thank you all for the support on this one. this has been in the works since early november and its lovely to see all the positive comments. thank u ♥️
You have no business being this good of an content creator
Love this content and I must say your editing skills are great, I’m so glad you are here to make these types of videos
You are pretty good at explaining and Editing, keep up the good work sir
your channel is so underrated when compared to how big drg got over the years. your videos are such high quality that i was really shocked to see that you have "only" 3.6k subs right now i'd absolutely love to make you my go to channel when it comes to drg videos. recommending you to everyone i know that plays drg, keep up the good work, miner
Ur entertaining my mans stay happy
You forgot the most important part. That if you press reload on a weapon whilst it still has a full magazine you get these really cool fidgeting animations with your weapons.
yeah i spam the bulldog one all the time. gun go spinnin
@@sniss I have a tic that if i dont press the reload on buldog every 5 seconds when its in my hand, i start to feel like i'm about to commit suicide.... In game btw

"I'm not a nerd-boy" Sniss says while making a super in depth analysis of guns in a video game
Not just a video game, but deep rock galactic
dweeb sure throws a lotta heat for a dweeb
…it’s hardly super in-depth.
That would ACTUALLY be nerd-boy stuff. Numbers, stars, all kinds of information.
Thats the joke
Yo Mums a nerd boi
One of DRG's designers here. Awesome video as usual. This one was very nice to me. You mention a lot of details that brought many memories of all the discussions that led to those decisions. We landed where we are because we thought it was the best choice, but you never know! So it's great to see they clicked for you.
Sometimes we went into so many details during those discussions that I would think "would anyone ever notice this stuff?". Well, apparently some nerd did ;)
Having few weapons with a lot of customization was the result of being a small team, but also a design principle. We wanted every choice to matter and be drastically different. Having 10 slightly different assault rifles was an option, but it simply didn't feel right for the game. However, what was initially a pragmatic choice, has turned into a lot of work. Creating so many modifications for each weapon has been a huge challenge. Every upgrade should feel meaningful and different, but it should also not invade the space of another weapon, and yeah, it has to be balanced. The only way to do this was by creating many new systems: fear, temperature, armor, electricity, weakpoints,... Which means that enemies have to be created with all this in mind. So much to keep track off, but still happy we went this route.
By the way! The main inspiration for having different crosshairs per weapon was Vanquish, terrific game.
Any chance at all to get out-of-class weapons? I've promoted stupidly often and would love for instance using the scouts AR as an engineer, or the engi's shotgun as a gunner or whatever. I understand its not intended as is, but for LATE game players maybe?
@@GundamReviver that is an interesting concept, however I think that might muddle class identity. One of the games strengths is that each of the classes plays completely differently and has unique offerings and combat approaches, and limitations. Swapping weapons with other classes provides interesting choices and customization, but it also creates strange class hybridization which can infringe on the intended class balance. Those are my thoughts anyway, if they want to maintain very distinct class identities then they probably want to have weapons adhere to those identities very strictly.
Nice to see a little insight into the game!
@@TrairFrair maybe it could be some kind of random modifier, where you got random weapons. It would still be rare, but it would exist.
It's the engi shotgun for me, I mean a dwarf with a shotgun feels so right.
honestly gotta agree that shotgun is perfection
@@sniss it's honestly really good... But I'd gladly trade it in for the scouts AR
If I had a nickel for every class-based shooter where my favorite play-style was "Engineer slamming down turrets and going ham with a shotgun", I'd have 2 nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice, right?

Hey man. Thanks for the shoutout, appreciate it ❤️
Yes I find reloads extremely important in first person shooters. It’s one of the very few ways you can add personality to the characters and weapons, when you can’t see your character. And they are a lot of fun to make 🙂
Keep making great videos 🤜🤛
Good job for that sick ass bulldog animation. Top break revolvers are my favorite reload type ever. Thank you sir

Neurotoxin makes it rain bugs!

Fun fact about hoverclock: if you hipfire while in the air, you can gain a lot of vertical and horizontal mobility
Also if you time it right you don't take fall damage
@@snipergunner1761 This is what makes it #1 overclock for M1000 for me. I like doing idiotic tricks with Scout class and practically negating fall damage when it inevitably goes wrong really saves many of my runs.
