All this talk about him saying "there is no god" and you all seem to be looking over the fact that he's actually saying "there is no god that can love this world" Two different things. The more you know.
This links up well with Dispossession by Northlane. "I have forgotten how to love" vs "there is no god that could love this world." If you imagine Adrian's lyrics being that of a god
I've gone through some tough things in my life. Thinking about it recently it made me think of the line from this song, "Divine judgement I could never believe!" So I'm listening to this song for the first time in years.
Abracos
I listened and even sang this tune when I was told the person I meet . when I was a little boy someone I gave my heart too was gone. I'm better now... She's okay. THANK GOD
Today this song means miere than ever "There is no god that could love this loveless world... I find no comfort" RIP to all those lives lost to hate today
all the arguing exactly what hes talking about no comfort winstons not talking about god hes talking about everyone killing each other everybody putting each other down in this world over religion thank you for proving his point
Love this freaking album! I've listened to it nonstop since it came out. I never was just a huge fan of PD or anything before Atlas, but always had a few of their songs like Carrion and Horizons that I loved...then this album came out and I was blown away! Most every track on it kicks major ass!!!
yea I'm a guy hahaha and thanks for the recognition! this song is too amazing to be shit on, just cuz he's stating his opinion doesnt mean its "offensive" everyone grows up differently, and everyone has a different viewpoint on stuff. good to see more people that can understand song meanings \m/ , makes the world go 'round!
It's obvious the song talks about how Winston sees how cruel the world can be and his thoughts of how God can't be real if all of this destruction and struggle is happening. It's HIS opinion and he wrote a powerful song about it. I'm religious and I'm totally fine with that because everyone has their right to their opinion, period!
only thing i wanna say that if some of us want to believe in something why the other ones cant let us believe, i cant imagine how you keep sane when thinking theres no heaven that this just ends when we die, i sure wanna believe in god and in heaven, it makes me feel good.
this song takes me to a place in time where pain and discomfort were all i knew. and in those darkest moments, this track racked my mind. the haunting intro riff played over, “there is no god that could love this world... I FIND NO COMFORT!!” and i believed in in the darkest depths of my heart that He was not there. and i lay alone, face down in the dirt. crying. broken. but He was there. and He showed me through His Word that He was. “Am I a God near at hand,” says the LORD, “And not a God afar off? Can anyone hide himself in secret places, so I shall not see him?” Says the LORD; “Do I not fill heaven and earth?” Says the LORD. (Jer. 23:23-24) and by reading the Word, i now know too that i was no put on this planet to live a lush and comfy life. Jesus says, “take up your cross and follow Me.” and following Jesus will not be easy. it won’t be comfortable. it will hurt. it will seem impossible at times. but Jesus will never leave or forsake me, and He will be with me always, till the end of the ages. (Deut. 31:6-7 & Matt. 28:20) i hope this encourages you if you are feeling alone and are hurting. there is a God. and there is comfort in knowing God. the Way isn’t easy. but it’s worth it.
Faith is believing in something without a good reason to. Those who possess critical thinking only believe things that they have a good reason to believe.
everyone has their reasons as to why one believe's or doesn't, and no my faith hasn't been knocked considering that i've heard angels on a phone recording. It was a worship setting, with music and such, and there was a part when it was just the instrumentalists playing while the singers on the stage and crowd was silent. All of the sudden a large sound of a chorus came out of no where, you can also hear people screaming because of what they were hearing, and when the crowd joined in there was...
I usually dont comment on this kind of stuff, but I feel this song is an agnostic view of the world. It is mostly against organized religion that has always been a bane on society. And that if there is a god, how could he/she love this world of hate we created for ourselves?
Whether you believe there is no god or not is irrelevant. The lyrics talk about how the worship of one being has ruined our country, how we feel fear and hatred, how we are so very ignorant and how there are people who would kill for their god. Simple really.
I understand now, hes not saying there is no god, he is saying there cant be a god that could love the shitty world we've created for ourselves. school shootings and mass murders. ignorance on every corner. if there is a creator that made everything im sure like any artist would be pissed that his creation is being pissed on
"force-feed the masses with the promise of salvation, knowledge controlled, power withheld in the name of one, let all blood spill" - my view on religion regardless if this song isn't about religion
wow.....i love you.....even if you're a man.....i love you. I feel like i found another person on a deserted island. You are the first intelligent religious person on the internet i have ever seen.....someone get Ripley's cuz i dunno if i believe it.....
@QuarterMOA890 Yeah, I see where you're coming from. It just annoys me when a Christian claims they are "offended" when someone says "there isn't a God". It's nothing for them to get offended at, as it isn't directly aimed at them.
Yeah that makes total sense. Loads of good people, even believers, have been shot in the head and died, whilst your friend survived and was able to carry on life as before. Why would a "god" who is supposedly all loving spare his life and not the life of another who i'm sure deserved the chance to carry on their lives just as much? That sounds like chance to me.
it is true.. and i respect that comment but, the only thing i feel from god, or jesus is love. not hatred or fear.. but, your right on all levels.. anyway whatever Parkway Drive
I think its more about how a god could not love this world because of how ethicaly bad humanity is not because of how a god cannot be real because of all this destruction and suffering, i mean quote:"There is no god.. that could love this world" pretty much states it.
No comfort
Fear, in the face of the unknown
Born to die in a lonely world
Hostility, breeds within the void
Left by the loss of understanding
Hatred, the true face of ignorance
Force-fed to the masses with the promise of salvation
Knowledge controlled, power withheld
In the name of one, let all blood spill
There is no god, that could love this world
I find no comfort
In a life lived on my knees
No comfort
Devine judgement, I could never believe
No comfort
I could never believe
To live a life without regret
Is it not enough
To love, and to be loved
Nothing lasts forever
Nothing lasts
Superstition rules in the land of the weak
Fear, in the face of the unknown
Born to die in a lonely world
Hostility, breeds within the void
Left by the loss of understanding
Hatred, the true face of ignorance
Force-fed to the masses with the promise of salvation
Knowledge controlled, power withheld
In the name of one, let all blood spill
There is no god
That could love this world
I find no comfort
drummer is criminally underrated.
Parkway Drive Drummer Ben Gordon is a beast for damn sure!!
Shut up.
@@rjskum688 No you
He's nothing special really. He's solid, but pretty standard amongst his metalcore peers.
But for someone that literally plays the drums coz parkway needed a drummer and no other reason he's pretty sick at what he does yea there is better out there but the point is for someone that doesn't play the drums outside of the band he's incredible
This song has grown on me so much, one of the best in the album easily.
Atlas
Blue and gray
Dark days
The river
And this song are my faves off this album.
All this talk about him saying "there is no god" and you all seem to be looking over the fact that he's actually saying "there is no god that can love this world" Two different things. The more you know.
The intro with that specific picture is absolutely fuckin eerie.. I bloody love it
'That could love this world!' At 3:40, this has to be the most emotional scream i've ever heard..
+Ic3nova 3:33 actually, not 3:50
+BR HUEHUEHUEHUE We were both wrong actually. It's at 3:40 :)
lol, listen to Slipknot or Korn best examples would be daddy or scissors
This song is good and all, but it's hard to listen to on a broken chair.
...NO COMFOOORRRRRRRRTTTTTTTTTTTTT
***** i understand that, im sitting in a broken chair right now ,just ''no comfort'' at all
I see what yall did there lol
This riff is absolutely out of this fucking world. Just sounds so urgent, like a warning for an impending war or battle. Fucking love this band.
Makes me like this band even more
2:41 the beggining of the "Bottom Feeder" :)
That's what I thought
true dat
Holy shit I never noticed that!!
"Superstition rules in the land of the weak." Well said Parkway.
I love the lyrics... No truer words have ever been spoken
I don't actually know how to describe this song. It's just.... a masterpiece!
This links up well with Dispossession by Northlane. "I have forgotten how to love" vs "there is no god that could love this world." If you imagine Adrian's lyrics being that of a god
that riff at 2:16 is kicking my ass
At this time, nobody could change my mind that jeff is hands down the best guitarist.
I've gone through some tough things in my life. Thinking about it recently it made me think of the line from this song, "Divine judgement I could never believe!"
So I'm listening to this song for the first time in years.
1:51 how can you not love that part
The riff at 1:50 is epic!
Whole riff is amazing
The me, the lyrics speak of the hardships of life and the minimal rewards obtained by countless hard work.
The best song of parkway drive......
really lol after Atlas song. This has as got to be the least of best songs of PWD. Even Tho I love it. lets be real here lol
2:15 could be their most catchy riff ever! Makes me want to run forever

