"A generation born, to witness the end of the world"...
Love that quote.
+Kratos Luckily, I wasn't one of those generation.
+Kratos sad that i born in 21 th century, such broken

"The world is broken. We’re the last choking embers of a fire waiting to burn out. Long before our grandfathers and their fathers before them, we started pulling our planet apart in the name of progress and blind ambition. The greed of man has devoured this earth until there was nothing left. We watch as time eats us alive. A generation born to witness the end of the world.”
maybe? maybe it's time.
All hail coronavirus
lol
They said that before it becomes mainstream
Let's hope. About time this world got it's fucking shit together.
A generation born to witness the end of the world!
Maybe we are living in a simulation?
In Metalcore you often find song after song that sounds the same, but there are some that are truely unique.
This is one of them.
It's the high guitar riff that makes many song on this album that unique
Lyrics (from Genius) :
[Verse 1]
We built our dreams from the ashes of your nightmares
Carry our father's sins, from the cradle to the grave
We blaze our path through the darkness that you left us in
Now we ride in the belly of the beast
[Chorus]
We are the diamonds that choose to stay coal
A generation born to witness the end of the world
[Hook]
Against the grain!
Against the odds
Against the world!
Forever the underdogs
[Bridge]
We are the bastard sons
We are the ones that refused to grow cold
We are the thorn in your side
We are the thieves in the night
And we're coming to take what's ours
[Breakdown]
No regrets!
No regrets, we inherit the sins of the fathers
Now reap the vengeance
No regrets, we inherit the sins of the fathers
Now reap the vengeance
Go!
[Verse 2]
From the ashes of your nightmares
From the cradle to the grave
We blaze our path through the darkness that you left us in
Now we ride in the belly of the beast
[Chorus]
We are the diamonds that choose to stay coal
A generation born to witness the end of the world
[Interlude]
Born to witness the end of the world
[Outro]
Viva the underdogs!
How is that "breakdown" a breakdown?
@@prismaticc_abyss Agreed, if anything, the Outro "Viva the underdogs" is the breakdown.
@@svandalbear I agree with the if anything statement
The intro guitar honestly gives me chills holy shit it is so good
And the people all singing together in the background! It's all so fucking sick
Fuck yeah
I set it as my alarm clock lol
Saw them in concert last year and this year. Last year was my first time seeing them live.
This was the first song they played and the energy for the rest of the concert was absolutely insane
Always has!!! Lol love it!

thanks men
awesome
thanks
the fact that the intro refers to Sleepwalker and Horizons makes this song even more perfect than it already is.
Who is the old man saying this? Is it from something else or was it just for this song?
I swear every parkway drive song makes me want to be a better person. Every single song gives me the chills
This song never fails to give me goosebumps.
I think Parkway Drive is a perfect mix of chugs, melodic leads and guitar solos. Like their songs are not saturated with overly boring breakdowns like I hear in a lot of bands these days
+Kevin Tran Funny that you say this because one of the early albums PD did can be summed up in one words. Breakdowns. Maybe five : Breakdowns leading to more breakdowns. They learned from their mistakes tho and are now one of the best Metalcore bands ever.
+Non Merci never call anything parkway drive has done a mistake lmao
+Kevin Tran Love me some chugs
+Non Merci Wtf r u saying? PWD never made mistakes in their albums. They at least did breakdowns right.
Im so sorry, i don't like Parkway Drive i don't know why :D
Every time I hear the beginning part of this song, my car explodes by how loud I turn up the volume.
fake, cars cant go high enough to cause any type of damage to the vehicle
+Robert Koivisto I've seen bass crack a windshield.
How many cars have you went through now?
I DON'T ALWAYS LISTEN TO PARKWAY DRIVE BUT WHEN I DO I MAKE SURE THE NEIGHBORS DO TOO!
We need to be friends! Hahaha!
Listening to this song a couple of years later, and thinking:
1. Oh man, how I miss this kind of Metalcore
2. I'm getting old! It tastes like high school, and I'm almost graduating
SETH FREAKIN’ ROLLINS
I just love how every comment is positive and no one has anything bad to say about this band
It's cause there's nothing absolutely nothing about this band to bitch about cx
+Angela Bartini honestly I have no clue what the fuck they're saying so I can't really hate on it. This is coming from a three days grace fan, so this is a lot...different than what I am use to.
+Crims tdg used to be my favorite band a while back.
and i can understand the lyrics quite well most of the time, but i guess im just used to this type of music after listening to it so often now
dakota valley negative is bad that's why
They are the GOATS
Parkway Drive saved my life.
