    One thing Management didn't tell us is that Bosco can succ up the lithofoam when pinged. This makes solo play a lot faster and possible when boils are really far away.

    I love love love that they're keeping the rival events in the game. It's not the fear of missing out I'm personally worried about on this topic, it's just the general idea of removing content. Dealing with rival content in the way they did with this transition into Season 3 adds so much variety into the game, I can't even imagine what this game will look like in 5 years.

    I too, will be buying the hazmat suits.
    It also fits perfectly with drillers sludge pump.
    Edit: After messing around with different cosmetics, the hazmat suits go perfectly with the rusty colossus paintjob, on all 4 classes.

      Driller doesn’t like getting any sludge on his armor, so it helps. It also fits in well with his flamethrower, in a sort of “The Thing” style.

    it was kind of a glossed over part of the video but the new 1-Complexity Sabotage is really fun and greatly improves its status of "I only kinda wanna do this once a week" mission. The Power Stations generate either in the same room as the Caretaker or really close which eliminates any and all backtracking. Considering the Caretaker is still a considerably long fight, I believe they could go one step further and have a 1-Length variation where you only need to hack 1 Power Station. As of writing this, the payout for the 1-2 Sabotage is about the same as Elimination, which adds some much needed consistency

      I just did one of these the other night, I thought it was just a lucky seed or a side effect of the new cave gen. I didn't realize low-complexity Sabotage was a deliberate feature, that's really cool.

    I spent some time studying Latin and Greek root words, and I'd like to point out that "Lithophage" comes from greek "Lithos", meaning "Stone", and greek "Phagein", meaning "Devour", so we get The Lithophage, or Stone Devourer. pretty cool detail by the devs, right?
    They could've called this thing anything but instead they went ahead and used real world language rules....or they chose it because it sounds cool.

      Phages (or bacteriophages) in biology are viruses that specifically infect bacteria and archaea, so as a biologist that was the first thing I was thinking about! So a phage that infects rocks, pretty cool.

    They increased the spawn rate of Crates so it spawns like Helmets/Lost Armor does. Now to catch up for a great many hours with minimal spawns.
    Also the new Lithophage modifier increases nitra spawns, since it adds a primary objective.

    There's one really awesome thing my group noticed, which is that some of the Spacerig decorations appear to be randomised or cycling. So the appearance of it changes just a little between visits. That's really fun.

    The ripper competes with C4 for top teamkiller weapon for driller. It's kinda hilarious the lengths the blades sometimes go just to hit scout.

    One new thing I noticed with cave generation (I encountered it on some salvage and egg hunt missions) are some tunnels that lead to dead ends, and don’t just always loop back.
    There were at least three rooms in those caves that were just empty, with barely or no ressources inside and tunnels leading to them.
    And I welcome this more varied way to not just having new rooms but organizing them in whole new patterns !

      Now that you said it, I find it p weird for a game focused on deep dark cave exploration (and shooty bugs) have small amount, if any, dead end caves/tunnels. Bring em all in, I say! Heck, Deepnest biome when.

    I think the Lithopage warning could be moved to its own mission type, where your entire mission goal is to kill a sufficient amount of infected glyphids that will be scattered around the level, along with any that spawn from waves. In essence the mission goal would say "Clean x lithopage spikes & kill 200 infected glyphids".
    But to make things more interesting than your average mission, the level layout should contain these fortified dens or nests of glyphids that really give the dwarves a fight. Instead of waves coming for us, we are coming for them.

    The meteors make me wish for more complications that can replace the usual swarm. Say... a bot raid, or a load of parasites popping out of the ground, or an infected Dottie miniboss, or an one of those exploding ghosts showing up for a little while.

      Infected Dottie would be pretty awesome. Turning around then charging at the players suddenly, it might need some other attacks though, perhaps from the infection.
      And you could still choose to save her.

    Minor correction, you can encounter 1-4 contagion spikes per mission. I had that earlier today, idk if 4 is the limit but I can’t imagine it being higher. Otherwise, nice work.

    About beer and general drinking, on the lithophage container by the Bosco station the screen says: "%safe.for.brew~46.786%". Alluding to the fact that maybe the dwarves are crazy enough to make beer out of the Rockpox, which would bring at least one more beer to the menu at The Abyss Bar.
    However, in a voice message from Mission controll when you knock on lithophage containers, he says they are not submerged in alcohol, and that we can't drink it. But I don't believe him...