Best song on the album
Jaime Diaz 2nd for me.. blue and the grey tops it.

The intro to this gives me chillssssssssssss

best song from Parkway Drive.
Those. Fucking. Riffs.

all the arguing exactly what hes talking about no comfort winstons not talking about god hes talking about everyone killing each other everybody putting each other down in this world over religion thank you for proving his point
Best song on the album. Seen em a few times since this, yet to hear it live. This song fucking slays.
Parkway Drive FTW !!!

Best song on the album !
love the guitar in this song just so bad ass sounding
It's actually really simple though, and easy to learn.
Sometimes the easiest riffs can be the most bad ass sounding.
Their best album in my opinion. Fucking love every song.

I could never believe To live a life without regret
Is it not enough
relevant lyrics are relevant
love the riff at 2:18 !
The lyrics are the best part of this song.
If this song is evidence enough, then I would guess no. "There is no god, that could love this world" pretty much says it all. I would have to agree.
It's obvious the song talks about how Winston sees how cruel the world can be and his thoughts of how God can't be real if all of this destruction and struggle is happening. I miss this Parkway Drive 😢
why does no one get around this? legit tune!
only thing i wanna say that if some of us want to believe in something why the other ones cant let us believe, i cant imagine how you keep sane when thinking theres no heaven that this just ends when we die, i sure wanna believe in god and in heaven, it makes me feel good.

RekerBRZ only
parkway drive is the shit, you guys got it down for real,
Pleasantly surprised by the lack of butthurt in the comments. Thank you Parkway, for spreading the real truth, not "his truth" and some bullshit.
Bullies like you think you're better than others and more intelligent, arrogant piece of shit
Of course it is!
Love the lyrics.
Damn, this is heavy!! Love it
Amazing album 🤘❤️

Yes we are very ignorant 🤦♂️😣😞
And it irritates me that we can’t see that, such a shame of what world we live in 😑

8 people find comfort on their knees.
Why is it that in any song that involves believing or not believing in God theres has to be an argument? Just enjoy the song!!!
There's a ratio between the level of discomfort and the results you achieve.
"force-feed the masses with the promise of salvation, knowledge controlled, power withheld in the name of one, let all blood spill" - my view on religion regardless if this song isn't about religion
This song is amazing, my Favorite so far, Heavy riffs and Darkest Lyrically, but i don't care on the message of this song
wow.....i love you.....even if you're a man.....i love you. I feel like i found another person on a deserted island. You are the first intelligent religious person on the internet i have ever seen.....someone get Ripley's cuz i dunno if i believe it.....