Only when playing on someone else’s lobby, it’s actually a glitch
I absolutely love that every single gun in this game has its own unique and dynamic crosshair. It's just another example of the amazing polish and attention to detail. You are not alone sniss.
Warthog crosshair fits perfectly on top of a grunt's face :)

You put so much effort into these videos, and do such aa good job, that I look forward to them. Even in a game where I've already put in hundreds of hours and already know all of the things you talk about. Your style and aesthetics are just so pleasing.
When I did the opening tutorial the other day, I was quite surprised at how the minigun felt like it took _forever_ to bust bugs but the revolver just busted 'em in like two shots.
I, on the other hand, have the Cryo cannon as my favorite weapon. The main reason is that frozen enemies take much more melee damage. This paired with the drills, throwing axe and vampire can make a build that thrives while being surrounded by enemies. Building the cryo cannon to do full freeze can completely cange your playstile and also helps single out big targets. Combining thus all together you basically spin, shooting cryo to freeze everyone around you, then spin back around with the drills to regain to full health.
Also I love the EPC because it makes my team not so reliant on the scout/engineer combo to gather minerals. It takes a lot of time to learn, but the payout is very impactful and satisfying.
The weapons from DRG are so engaging. All of them feel right and it kind of shows the playstyles for all the dwarf classes along with their tools (Which I am guessing will be their own video). Like how engie is more tactical with suppress options and huge sweeping weapons, gunner's that have body shredding weapons with a side arm to help focus on targets, the crowd control of a driller with a thrower weapon and pistols, and the focus targeting of a scout with a fun sidearm. My favorite weapons from this is the engie's shotgun, it feels so right to fire.
Also as an add on, it's why I don't really like the idea of more classes besides the main 4. They are all designed around each other and with how customizable the dwarves are, you don't really need to have another class. Maybe adding another round of weapons and like a side tool that all the dwarves can equip but other than that, they just feel like a complete unit as is that I don't think it's necessary. Maybe I'm the odd duck out but IDK.
Not so odd. They've got a near perfect teamwork dynamic.
Ghost ship has made an official statement that they dont want to add more dwarves, but they also understand that if they did the game would get a significant surge in playtime from people coming back/buying the game. As the game is now, I think what they will ultimately do is add more weapons and eventually gadgets to all the classes so instead of sacrificing the current lineup's meta they can increase their flexibility.
@@joshuaanderson7511 Yeah, did you see the weapons we're getting? I played around with the Hurricane on the experimental branch and almost had an orgasm. What a sexy weapon.
Funnily enough that being exactly what they did. All dwarfs got new primaries and secondaries since this vid came out.
I enjoyed this video, it is incredibly well-edited and it is nice to see DRG get more of a presence on youtube. Good job!
i love how the music is synced with the weapon firing
The 4th relic frame for engie’s shotgun is magnificent, the gold engravings, wood stock, it’s just a beaut without a paint job.
Hold on sniss, I'll watch this after my nap
sounds good
Mobility overclocks are pog
The quality of your videos is freaking amazing! I especially love your style. The simplistic look is *chef‘s kiss*.

I just watched all of your videos last night, only to see your community post and subsequent video today. The amount of effort put into these is insane and your narration style is great. 10/10 video for a 10/10 game.
I'm a month late to seeing this video from live, but I am glad I watched it (and was recommended it) all the same. The editing that you put into this experience was fantastic. The little details with sounds lining up with animations as well as the text boxes that smoothly transition in and out were my favourite parts of the editing. The content was good too! I appreciate all the live examples that were cut to the perfect length. Thanks for creating this video. This was a blast to watch!
6:55 yep i love the burst pistol reload too. i dont use it but i def appreciate the reload animation. i think its cuz its really crisp and solid feeling, plus the sound they added on it.
i think id have to say my favorite weapon is the breach cutter. its satisfying to get a nice slice through a big hoard, and even nicer when its a big mactera swarm. return to sender and spinning death are some good shit.
i agree with the epc not being too fun to use aside from thin containment, but it just works so well with the cryo cannon for temp shock. and since im always running the cryo, im always running the epc
i got say, this was a reeeeaally nicely edited video. subbed. if ye aint rock and stone, ye aint comin home.