    I just joined a few days ago, and honestly some of the most fun I've had so far has been jumping around between my Gemini Turrets and the Rock Cracker thingies on Engi and just constantly keeping everything at full. So so glad that Rival Presence has set the precedent that previous season's events won't be gone cause I love meteor cracking. Also the stuff inside the meteor are wonderfully icky.

    Love the new grenades. You weren't kidding about the Engineer's shredder swarm, those are extremely handy because they can seek out enemies anywhere. Great for swarms

    I am psyched to play plaguefall. I liked everything I've seen so far except the weapon frameworks but I guess we'll see. And the moment that dlc pack drops I'm going to throw money at it. As long as Ghost ship keeps putting out quality content ill keep throwing my cold hard earned cash at them

    I absolutely adore all the meteor events. They're quick, change terrain, affect you and enemies, have combination of building and fighting, make you move and panic a bit. It's AWESOME.

    When cleaning the lithophage spikes in solo mode - bosco can/will vacuum up any foam you place. Although he prioritizes fighting, so sometimes its annoying when he wont just vacuum up the last bit.

    Honestly one of my favorite changes this season was the buffs to the scouts weapons. the GK2 got some great buffs that put the gun in a much better place and give it some more build variety and some of the scout OCs that were pretty bad before (supercooling chamber, gas recycling, electrifying reload) got buffed. if you haven't tinkered with your scout builds recently now its a great time to try some new stuff out.

    I was so on board and then you mentioned the rival content changes and I nearly rocked and stoned in my trousers. I am so tired of rival presence missions being mandatory. They're fun, don't get me wrong, but they all just take so long. Reduced spawn rate for prospector and nemesis is fantastic, reduced hacking speed and bot health is FANTASTIC.

    You can have multiple meteorites per mission. I was solo pumping the liquid morkite yesterday in Azure. The first metoerite impacted during setting of the lanes and the second impacted during last few percentages. One gunner joined me later after the first cracking, before the second meteorite. We was confused by it for moment. But we stoped repairing the lines, we cracked the second one and finished the mission. We got 6 hearts total, 3 from both. Now i wonder how many meteorites can impact during one mission ...

    "Performance updates" sounds nice but when I clear out a lithophage spot and all the rock turns not-infected with that cool effect, my Steam Deck grinds down to like 35 fps until the effect is over.

    shredders as a grenade now is a fantastic touch! Imagine if they take a little bit of tech/theme from each previous season to benefit the arsenal of the next? that would be a great addition!

    A small thing you forgot to mention about the Driller's grenades is that they changed the HE grenades so you can cook 'em before you throw 'em, effectively shortening the fuse. Between the 6 grenades and the more reliable fuse, I actually like them now (speaking as someone who tried HEs before the changes)

    Definitely a step forward in terms of how Seasonal content is handled. It's presence is felt without being overbearing, or demanding. Past seasons forced you to do multiple robot missions, which were (in retrospect) maybe not the most well-balanced missions.
    Having the main "thing" be a mutator or random event lets players more or less play the game how they want, playing the missions they wanna play.
    Also, I'm glad the focus on new weapons/tools is smaller. I've seen people complaining that there's "less content" this time around, many were expecting a whole new batch of weapons, which is... insane, to me. Weapons take a long time.
    And people forget that new weapons were planned _before_ Seasons were a thing. They just so happened to come up with the Seasonal update idea and toss the new weapons in there. A smart idea, but unfortunately seems to have given some people the impression that every Season is going to be absolutely massive in scale.
    I mean, if every new Season either added new weapons or mission types, we'd eventually have massive bloat in terms of options. Too many choices _can_ be a bad thing. I'm expecting Seasons to generally get smaller and smaller in scale, but nonetheless remain their new way of introducing weapons and mission types from now on.
    I just... can't understand how people complain about free content, though. Of course 'free' doesn't mean it can't be criticized, but saying, "I want more this isn't enough!" isn't criticism, it's entitlement.
    At the end of the day though, DRG is still steadily growing and the number of cool, friendly players who actually care about the game will only grow with it. Whiners are temporary, miners are forever. Rock and stone.