Never forget who you are, where you came from... Always remain true to yourself. Because at the end of the day, if you cant find anything to live for - then you better find something to die for. Be reborn through the ashes of your nightmares.
That's Deep dude I agree
those are some amazing and meaning full words!!!!
Slayed it brother
I love how some of the best quotes come from the comment sections of heavy metal music videos
Thanks man so true!!
They played this as their final encore song in Houston on Feb 4th and it brought the house down. They paused and let us all do the Ooooh Ahh Ooooooh part and Winston was just soakin' it up. Grin from ear to ear. This band still does what they do because of us the fans and it shows in every song they put out and every performance they have. I LOVE PARKWAY DRIVE!
Htown holding it down
Saw them when they performed at warped tour in Milwaukee, they packed the main stage area
Their live shows are what I want to go for before I die
too bad they don't play older songs for their day 1 fans these days.
@@mannyblackstaryou get a chance to, do it!!! You won't regret it.
One of their greatest songs of all time, hearing this live gives me chills when everyone chants "whoa" been a fan of theirs for 10 years.

So I guess the last remaining humans are all Parkway Drive fans?
Yes
+Plastic Fork Breaker If this would be true, LET THE APOCALYPSE HAPPEN!!!
They're the only people capable of surviving
Acacmde _ yes because we are hearing their message in their songs
Makes scence
10 years lads and ladettes, timeless as ever
In the future we will look back on this era with amazment, the world will be completly different soon
Oh yea. Within the next ten or so years something big is coming.
why the f**k have I not heard of this band?
I have been living a lie....
seriously mate?
i have heard them in 2013, still listening right now. they are great in their categorie. i am sorry for you :( listen all of their songs, you wont be disappointed
+rico dyson If you like them you probably like MetalCore :p Check out August Burns Red and Northlane too.
you must have been living under a rock or something dude :(
+rico dyson You need to listen to every one of their songs..... These guys are fucking amazing.
My fucking music teacher taught Parkway Drive in upper mid north coast. He didn't teach them to do what they do, but he still taught them guitar and shit.
xavier hunt what's you teacher think of them now? And i take you're from byron?
Kaniff He thinks very highly of them. And no, I'm from good ol' derro central Taree.
hey could be worse, you could be in logan QLD
Kaniff So true
Kaniff spot on
This is another masterpiece
Parkway Drive - "Wild Eyes"
Another masterpiece!
§ Great song my metal friend §
§ That's what we need ...§
Marianne E. danke das wusste ich nicht. Was für ein scheiss! In der Schweiz geht es zum glück... Trozdem einen schönen Tag!
They've been releasing masterpiece after masterpiece Can't think of a bad song!
Haha fucking hell every metal song on youtube has the worst comments section, people bitching it ain't metal, people calling those who enjoy it emo's, people hating on bands... Whatever happened to being one big \m/ family?
THANK YOU
Finally Someone that proves a great point ! This is probably the best comment on a metal music vid ever
people learn slower then others, i found out long ago to not care what people think, like what you like. On a positive note parkway driveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
People that bitch and cry about metal arn't metal what so ever just a bunch of childish trolls that wish they were metal
People prefer labels. Everyone has to fit some sort of niche or all would be chaos.
I still can't believe how good this guitar riff sounds
Now I see where Seth Rollins got the inspiration of his new theme from
I love the dust flying off those fucking drums
Konnor Barnes bro there's dust flying off everything HAHA...
Last time they came down to Argentina Winston said something like: "We know you guys won't beleave it, but we wrote this song after our first visit to argentina inspired on hearing you guys singing along to our choruses and even the guitar solos" - The OohOOOhhh parts are pretty soccer shit for us. I don't beleave it tough but it was a nice moment of the show, the arg. crowd went crazy.
Parkway "Freakin" Drive
"....a generation born, to witness the end of the world." The riff afterwards gives me goosebumps every damn time!🤘🤘🤘
Why is everyone saying they can't understand what he's saying. This is way easier to understand than extreme metal.
its human nature to talk shit about something they cant comprehend, and try Amon Amarth when it comes to extreme metal, they're vocals are decent to understand and its simply amazing music, but this youtube page sounds like it has a bunch of trolls so I wouldn't pay much attention to them
***** Unfortunately so, people can't appreciate good music these days
***** dude i love you, mary me ! ( no homo, i'm dead ... )
Amon Amarth for Life and death !
it's called exreme metal now? -_-
Austin Garrett Extreme Metal just refers to the more extreme sub-genres of metal, like Black and Death.