You’re doing the lords work. DRG has to be the most under appreciated game of all time, neighboring Titanfall 2 and ChromeHounds
I love deep rock and titan fall, so I will check out chrome hounds based on that
ok the video is cool and all, but can we talk about how CLEAN that intro is.
I’d like to see an unstable overclock on the Engineer’s PGL (and maybe the Gunner’s autocannon) that causes the explosions to _restore_ friendly shields and electrify enemies in the AoE at the cost of reduced damage to enemies. It would be a great support tool for saving a buddy that’s getting swarmed and you don’t want to risk friendly fire.
Your editing is world class, bud. You're doing DRG and us dwarfs proud with how much time and effort you put into these. As a Gunner, Rock and Stone to ya, brother. Can't wait to see what's next.
For Karl!
"The screeches of deep rock galactic". I'm refering to a character screeching ok? lol.
The legend himself
Funny dwarf
He’s like the Just a Guy Without a Mustauce of DRG
Amazing editing and voice over as always. Keep up the good stuff man!
I discovered your channel today and just finished binging all of your Deep Rock Galactic videos. Looking forward to the next one!
Rock and Stone!!
Next up: Grenades of DRG lol
The quality of these videos is just insane, this kind of format with more deep rock videos or even other video games u like is a subscriber bomb ready to go off, its amazing that u dont have more subs, i really wish u luck going into 2021, keep making this awesome content
God the sync in the intro is simply glorious
Man, you got awesome interesting color theme and style! I love it. Keep going. This work deserves about 10 times more subs.
don’t know how I didn’t find you until now, your content is absolutely incredible
You did a really good job on this video, the time put in shows a lot.
I'm yet to unlock overclocks and I still need to finish a couple assignments but my favourite weapons are the M1000 Classic for the satisfying sounds and insane damage output, Jury Rigged Shotty feels like the super shotgun in DOOM and Is just incredible, the Warthog gives that shotgun umph that fuels my desire for fighting creeps and the PGL is if demoman dropped his grenade launcher for a single shot one that does more and it's insanely fun to use.
For gunner, the leadstorm is stupidly fun and it speaks to my Heavy main nature, the Bulldog is also a godlike secondary for it's ability to output damage hard and fast, and finally the CRSPR with sticky flames allows for such a different way of approaching a fight and conserving ammo that it's one of my favourite ways to kill bugs, and since I havent unlocked the EPC yet, I love the versatility of the Subata and just the reliability of it. So yeah, my favourite weapons so far
This intro synchronissed with the music was very satisfying, thank you
A very important thing about crosshairs is also that they tell you which weapons you have equipped.
That intro was sick! Keep up the good work. Rock and stone
Hyper Propellant on the PGL is SO satisfying. I never thought anything could turn me from the bright shining light of the breach cutter but fuck if a railgun-like grenade launcher didn't change my mind. :D
This video is so good, I really enjoy your specific style of commentary
0:30 props to you for making the shots sync up the music 👍
This is genuinely one of my favourite vids of yours so far! It's a really great look at how different DRG does gunplay without overwhelming players.
Hell, as someone who's had the Overclocks so long he's forgotten what half of them even are, I'm excited to take a look at some of these again!
(Especially the Subata, I honestly thought there wasn't a Flame Combo Mod!)
Subbed. Great breakdown. Editing was fantastic, too. Rock and stone to the bone, brother.
Cool editing in the beginning.
10 secs later
Nvm all the editing is cool
Just discovered this channel today, loving the quality and it really reflects the kind of content I'd want to make.
Well thought out, structured, and with some chill vibes that are honestly helping my anxiety at the moment.
I think you're criminally under the radar, though with my luck, like every other fun small channel I find, you'll end up shooting up soon enough.
thank you for watching! i appreciate the kind words greatly ♥️
Fantastic example of terrible hit reactions is Spacehulk Deathwing. It's also a four-player coop shooter with some decent looking and sounding guns that all just feel like wet noodles because they did such a terrible job with reactions. Rather than blowing Tyrnids to deep-fried bug nuggets, you tickle them for a little while and then they just turn to dust
I don't even know if you will se this because this video is a bit older, but the purple logo in the intro looks really good!
holy crap that picture at 0:44 before the title card? sick as hell
I also love dynamic and weapon specific crosshairs. You are not alone
11:51 Now I can’t help but imagine a “Fan vs Enjoyer” rendition that’s the TF2 Scout with the Force-A-Nature and the DFG Scout with the Jury-Rigged Boomstick with Special Powder.
cryo minelets actually work with blowthrough rounds so it becomes a really efficient overclock
holy shit dude your editing skills are top notch. You deserve more subs for sure
I don’t know why UA-cam took so long to recommend me your channel, but i’m glad it finally did !
