There's a thing called learned helplessness, where a person believes he or she can not do something even more every time he or she sucks in that. This is what leads to giving up anything in life. The one who suck in something tends to believe things and life in general are really hard due to it. And it's a thing which is definitely not easy to deal with.
Now let me make a compliment: you have such a delicious voice.

Mei, you're awesome! Of all the people I watch on UA-cam, you're the one I look forward to watching the most. You have a great mix of philosophy and creativity on your channel. You also come across as such a lovely person.
What you say is right. If you end up in denial about sucking at something, the only person you end up fooling is yourself. Recognising you suck at something is the gateway to taking on the responsibility of improving.
Knowing your current limits is also helpful, because you can push against them to expand them without pushing too hard and failing catastrophically.

I can relate to this so much! I’m in my first few months working in sales, which is completely new to me, and I’ve faced a lot of different challenges. TBH it’s tough! But hearing your perspective I realized that actually admitting you “Suck at something” isn’t seems like a bad thing, cuz no one is perfect and just try to be honest of something can really make you to get more experience and make progress! Thx for sharing your thoughts and that’s really trueeeeee!!😀
然后最后真的就是感觉你很像一个人生的引路人哈哈, also like a teacher (像老师!!always encouraging or pushing us to achieve our goals!!

Hey meiqii, just wanna share a bit. I found your videos on my yt homepage randomly, several months ago. And your thoughts in it was so interesting that it made me subscribed and watched lot of your videos after that, up until this time.
In hindsight though, for youth like us, it's been kinda hard to find people who still stick boldly to their principle, or at least I wanna put it "a little braver mentally". I know it's hard to do so in this times, but there came you in this channel. You're giving this vibe of "hey, we're together fighting for our dreams."
I could see the dedication and pure intention in it.
And I was pretty much helped too, when I found myself in stuck moments or a bit overwhelmed with all my works, hobbies, and stuff.
What you're doing, helps people to get to know themselves little by little, sustain them in hopes and dreams, and inspire them to keep working on their passion.
Keep up the good work, girl.
It's been touching many souls, opening many eyes, and I believe will be reaching out to more people. Time to time ;)

I really can't thank you enough for this video. This is exactly my situation rn. My half yearly exams just ended and for a fact it did not went well. Being a good student all school years this hit me hard and i felt like a failure. I acknowledge that i procrastinated i wasted time i made a hell lot of mistakes and as you said i used to daydream, i was always in a delusion that 'everything will work out I don't need to do this rn' (spoiler alert it infact DID NOT work out). Being in this 'rock bottom' i feel was necessary for me to understand the importance of things and solve my mistakes i mean this situation is what is meant for me to become a stronger and better person. I promise myself and to you that i will work hard and achieve better in my finals.
( Started watching you some time ago and randomly decided to subscribe and am happy that it was a fruitful decision byee ily 🤍.)

When you talked about "That guy who hasn't picked that brush in 5 years and who's finally picking it up", that kinda uppercut me in the jaw. I'm that guy.
Been drawing for more than 30 years since my early childhood, then after a massive burnout due to working in the animation industry, it's been over a decade I haven't even picked up a pencil for anything personal. To this day, my brushes are still waiting for me to pick them up
    ...

bro i bet youre in my walls because ive been struggling with studying and especially maths even thoughive always been this "prodigy" or whatever but these days i felt like my ego was eating me up until today i solved my first past paper and instead of a perfect mark as usual i got barely a 89 but its just the thought of having to tell myself that i suck or that i wont be able to do as good as before after my slump that i had a few months ago, the thought itself is the struggle likei cant get myself to struggle like i should soi can achieve the goal i have but as you said almost no one knows how im going by or if im as good or not so idk what to do like how to face things without ego?

Your dreams are yours. Theirs are theirs. Stop to compare and start to take action. Break the thing you want in small simple steps that you can achieve easily. Think on other things as a way to get what you want. Stop looking to others' success as if they are better than you, and start to look as if they can get that, you can also succeed, counting that they were born with the same capacity as yours. Learn with them what they made to get there, and follow their steps.