      I agree about the weapons part. New weapons are cool but a new set every season will definitely become overwhelming. I think the new seasons from now on will focus more on adding new missions and hazards with the occasional new loadout item - and that's probably way easier for the devs to design and balance.

    Night Hawk made a comment about "Mandatory Overtime", Which made me think about Splatoon 3's Salmon run's Xtra wave. So I thought about commenting an idea that had a similar "This was not part of the job" vibe to it.
    When you press the button for the drop pod, A few seconds after the pod has dropped, The timer stops, Glitches, And when MC finishes his speech and the event starts, The timer starts at the time for the event, though Molly will still return to the pod. I have an idea that every season adds a new "Mandatory Overtime" event.
    Pre-Seasons: Glyphid Mother: "That is one BIG UGLY bitch."
    When the escape pod drops, A massive Glyphid screech roars through-out the cavern, Followed by MC telling you this:
    "Miners, We just detected a gigantic blip on the radar. The impact from the Escape pod has woken up something BIG, We think it might be a Glyphid mother. We can't risk it Attacking the Escape pod So we're activating the plasma shielding. I've delayed the pod return timer for ten minutes, But we won't deactivate the shielding until the mother is dead, Get ready to fight for your lives. Good luck Dwarves..."
    A Glyphid Mother will spawn, A glyphid even bigger and tougher than the bosses from extermination missions, The pod is covered in shielding similar to the bubble shield around the rival data vault. You have ten minutes to kill it, Once it's dead, The timer stops and Mc chimes in saying:
    "WELL DONE DWARVES! It's no small feat to see a Glyphid Mother and tell the tale, Let alone kill the damn thing. You've made all mining operations in the area easier for the foreseeable future. Get to the pod, Get back up here and have a few rounds on the house. Don't worry, DRG'll just dock it from your pay checks."
    The timer has 2 minutes added on to it, And the shielding goes down, Allowing you to get on the pod and escape.
    Season 1:Droid Factory: "What kind of COWARD send robots to do a dwarves' job?"
    When the pod drops, A seond impact follows, And MC will chime in with some news:
    "Hold on miners, It seems that we've gotten some intel that our rivals have their eyes on that area too. In fact, They're about to send down a droid factory in order to try and take over the area, While you've managed to take most of what that place has to offer, Giving them a foothold on Hoxxes in any way is not an option. We can't risk them finding the pod, But we are delaying the timer for 20 minutes. hunt down the factory, And find a way to destroy it, Good luck miners..."
    A droid factory, A piece of rival tech about the size of a shield generator, will land in a part of the cave. You have to find it from the sounds it emits, And sabotage the 2 heatsinks on the side by hammering them in, Once done, the front will burst open in order to keep the core from overheating, Giving you the opportunity to blast away at the core before the heatsinks can reset, All the while, The factory is spawning droid to attack you. Once the core destroyed, The factory emits a massive energy surge that destroys any remaining droids, And MC congratulates you over the radio:
    "Excellent job miners, That'll show our rivals that metal and circuitry will never beat flesh and bone dwarves, DRG thanks you for your hard work. Get to the Escape pod, And head home."
    An extra five minutes are added to the timer and the pod doors open.
    Season 2: Rival Hijack: "Now they're taking our hard work? I'm going to have to introduce my pickaxe to these rival assholes."
    When the pod arrives, 3 more impacts also sound across the caves, Followed by MC announcing some troubling news over the radio:
    "Miners, Can you hear me? Our rivals are trying to hack the pod's navigation matrix, They're trying to reroute it's return path to one of their stations, You need to find the rival hacking droids they've dropped before they manage to finish the job and leave you without a ride home, Our tech-heads are trying to hold them off, But they say you've got about 15 minutes before they get in. Good luck miners..."
    Three Hac-Es (Similar to DRG's Hac-Cs, But with the rivals design and colour pallet.) Will be dotted around the map, You need to find and hack them, At which point their glow will turn from orange to blue, And continue hacking away, Once all three have been hacked, MC will call in:
    "Not the way I expected you to deal with the problem, But the forethought of hacking the Hac-Es is appreciated, Our tech boys are "reversing the data-stream and extracting information from their main data-center"... I don't know what that means, But the higher-Ups say they're giving us a bonus for it, Get to the pod, And head back up here.
    An extra 5 minutes are added and the pod doors open.
    Season 3:Dormant Lithophage: "This stuff is like Glyphid blood, It gets EVERYWHERE!"
    When the pod arrives, A groaning sound will ring across the map, Followed with MC Telling you about the development:
    "Come in miners: We have an issue, It seems the pod dropping has awoken a dormant Lithophage meteor, It's spreading across the cavern at a terrifying rate. We need you to track it down and clean it, Leaving it as is risks it spreading across the region. We're delaying the pod's recall for 15 minutes, So act quick. Good luck miners..."
    A contagion spike spawns somewhere in the cavern, The whole thing pretty much play similar to a Lithophage outbreak with only one spike and a time limit. Find it, Call a cleaning pod and clean up the spike, At which point MC will call in:
    "Good job miners, The dormant ones waking up always seem to spread the fastest. DRG's setting by a nice bonus for dealing with this inconvenience before it became a problem, Come on back."
    An extra five minutes will be added, and the pod doors will open.
    Maybe I'll come back to this when new seasons drop, If I remember.