Holy shit this is really, really good editing. Like it's simple, but very stylish and consistent.
Your video is very high quality, thanks a lot!
Something to note with the EPC's thin containment field upgrade is that it also does pretty good damage, making it a valuable offensive tool against tightly packed medium-small enemies(grunt swarms/swarmers) while also doing a fair amount to praetorians. It's not *great* at things larger than praetorians, especially compared to other secondary builds that focus on killing big things but it still does a good job.
Loved the video! My fav weapon is the cryo cannon. I only play driller as a green beard. I love the last talent which gives a chance for enemies to shatter immediately. It procs A TON.
Favorite gun is probably the Cryo. Love working together with a Gunner who just deletes anything frozen. Favorite overclock is probably ricochet on the Gunner's revolver. It takes down anything on the roof in seconds and has a suprisingly good amount of AoE with the right upgrades. Also, great vid man :)
I’m quite an a early player with a level 10 scout and a level 8 driller and are currently doing my assignment to unlock the m1 garand and I haven’t got an over clock but I am defiantly aiming to wards the shotgun jump overlock on the double barrel
Great work as always. Very entertaining, thank you.
I gotta say I love the breach cutter. There was one moment where I was running to the drop pod low on time and turn around after a dead end to find 12 glyphids and a praetorian. 3 quick shots later and they're all dead. Brought me happiness
Your production value and edits are through the roof.
Best DRG content I've seen yet. Hope you get a larger following!
My favorites are the flamethrower for just decimating swarms, especially when you drill a death tunnel and line the walls with flames, and the flak cannon for tearing apart armor on huge baddies. Both very satisfying but in different ways.
Even through the gunners zip lines are pretty slow, i find they are most useful for getting a good angle on big guys, dreadnaughts especially. Just build a web of lines above the area and rain death from above no matter which way they go
Favorite weapon is the Breach Cutter. Something about slicing an entire wave of bugs with 1 well placed shot is super satisfying.
just to point out the scouts Nuk17's, if you take the penetration upgrade on the gun the cryo minlets can go through enemies and then hit the floor creating the mine, this allow for you to effectively shoot enemies while still getting the secondary effect of the unstable overclock.
Only ever really played Gunner so far. But PGL, Laser Cutter and Lead storm are my favorites. Not a huge fan of the Autocannon but also havent found any overclocks for it yet. Have however found an unstable OC for the BRT7 that makes it super inaccurate with +300% bullet spread but bumps your damage by 40% I think. Makes it into a burst fire shotgun and WRECKS at point blank range.
Found your first couple videos on the Enemies and Sounds of DRG and loved your content and this is no exception. Top notch bud keep it up.
Yea lead spray burt slaps
10:00 That reminds me, have you ever played Jet Force Gemini? A flawed game to be sure, but one I really love. Shooting bugs just feels so nice, the staggering with weapons and different effects, the way the limbs blow apart when a giant bug dies in an explosion, then there are two weapons that aren't really useful but feel really good to use, the shocker and the flamethrower. The Shocker has a really unique design. There's also the tri-rocket launcher, not as iconic as it should be. It shoots three rockets that rotate in a corkscrew there's no way you could make it cooler. Even shuriken somehow manages to be a unique icon, taking the shape of the game's logo and being high-tech throwing weapons that home in and swipe enemies from the side, making them useful for any enemies with body-blocking shields, swiping them from the side and beheading them. Also you can retrieve them afterwards. VERY satisfying to use, makes me feel like a badass every time. Again the game does have a lot of flaws, the controls are a little bit awkward and take time to get used to and the Floydd missions can piss off because they're tough to get perfect ranks on for the wrong reasons, over-sensitive turning. However there is a lot in the game I appreciate.
