AS I LAY DYING comments, "We are tremendously grateful to have found positive resolve from the worst moments of our history. The previous chapter of our journey was one of pervasive hurt and pain. Subsequent years found us on varied paths-all of which slowly led towards resolutions of growth, healing, and reconciliation. AS I LAY DYING's collective purpose is to share a message of hope for everyone through the empowering outlet of music, and we are humbled by the overwhelming support we have received from family, friends, and fans so far.
We are honored to join forces with Nuclear Blast Worldwide in releasing our new album Shaped By Fire. Their legacy and contribution to the heavy music scene is undeniably incredible and we are proud to call their label home. We are thankful for their support and enthusiasm and together we look forward to sharing the best AILD record yet!
In conjunction with our new album announcement, we are excited to share a music video for the title track 'Shaped by Fire.' While lyrically akin to the other Shaped By Fire single releases 'My Own Grave' and 'Redefined', we explored some different musical territory to incorporate within our established sound. We’d like to thank our director Mathis Arnell, all of the crew, and actors that contributed to making this video with us under the very hot conditions!
We look forward to seeing our fans out on the road as we embark on the Latin American, European, and US tours before closing the book on 2019."
Shaped By Fire was produced by the band and was mixed by Joseph McQueen at Sparrow Sound in Los Angeles, CA while mastering was completed by Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound in Nashville, TN. The only exception was for the track “My Own Grave” which was produced by AS I LAY DYING, co-produced by Drew Fulk and mixed by Adam “Nolly” Getgood. The artwork was created by Corey Meyers.

I had just heard of them amazed a year prior to this and I was completely impressed with their older stuff and then I was just blown away with this. everything about this song was done to perfection. The riffs, the lyrics, the vocals and drums just total perfection. Since this song I have much greater respect for this bands performance and statis. I want to see them live.

Loved this band from the beginning, just now, revisiting the music kept my head above water.
My thoughts on the whole situation:
Tim was my idol. The only one I had. Metal as hell. Strong beliefs. Took care of his body. Hell, he even adopted kids in need!!! I wanted to be just like him.
When I heard what happened, I was literally in shock. I had just seen them in San Antonio 2 weeks before the arrest. He was super nice. But man, I was hurt as a fan.
But seeing his band trust him, accept him, and make music with him is amazing.
True forgiveness. Love y’all. Love this. Welcome back, Tim.

Samuel Caron uhhh Wage War, Veil of Maya, Currents, Make Them Suffer, Caliban, Bleeding Through, Desolist, Bad Wolves, Demon Hunter, While She Sleeps, Gideon, Darkest Hour, Miss May I, In Hearts Wake, Eighteen Visions, August Burns Red, Johari, Trivium, Loathe, Varials, and Stick to your Guns have all put out fantastic albums the last two years. Metalcore have never needed to be saved.
James Reddy aaaand that's just your opinion, not a fact. also people generally list a handful of really good bands when it comes to the creme of the crop of a certain genre. you won't find people listing a gajillion top tier thrash metal bands as you did. bands like metallica wouldn't be so special then, would they?

James Reddy Most of those bands don't matter. They're all good, sure, but As I Lay Dying was a monster in the genre, and something died when they left. AILD, ABR, Killswitch, ATR (to a lesser extent)-those are the important metalcore bands. Metalcore won't be phased if In Hearts Wake disappears (even though I like them). Same goes for a lot of those bands.
Killswitch engage and as I lay dying are the legends of metalcore and still keeping their style

Sameer albalushi you are totally correct. These guys helped create what most bands aspire to be like. AILD are definitely legends. Just glad that they were able to move on and stay together as a band.