    you don't understand how powerful the new gunners grenade is. it's stupid powerful against large enemies such as a bulk or a boss. toss 3-4 down and it will instantly delete a bulk

    As a new player (I only just started this weekend) the random meteors have been the _BANE_ of my existence. All of my missions' caves are low-complexity, and typically what happens is either the one big meteor and/or multiple small ones end up destroying the one way in and out of an area. Engineer can at least get by with some platforms, but so far I've aborted two missions (one for the gunner and one for the scout) because I couldn't work my way around the burning AoE. I wish there was a way to opt-out of the event or something.

    Really impressed with the cosmetic tree this season. I love the weapon frameworks, and all the dwarf cosmetics I really want to have. Definitely their best one so far

    I did the spray vacuum mission during a morkite mining mission. It was a little difficult due to the giant horde of infected bugs that showed up just as I ran out of ammo. I ended up having to slay a bunch of loot bugs to get enough nitra to call down a resupply. Luckily it was a giant map and I kept running in wide circles until I was able to grab ammo. Very fun.

    Best place to throw the gunner grenade is at your feet. There is a small, dwarf sized, safe zone right on top of the grenade where no bullets land. Basically an offensive shield.

    as a Gunner Main, i adore the Leadburster. my favorite thing to do with it is kite a horde and throw it into the middle of them to clear out as many as possible. the only complaint i have about it is that it will bounce off of the bugs which delays activation and can make a difference if you need it to hit the ground NOW rather than half a second from now.
    having to go solo because Sony is a butt makes other problems noticeable, such as Bosco prioritizing attacking the bugs over vac'ing up the foam. a change i'd like to see for Bosco is him targeting weak spots on bugs you ping directly, which would be a tremendous boon as the glyphids never target him anyway.

    I bought the game after I saw people talking about it in overwatch subreddit,
    The New DLC armors are dope and I couldn't skip them I had to buy them,
    What suprised me the most is that I managed to make friends on my first day playing, I cannot wait to get out of work and go to ROCK AND STONE!

    Note: the SSG is very good against lithopage swarms. The circling attacks it does usually pop all the blisters, so you can just sit back and be cautious while letting the drones clear everything. Me and my friends all ran these on a 3 spike, haz 5 misson, and even with haz 5 3 player scaling, the drones handled these enemies with little to no effort. Very fun

    tested it in experimental and I got 3 metheors in the doreta mission dunno if they incresed the chances for experimental but I wish its going to be in the normal game

      Those are Xynarch Charge-Suckers on BET-C, and they're actually a Hoxxes-native life form.

      It's funny, I brought this up too. The infections on the Grunts/Praetorians are basically a 1:1 replica of the concept art for BET-C's charge suckers. I'd imagine if BET-C came out this season, and not years earlier, they would've explained it as the same infection.
      If you're curious, DRG Historian has videos on the dev streams where concept art is leaked. He shows the concept art for BET-C, and you can see the infections were once the exact same shape as the Plague infections we have now.
      This actually makes me incredibly happy, some of their older concept art is *amazing* and I'm glad they don't just throw it out. I wonder what other cool stuff we'll get from old concept art?

    fun fact, even thought mission control says that you should stay teh fuck away from the infected bugs, the drills are the BEST weapon to get rid of rockpox glyphids since they pop whatever is in that 3 dimentsiona cube of a hit box