Also this doesn't have anything to do with weapon design or shooting bugs, but I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the music, not many games can match such an epic orchestral sci-fi soundtrack ESPECIALLY on the N64, only sci-fi games I can think of that can top it are the Halo series and Metroid series.
11:36 yo I’m pretty sure that overclock is a titanfall reference. That weapons design and function looks very similar to the Northstar’s weapon and being able to hover midair is one of Northstars abilities. That’s awesome.
The on-time shooting at the beginning was exquisite
I absolutely love your comedy! It's almost as funny as those joke/satire reviews, except it also has lots of useful information and isn't just useless jokes!
Absolutely fantastic job on this video, sniss. Always enjoy an in depth look at the weapons of a game, and you've outdone yourself with this video.
A little upsetting that you don't like the EPC, I honestly can't go back to the sabata after utilizing the TCF on it for so long. I'm still relatively new to the game, so I haven't even scratched the surface of how each weapon can truly be used. I haven't even gotten a single overclock for some weapons.
Also, seeing Garfield and knowing my buddy Glyph liked that pic enough to make audio to go with it.
ive warmed up to the epc more recently! also glyph's edit of the garfield pic is absolutely fantastic
@@sniss hey thats me!
First video watching from this channel, amazing intro.
As old as this video is, it made me reconsider my weapons for my dwarves.
I did learn a new thing too, so thank you for the video. :)
As per usual, fantastic analysis. Rock and Stone!
Quality video's ma dude. I like the Risk of Rain reference :)
14:48 Fun Fact: You can also use the Electric Arc on friendly Engie turrets. So with some coordination you can pretty much create an electric death fence with tesla coils that also shoot bullets.
I love the auto cannon with armor breaking because I like watching the shell get shredded off of the bugs.
I really like weapons in this game, you always can completely change your gameplay. I loved so much fire overclock on gauss gun, but after I unlocked fire overclocks on minigun and revolver, I figured out that they nicely complete each other. This is why this game is good, you experiment and its so fascinating.
lovely video. be very interested to hear your opinion on the newer weapons that they've added. i've really been enjoying the corrosive sludge pump!
talked abt em in a video for season 01!
Hope you'll talk about all the different grenades in another video.
Great video tho, as always !
i dont think anyone else noticed but when "A Distant Terror" was playing in the intro, him firing the guns were PERFECTLY synced with the music
Bro I love crosshairs you have like one person supporting you in that
Your videos are so great, bro.
Keep making em'!
For now the best framework and paint job combination I’ve ever seen in my gun is the Rival Tech Framework+ Dark Future Paintjob
16:03
Fun fact, that fun, spinny gun animation actually has a purpose. If you hold the fire button after playing the animation the gun will immediately start firing instead of revving up normally. Essentially a cooler way to begin revving up but can also be handy if you’re expecting bugs around the corner
Scout protip for the M1000: Don't focus-shot if you're planning on hitting a grunt in the face. You'll just waste ammo. A single, normal shot can instakill a grunt if shot in the face. Also, you can focus-shot with 1 ammo in the clip. I recommend only focusing when dealing with Oppressors, Dreadnoughts, Nemeses, Mactera Tri-jaws, Mactera Brundles, Mactera Grabbers, pretty much just anything that's bigger than a Mactera Spawn/Glyphid Slasher/Guard/Grunt.
Protip for the Zhukovs: Don't use the Zhukovs.
Protip for the Boomstick: Use White Phosphorus shells and super-blowthrough rounds with the Special Powder overclock. You can have an incendiary piercing Force-A-Nature.
Protip for the M1000, part 2: Use Hoverclock. If combined with the grappling hook, you can actually fly. This applies even more with the Special Powder overclock for the Boomstick.
Combining the Nuks with cryo grenades makes pratorians an absolute joke for scout to take out. Just ice em and empty your clip into it and boom. It's one of my favourite things to do as scout.
Also it negates the death fart too so that's extra nice
My favorite gun so far has to be the M1000. On any other class it would frankly be underwhelming and hard to use effectively, but by giving it to the Scout it rewards good mobility and becomes a satisfying and efficient way of taking out enemies, especially ones with full armor. No better feeling than grappling past an oppressor, dreadnought, or praetorian while it's distracted by your team and nailing it with a bunch of weak point shots.
couldnt wait to watch this vid, loved all the others
