    For the woman who's boyfriend is going to another woman's home to sleep...dump him, girl. If someone loves you, they wouldn't put themselves in a situation where questions about their loyalty can be raised. You deserve better!!

      DUMP HIS ASS!!! 🗣️ If my boyfriend of SEVEN YEARS told me he has more fun hanging out with a girl when I’m NOT there, GOODBYE SIR! He should go be in a relationship with the ‘best friend’ then. If you’re boyfriend really loved you he’d want to be doing all those things (getting drunk, singing songs, wrapping his arm around your waist) with you and not some other girl.

    To the girl who left her abusive husband and is afraid of dating: I was single for 3 years after my abusive relationship before even being open to be dating. Time doesn't matter but what does matter is trusting yourself and trusting that you will recognize the red flags, also remember how strong you are and what you've gotten through in your life and know that you can get through anything again

    Alex is so right about the woman who is now religious and her boyfriend isn’t. It’s not always an end all be all, butttt most of the time you can end up with 2 totally different sets of morals, lifestyles, and ways you want to raise your children that do not align. That is really important in a relationship to have similar values and people will naturally long to have partners who align with them like that.

    Alex is right about the religion situation. It might not matter in this specific stage of the relationship, but once you get married, and then have kids, religion plays specific parts in those stages of life. So why wait until then to deal with it? I was raised Catholic and married a Muslim. It was very important for his family that we had an Islamic wedding ceremony. If I was not okay with it it would have been the tragic end of a 14 year relationship. We have been together since 16 years old but even then we knew then the importance of religion in his culture and family. And when the time came there was no conflict.

    To the woman with the new found faith;
    (with respect to Jon & Alex)
    I think the way the conversation went with Jon & Alex is a prime example of what Alex was trying to communicate.
    Just as an example:
    Jon representing a wordly view
    Alex representing a religious view
    Values are important and should be foundational for any and every relationship. If you do not have basic common values - it's bound to crumble.
    Also, your partner (like Jon - in this case... Not saying he never will - but there will be many STRONG disagreements and opposite view points that will MATTER to you personally and WILL strain your relationship)
    Don't wait to see how far along down the road you're able to make it until it doesn't work!
    Make a conscious and informed decision (based on what matters to you as individuals and then as a couple).
    If you're meant to be together, then let God bring your paths together in HIS timing.
    I dont know what faith you've found, but if it's Christianity... There is a verse that instructs us not to be unevenly yoked. Why? Because your relationship will hinder your number one relationship with God.
    That doesn't mean God is anti relationships, He created us for relationship. It just means our relationships should be built on the foundations of your relationship with God.
    Hope that helps and makes sense.

    • @Laurel_Kay
      @Laurel_Kay 11 місяців тому

      And Jon is right, it doesn't have to be an ultimatum...
      But consider this, God doesn't force you to make a decision and He'll respect your decision to choose who you want to be with.
      Just know that God knows what's best for you... But you can't have your cake and eat it. You're either all in, all out or on the fence... Dont be the last two options.
      Again, I am assuming this new faith is Christianity... If not then I hope this still helps in some way.

      I am with Jon. You can make things work, breaking up is not the answer for all kinds of indifferences.
      Just respect each other’s beliefs. And as Jon said, he would go to the church for her once in a while because it doesn’t matter. Its a different story if she starts pushing him to do something he doesn’t want to and make him feel bad about himself or vice versa. But that can happen with anything, be it religion, money, food, hobby etc

    Responding to the girl who wants butterflies: Butterflies are fun, but to me the security of a long-term relationship where you're both still in love and evolving over the years is even sweeter. Get the thought of wanting butterflies out of your mind so you can be present in your relationship and look for things between you that bring you joy. There's also role-play haha. Like go to a bar and pretend you're meeting for the first time then go make out in the bathroom, idk I saw that in a movie and I think it'd be so fun haha

    I think you guys are a tad harsh about people who are in a long term relationship and miss the spark. I think it’s super normal to go through that transition period and feel a little weird about change. I still think you should be confident, happy, and fulfilled in your relationship, but there’s a pretty big difference between “wanting to experience butterflies” and “wanting a new partner.”
    I think just knowing that your feelings are normal is enough to put them to rest. And if not, then THAT’S the sign that it may be something bigger.