Those riffs are great. Very old In Flames-ish.
True
agreed! kick it with a slow death jam! - said metal heads, every where!
Yup. First thing I thought when I heard these guys. I grew up on old I.F. Bought Jester Race and Whoracle in 1997 and loved it. They lost me after Reroute and had a few good songs and a decent album here or there but nothing compared to that feeling of Jester/Whoracle/Colony and Black-Ash. Parkway kills it like In Flames used to. Spot on.
pleasuretokill Exactly my thoughts and experiences with In Flames. I'd go as far as saying that Jester Race is lyrically and musically one of the best albums in metal.
glad im not the only one :D
The amount of talent this vocalist has in his growls are insane!
fun fact. none of the band had any idea this song was going to have the success it did, in fact they weren't sure about it at all. jeff couldn't believe the reaction he got and gets when he plays the main riff. complete surprise to all of them, all be it a pleasant one
Can't fucking wait to see Parkway at Warped this year!
So fucking pissed that they aren't coming to my warped date..
I want in coach!!
VIVA THE UNDERDOOOOOOOOOG!
+Carlos Salazar The TDWP hoodie....where did u take it from cuz i want one too:))
+Eric Rath Nope, i made it (;
+Carlos Salazar Wait is it actually or is it 'forever the underdog' cause now I'm confused
+Carlos Salazar Wait is it actually or is it 'forever the underdog' cause now I'm confused
+Not My Name Viva the underdog
I love the look in the guy's eyes right before he dives off the stage. You can see the excitement running through him. Exactly how I looked my first time.
These guys put on one hell of a show. Can't wait to see them again
I love the last quote of the intro..."A generation born to witness the end of the world".
We have to face reality here... how many generations will there be left?
TheCruelDead I agree. Have you seen Parkway Drive's "Dark Days" music video though? I think it gets the point about pollution across a bit better, but these are both awesome.
0:37-1:27...Cant find words to describe it...So awesome!!!
One of my all-time favorites. This song is perfect.
Buuuunt it Down!
Probably on of the best guitar intros in history
Definitely, this riff is already legendary though ;)
Aussie Core is so badass. Parkway Drive, Make Them Suffer, Thy Art Is Murder, In Hearts Wake/Aversions Crown.
Northlane pl0x
justinfuzzyhat what does pl0x mean bro?
Electroventure please
Nicola Barban wait thats what it means?
Electroventure Yes.
The intro hit different
Still jamming in 2019, anyone else??
Forever

BORN TO WITNESSS
THE END
OF THE WUUUUUUURRLD
that intro is legendary, i love the "ooooooooo" Part
I owe it to Parkway Drive big time. I got into a really bad accident in 2013 and had a piece of my skull removed and later, a titanium mesh plate put in. When I was recovering, I'd throw on some Parkway Drive. This and Dark Days are the two songs that helped me get my chops back on bass. If they ever read this, "Thank you so much for indirectly helping me recover and for helping me get my bass skills back by jamming hard to your music " Parkway Drive fan for life \m/
"we are the diamonds that choose to stay coal" my favorite line over a few others in this song
2:18 "We are the ones that refused the bro code."
We are the ones who refused to grow cold
The world is broken.
We are the last choking embers of a fire waiting to burn out.
Long before our grandfathers and their fathers before them, we started pulling our planet apart in the name of progress and blind ambition.
The greed of man has devoured this earth until there was nothing left.
We watch as time eats us alive.
A generation born to witness the end of the world…
FTW Parkway drive!!!!!!!!!!!
the intro in the song just gives me chills
best album for me
The greatest metal song in the last decade 🤘
Any Seth Rollins Visionary theme song fan here...
Hell yeah
Yep
Yep
I don't watch stupid ass WWE LOL, that band is way more badass than Seth Rollins will ever be.
@@rodrigouribe6792 seth rollins will find you! Lol jk
pretty comforting to know that their will still be metal during the apocalyps
Winston knows how to rock the fucking mic like a badass.
This is far too accurate in the worlds current state
Music i would fight to the death to
Seth wasn't joking when he said pwd was his favorite band...his new theme has this all over it
I haven't heard of this band until ire dropped, and I'm wondering how I haven't found them before
Damn, where have you been?
+Justin DeLeon Damn man.. You've missed out on years of quality. haha
+Justin DeLeon Living under a rock? Welcome to PWD! Their old albums are better tbh. Atlas was probably the most well rounded of all the albums.
