Parkway Drive...if you see this, thank you for existing for all of us to headbang in unison to this song. and for changing my life in a way no one ever has.
Every time I hear that intro my soul gets ripped apart in such a good way. This song makes me think of loss. Makes me realize that life is short and I want to be a better person. No more greed and all that.
Follow your heart to the water Fill your pockets with stone Throw your arms around me Never let me go You were the first, you wouldn't be the last What the river took, we could never replace And as the pain set in so did the realisation You were never coming home For nights we lay awake Wishing for answers, hoping against all hope And if love could change the course of fate These nights, we move mountains But as the news filtered down the line, the impact shook us Shook us to the core Loss struck like a dagger in our aching hearts So follow your heart to the water Fill your pockets with stone Throw your arms around me Never let me go It's not the years in your life, it's the life in your years Old soul, so it's said The day we lost is the day I found regret Not in the waters that embraced you But in the wake your absence left Sink into me Hold out your hands, sink into me Hold out your hands, I'll take you away Hold out your hands, surrender the weight of this world Follow your heart to the water Fill your pockets with stone Throw your arms around me Never let me go Never let me go
This song reminds me of my girlfriend... I hope someday, I will see you and hug you again! I love you Julia.. You are in a better place than this hell...
"It's not the years in your life, it's the life in your years." I used that line for a friend of mine who was moving away from home who've known since 4th grade. When I gave her the letter the day before she left, she cried all over me cause she was glad that we became good friends. We thankfully still keep in contact once in awhile and writing that letter was a good way to say goodbye. Bittersweet, but it's the one way to show that you care. But thank you to Parkway Drive for also, for writing such incredible music.
+marc flo Vice Grip hates you too. I mean it's a good song, though. If it was by another band no one would be hating as much. It's just not regular PWD. I like the feel good attitude of it. I get why people wouldn't like it though. Bands in the past have done much, much worse.
yeah... I have a special love for PWD until and specially for Atlas... it dropped when I was at high school and was one of the more remarkable albums for me
The starting guitar riff makes me cry every time, I think I heard this song maybe 1000 times and it STILL give me this feeling. Such a good band, I'm sad they went on a different route with their newest album but hey I still enjoy their old shit. Rock on

Songs like this by Parkway Drive helped save my life. I have battled severe depression and suicidal thoughts pretty much my whole life, but listening to Parkway Drive songs have been the ultimate form of therapy to help me through the rough times as of late.

Unluckily idols and anchors is one of the songs I sadly nsver got to listen to. But I'm 100% sure I'll like it. Ive been a fan of them for just 6 months and a true fan for like 2 or 3. And I started listening to metalcore like a year ago. But it's quite an experience.
All I can say is.. Parkway thank you for creating such beautiful music and thank you for being here since 2002, you have always been my favourite band and always will be, this album is beautiful! infact all of them are!

Probably best song on the album. Good dynamics and love the contrast from subtle anguish to biting fury. This song speaks powerfully to those ready to hear it.
