love the originality, I mean it’s real 😍😍😍😍
Thank you very much Favour! I appreciate your kind words.😍😍🥰
Anytime I find myself in a situation like yours and very tired too I start crying because I'm always alone and no one to help , I personally love the ernegy you put into it despite everything
Thank you for sharing with me Nana, I hope you get help soon and still find strength to overcome times like this. You're strong and you can. Thanks for your kind words, well appreciated!
I always hated working with fondant. I will try this method. I love that we can see the thickness. I went to another baker for training on fondant and she couldn't show or explain the thickness to me. This really helps as I always roll mine too thin and then it tears. Thanks a mil.
Alright Rosemary, do try. Overtime with constant practice, you would get a hang of it. Thanks for your kind comments. ❤️❤️
I wish I could like this video a million time, the honesty alone has it.u r a good woman God bless you
Amen!🙏🏼🙏🏼 Thank you so much Mmeme, I appreciate your kind words and compliment. God bless you!
Thank you for sharing! It helps to know that things may not go as smoothly as you desire, but the key is to stay the course and finish strong! You did just that. The final cake is beautiful.

Weldon ma good job
Well am a baker who learns from youtube 🙂
One technique I do use is parchment paper, so before I flip over I place a parchment paper on the board I want to flip to and then still add a dust of corn flour and it will never stick no matter the weather
Same thing goes for the side, after rolling I dust corn flour on it before I rolled up 🙂
Thank you Grace!
That's fine, thanks for sharing with me! It works as well but this method is what I have used for years and it never fails. This was just a peculiar day.🙂

❤ 😍 💖 ❣ 💕 💘 ❤
I finally got this relief like..."even the top bosses have challenges, so don't run down yourself when you have issues with your cakes" I used to think I wasn't good enough let alone teach other people because I was afraid they'll see my flaws. I'm really encouraged now to be more confident even when things aren't working so fine or as planned...many hugs ma'am 🤗 I love you
Absolutely, there's no need to cause it happens even to the best of us. We have flaws, imperfect cakes, not so good cake days and all but we manage these situations and move on.
Thanks, love you too!🤗
Pls what was that she used on the cake before the fundant

Amazing work! I am also a cake decorator and face many challenges especially with fondant that’s why considering panelling option. It’s nice how you have been honest about the challenges you had to face whilst making this cake as many of other UA-cam videos only show the good stuff and not the reality behind making cakes.
Thank you very much Naila!

Since you don't have a steamer you can just use clear alcohol or vodka with a brush to clean off the icing sugar and polish the fondant after you have covered the cake. Beautiful vlogs, new subscriber.

I almost did but for some valid reasons, I kept going as I knew giving up wasn't an option. True, it's not all glitz and glam like we see on social media.

Ma'am please you made mention that you do not use steamer to shine your cake
Please what do you use or how do you shine your fondant cakes
Thank you
@@affluyvonne-zm2yv I don't use anything. I'm particularly careful when I work with fondant, less icing on my fondant and I clean up/dust as I work.
I love the fact that you allowed us see the struggle bcus I sometimes feel I am the only one that struggles