+Mike D I'll check it out
***** I can tell :)
Parkway Drive is Kick ass!
This needs more views simply for the beneficial message it has.
4 years later and this song is still awesome
I've only started to listen to PW Drive recently. From what I've noticed, their guitar work sets them apart from the rest of the bands I listen to. I love this shit
listen to THE SORROW, i think their guitarwork is better than parkway drive's
jeff ling the genius

Now I hear where everyone is saying Seth Rollins new WWE entrance theme is similar to this. Awesome song.
I always have goosebumps when that part on 2:30 starts.
Such a great guitar
FOREVER THE UNDERDOGS!
Actually its VIVA THE UNDERDOGS mate
dimitriskafetzakis Actually theres both, mate
I like how its supposed to be post apocalyptic and one of the crowd is wearing a suicide silence shirt
+Charlie Crome lol your saying those shirts wouldnt exist in a post apolocalyptic world orr what :S
Yup because having an apocalypse means that all shirts but dull colors and jackets stop existing
+Charlie Crome The great shirt apocalypse.
rekt
Suicide silence existed at one point did they not
My son with Autism found this band when he was a little baby and jammed out to it every time it came on been listening to them ever since .
This band has it all , if your a guitarist , drummer or vocalist youll get hooked on these guys .
That brutal riff at 3:53 sends chills down my spine
I don't see why elitists hate the metalcore scene? Real metalcore is Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, All thay remains, parkway drive & trivium
Zer0 dont forget avenged sevenfold
JohnTheHeavy already on it 😉😉
xD
Probably because metal has more truth in it's music than other genre
In my opinion*
Zer0Mem0ry ABR and Architects. Please add them.
years later, this has to be one of if not the best metalcore in the decade.
Who is here after Seth Rollins mentioned about this song on WWE Backstage?
Imagine Seth using this kickass song for his heel run
Loll me
Me
He just turned
He’s using it now lol
people keep asking me how my neck has grown so big... THIS BAND IS HOW!
Saw them years ago. Some band ended and everyone was walking away from the stage to get drinks and stuff and they started with this.
500 or so people like moth to a flame turned around and swarmed the stage.
Incredible band. So much love and respect 🙌
The guitarists are beasts in Parkway. Show those strings no mercy !
This song is a masterpiece! I'm feel as a visionary
Wwe needs to let Seth Rollins have this theme when he return!
yous a real nigga
+Real Nigga Steve WWE would want an original song...let Corey Taylor write one. He's a wrestling fan and theyre both from Iowa
I could see the while crowd singing to the beginning part it would be insane
wrestling is super gay
don't be so rough..it's just comedy
this band is pretty epic, i normally cant stand the screaming shit but they actually have decent guitar riffs which makes it enjoyable, probably cause they're aussie and basically better than everyone by default
decimus81 COOOL STOOORY BROOOO
how the hell this metalcore masterpiece has only 17m views?
love this SONG!!!!!!! seen these guys so much , almost every perth concert
_Seth Rollins_ brought me here. This is his favourite song, and I can see why. It's pretty cool to know one of my favourite pro wrestlers also enjoys *metalcore*! :)
I still hear the crowd singing along. Finally saw them live on tuesday.
The guitar riff in just about every song they have is amazing. The Guitarest really has a way to speak with his guitar and that is something you dont see often. Most bands dont have a single song where the riff is a stand alone in a song but this band is definatly one of them where they have a lot of songs with some amazing riffs.
The beginning kills me every time. Gives you the chills when the whole audience sings this melody at a concert
Damn...this gave me absolute chills! Amazing stuff
I listened more to this band because of this song. That intro got me lol
It's not a song, it's an anthem 💪
I don't always listen to Parkway Drive, but when I do, I make sure the neighbours do too!
lmao
Thank you, Mr. Seth Rollins.
***** His favourite song, also mentions this was gonna be The Shield's entrance theme.
+Alex Robertson maybe an instrumental version
+El Marco CFC It totally should be his return theme
+El Marco CFC I can see this being his theme. As for Dean and Roman, I'd imagine "My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark" by Fall Out Boy and "You're Not Alone" by Dragonforce.
Yess
WE ARE THE DIAMONDS THAT CHOOSE TO STAY COAL, A GENERATION BORN TO WITNESS THE END OF THE WORLD!
This will always remain on top.
This 7 year old song is so relivent
I hope this ain’t the end of the world lmao
