This song is honestly one of my favorites from Parkway Drive. The raw emotion that is delivered at the very end is just beautiful. So much brutality, but so much beauty. One of the many things that makes Parkway so bloody amazing.
e l f t e a r s deginitely agree. they create the perfect mixture of brutality and melody. its beautiful
One I found in a similar vein was crusades from August burns red. Has an amazing outro
+00+++++00
Mine too, could even be my all time favourite
Perfect summary....
This is metalcore's magum opus. No one came close in 2007 and nobody comes close today.
Newer parkway doesn't hold a candle to this
This was their peak for me 💯😍🙌🏼
matt watson reference (magum opus)
Funny you say that when August Burns Red had them beat the same year with Messengers. Never really got into PWD, they sound too much like all the other banana 0-5-7-8 bands. I think you should really broaden your idea of metalcore.
you were not convinced by this song on how Parkway Drive were equals to August Burns Red? @@Henry14arsenal2007
for me Killing With The Smile, Horizon, Deep Blue, Atlas is their peak, but Atlas holds something more for me(if we are talking about old stuff)
The ending sweep picking is one of the most beautiful part of metal history.
He's not sweep picking that.. it's a mixture of tapping and pull on / offs
One of the best Parkway songs, absolutely love it
That sweep picking at the end though 100%
Colby Falkenhagen sweeping and taps in time with each other too. Dope
My favorite part of the entire song. That outro is fun as hell to play
One of their best breakdowns by far
Devin Hay The Best!
i would rather choose boneyards m8
Gimme a d close second/third
Haunting how Winston begins the song with "So it begins" and towards the end of the song he begins screaming "In time, and so it ends..."
Amazing.
Horizons is the last song on the album and Samsara is the first on Deep Blue on purpose. Together they represent life to death being reborn again into a endless suffering existence.
The marks I left upon this world,
Will wash away,
in time.
Beautiful
Thank you Parkway Drive for making this masterpiece
Underrated Song. PWD forever!
+Carlos Salazar That's how I feel about this song /watch?v=F54kPGqKqxY
The intro... just beautiful
Parkway drive - Horizons
Lyrics
So it begins, our eyes turn open
Free from the thorns of doubt
Free from our selfish confine
Our blood restless, ceaseless
With open arms we stand before the dawn
The sun seems to have been rising ever since I can recall
Lending a sense of permanence to this lying world
Your words not worth the air
Your life not worth its weight in flesh
To hope for something more
To dream of substance
Like a million before us, waiting to die
Like a billion before us, waiting to die
Masochistic to think this would be remembered (would be remembered)
Sadistic, perpetuation of stagnation
There is nothing as empty as waiting to die
We spend our lives wasting as time eats us alive
There is nothing as empty as waiting to die
We spend our lives wasting as time eats us alive
The sun seems to have been falling ever since I can recall
The only sense of permanence in this dying world
Sit back and watch as time eats us alive
Everyone who knew me, destined to die
The marks I left upon this world will wash away in time
In time, and so it ends
In time, it all finds an end
In time, and so it ends
In time, we all find an end
With broken arms and hollow eyes
Await our return to oblivion
Embrace our last empty horizon
Embrace our last empty...
Horizons
Horizons
Horizons (horizons)
Horizons
Thank you
The riff that makes up the section that starts at around 2 mins in is so energizing
Came back here after The Greatest Fear.. I still enjoy new Parkway Drive, but man, this was quite literally the magnum opus of Metalcore!
12 year old album, still basically unbeatable.. this shits insane.
Now 16 and still unbeatable
Some serious feels
Takes me back in time, every time.
What a hell of a way to an end an album!
My favourite PD album, a masterpiece
Goosebumps.. Still.
13 years later.
This band made me a better person... now when I go I to the mosh pit I hug people
I normally don't like fade outs but it works perfectly for this song. This album is a masterpiece that stands the test of time!
Perfect way to end the album.
Someone call 9-1-1, cause I just murdered the gym 03:03
3:23 is where the song hits it's best part
3:00*
The intro of this song is somehow buried into my muscle memory. I have no idea how i remember it nor how i can play it as its way over my level of skills
best PWD song. Since I heard this song I embrace every moment as my last HORIZON.
A piece of art
2nd song i heard from these guys way back in 2009 and this was already their 3rd technical album
Beautality
We will always have this record
i love it
It's a shame they don't make music like this anymore
I like that cover picture, it is an empty terrain, nowhere to go, loneliness and a gray weather with storm clouds on the background, like telling you what's coming will be though
3:02 Dude just...just listen to this...Godly riffs Parkway used to make
Sweet sweet music 🎶
this song fucks so fucking hard. i've been listening to this song for like 18 goddamn years now lol
i
Still listening since 2014
YES!
They played this song last night on the Unbreakable tour and I nearly died. My life is complete lol
3:03 HELLRAISING
love this group u take me to the place I want to be fucking rock love you guys
The best album ever created
When you listen to this and then go listen to their new shit you gona cry
God I just fucking love this band never a bad song ever and there story is just incredible
georgous!
There’s nothing as empty as waiting to die
time has eaten me alive
My favorite album. This song and Breaking Point are god tier fuckin amazing
2 0 2 3 and still one of their best 👌🏼
wow....this is so fucking awesomeeee
oooo never heard of themmm
now u won't stop listening to them
honey you got a big storm comin
Their older songs are just so much better if you prefer the darker feel. I can understand why people think their newer songs are better because they're more polished but they just don't hit the same
❤
Aún nada que supere esta joya y dudo que en un futuro algo lo logre
1:43 dear god the tone of those chugs.. if only Adam D produced Deep Blue as well!
I know right !! I like Karma from Deep blue but Horizons is absolutely one of the greatest metal albums out there. And this song is one of my favorite SONGS of all time .. a lyrical and musical masterpiece 🤘
actually i think KWAS is my favourite Parkway Drive album!! every song just goes stupid hard! i love how it sounds unstructured, like they just put random riffs after riffs, and it still sound so freaking good. and yes Horizons (song) is indeed a masterpiece! deserves godhood status in all of metalcore music @@nishanth6403
Surfers Aussies bien énervés!!!On dirait un groupe US ou Scandinave

@Coolidge Owens Yeah youre right
@@darkflame1337 it is true
@@alexiluffy216 I can confirm, it's not true.
This album and KYEO are awesome. The second album after KYEO disapointed me. Sorry. This band is fucking cool though.

kind of reminds me of white chapel...
Dead men chest reminds on whitechapel
it's to melodic to be anything near Whitechapel
except white chapel blows
