@@rebeccatennell2894 it’s referencing their last podcast where a married gals boss made a move on her. The question was unclear if she met him at the hotel bar or his hotel room during a work trip - Jon got a lot of back lash for “victim blaming” cause he told everyone not to go to the opposite sex’s hotel room

  • @JoshuaGipson

Victim blaming is a thing but what Jon did is not victim blaming…. Two things can be true. The boss shouldn’t be a terrible person, AND she can also use best judgment, (especially being in a relationship) and not put herself in that position. 🤷🏽‍♂️

John is 100% right, you wouldn’t go to someone’s hotel room if you were in a relationship. Walking home in the dark might be the only way they can get home. Meeting in their hotel room is like meeting them in their bedroom at home, just weird when you can meet downstairs in the lobby or restaurant.

I agree with John. Just don’t fucking go to a hotel with anyone if you’re in a relationship. Point. Blank. Period. I don’t care if it’s my boss. I would have just suggested to meet somewhere else.

I think John is right. Even as a single woman, I wouldn’t go to my bosses hotel room for security and potential impropriety reasons. There is a level of common sense EVERYONE should have. As a woman, I should be able to walk at night without worrying, but that’s not the case in real life, it’s dangerous, so I’ll limit potential dangers where I can.

  • @trinityelebiary

I agree with John! Justifying her behaviors, isnt going to change cultural dynamics. We 100% make men And women accountable for their actions.
Are we gonna go play monopoly!? No, we all know what the hotel room insinuates.
    She was wrong. Easier way to put it ;
You dont want to get fat dont eat chocolate cake.
The women was 100% wrong for going into the hotel room. Its not victim blaming its making a grown women accountable.
Women these days tend to blame men for a lot of situations.
Women want loyal men hold your own gender accountable as well.

My wife and I stand with John. Holding an offender accountable and taking personal responsibility for your inability to mitigate risk as it pertains to placing yourself in inappropriate settings aren’t mutually exclusive. FAR from victim-blaming.
If John felt personally attacked for being lumped into a category of people who are insensitive to victims, by all means let the man defend himself.
Not everyone has common sense, so we need more people to educate others about minding the pros and cons of your decisions beforehand.

Regarding the gamer: Ouch, that sounds exactly like my daughters bio. I'm curious if that's him and his current gf/fiance lol! Anyways, it was a serious problem. I spent 3 years hoping it would get better and it never did. I LOVE games, but I know what I value and I make those things a priority above video games. It ended after I kept coming home from work and he couldn't even feed, bathe, change the babies diapers, and I would get home from work at 11pm and find my sweet babies asleep on the cold linoleum floor. I had to send my mother to my apartment to check on the babies because I couldn't trust him to do the right thing. I have zero regrets about moving on. You and your future deserve better. I'm confident after four years you have addressed the issue MANY times. Best wishes to you friend. Keep in mind, what we value determines what we will do.

23:50 Coming from a woman who has only been with 1 guy for 25 years. I also had a problem reaching an orgasm. It isn't always the guy that needs to help the woman climax. If you aren't allowing yourself to feel connected, he isn't able to help you. And if anything, you're may give him a bad complex and honestly wouldn't know what to do to help you. You have to learn how to move in a way that pleasures yourself (not maturbation) and tell him what you like. That's the only way you're going to be able to figure it out. If you're not comfortable doing that, then it's an insecurity in yourself that you need to work through. If you can't get past that, then there's more than just sex and orgasms that's standing in the way of your relationship.

Regarding telling your partner about a past abortion: if the abortion is effecting you mentally/emotionally/physically and it’s effecting your ability to function or it’s changed your view on some major life aspects, tell him about the abortion. If you feel any emotional turmoil over the abortion, he should know about it so he can understand you and your actions/emotions in the future. If the abortion has not effected you negatively, and you don’t need his support to deal with it, then don’t feel obligated to tell him.

Whenever we dogsit and have 3+ dogs here and it's wet outside we set up a bunch of towels just inside the door and put a pen around it so we can all hang out on the towels until paws are dry. Thick fluffy towels and comforters seem to work best to help get the paws dry. I've seen mud mats which are supposed to be good for this too but we haven't tried them.

Thank you Alex for your rational commentary, before you even gave your examples to help Jon try to understand I had ‘kid in a hoodie’ and Treyvon Martin in the back of my mind. Like regardless of what a person wears, or does, that 100% doesn’t justify another person that acts against them. Regardless of prevailing opinion. There was a period of time when prevailing opinion was women couldn’t vote or own homes not to mention much more despicable policies. All these people arguing the woman should know better, miss the point that Alex was making about victim blaming generally which is, it doesn’t matter! Also, replay the question because at no point did the woman say it was her boss’s room. And yes a public space like the hotel bar is very different. Jon just own that you disagree with this particular woman’s actions and hold her responsible for part of the outcome but as far as not victim blaming, you’re still wrong, because that’s exactly what that amounts to. Just in this scenario many people are willing to focus blame on the ‘victim’ here along with you.

Solution to your dogs black feet smudges: replace carpet with wood or tile. I know that's a major change. Short term solution is a rug that fits in the wash that can be placed by the door. Is this a problem that will resolve once you're not getting rain? I have a dog too and that would be very annoying. You also could replace mulch with playground mulch. They sell it at big box stores. I'm 110% on Jon’s side here. Like no doubt about it. It's not victim blaming and I think people who jump to that as a first response need to take a minute and think about it. Because as an individual, keeping yourself safe and out of harms way is your responsibility and if someone violates that - they absolutely should be held accountable - but it's a little too late at that point. Why not rely on yourself. No ones going to look after you like you.

Totally agree that when you're in a relationship, your sex life is both of your responsibilities! If you need help doing xyz in ANYTHING, your partner should be part of that work with you. It's not 100% their responsibility but they share it for sure.

We don't pump in NJ...we're not expected to tip. They want us in and out lol. I'm sure they'd appreciate it but there's no tipping jars. And they don't wait for a tip either LOL

I totally agree with Jon. It's inappropriate to go to your male boss's hotel room. Period.

I agree with John. Both parties need to take accountability and that means looking at it like another man’s hotel room, which she did say hotel room. Not bar. And tried to use it as an excuse bc her husband was friends with her boss.

My husband’s ex started a podcast with some friends. She had released a few episodes when he got word that in their recent episode they talked about their exes and my husband was the ex she talked about. He listened to it and then talked to me about it and I was initially pissed that he wanted to know what she was saying. But after he explained why he did it (their relationship ended pretty badly and he felt bad for some things that were said) I knew he needed some type of closure from that horrible time he went through. She talked about one of the first fights they had and made my husband sound like a complete asshole, but nothing from their break up

I’m with John on this one … I would neeeevver in a million years ever go to a bosses hotel room or even hotel bar either one! Because I’m like that’s just not appropriate even if your boss knows you’re married you just don’t go there … yes her boss shouldn’t be awful but it’s also pretty common sense to not go to someone’s hotel

Jon you were not victim blaming at all. My boss is a male and we are friends but if we were on a work trip I wouldn't even consider going to hang out in a hotel room alone with him or any of my male coworkers, it should be in a public setting out of respect for my husband and it would be the same if my husband was on a work trip (his boss is female) there's no excuse. BUT her boss should have never put her in that position to begin with.
I think regardless of gender/ sexual preference, his point was valid. If it was in a hotel room, why go? Even if nothing happened and it was just two friends hanging out, I just know my husband, or I would if he was in that situation, would be like wtf why were you in did you end up in their hotel room? To me it comes not from lack of trust but more respect for your partner, that was point I think Jon was making 🤷‍♀
