As a Wastewater Treatment Operator myself, I can't say how happy I am to finally see Ox cover this place in a vid. I always get a kick out of seeing WPC plants in games, there is one in GTA 5 too, so this was a real treat. Was disappointed the clarifiers, those big round tanks outside, weren't as deep as they really should've been though. On a side note though I do have to point out that most plants just clean the water enough just to put back into the nearest body of water for wildlife and swimmers, not tap water ready or anything lol. If your tap water tastes funny take it up with your local Drinking Water Disinfection plant instead of us :P

That's why I like Fallout 4... 2000hrs+ played and there are still things I still didn't know... Like the terminal saying they ordered water from another plant to serve to the visitors. I'm sure I red said terminal, but not carefully enough to grasp this nasty trick.

Bostonian here. The Charles is still filthy by EPA standards but it's nowhere near as bad as it was when my parents were in college. Their joke used to be that you could walk across the Charles all year round, not just in the winter.

Reading that terminal entry mentioning Nut Island adds the Warwick Homestead marker to your map if it isn't shown already, implying that the waste water plant at Nut Island is now Warwick Homestead. There's also a sign (SignNutIsland) that's not used in the game which belongs on the main building at Warwick Homestead :)
It's so confusing to see how easily you killed all those supermutants and mirelurks... until I recall I always complete this quest early in the game and I have to do it with a 10 mm pistol and a two-crank laser musket pretending it's a sniper rifle. As always, great video. An entertaining summary of the story behind the locations and real world referrences is why this is such a good channel.
You know, the Nut Island thing you mentioned sheds a bit of light on something. It explains why when you read that terminal entry about how they switched the water, it updates your map. When it does, and if you haven't discovered it yet, it unlocks the location of Warwick Homestead. Which, upon talking to Roger Warwick, you find out it used to be a sewage plant.

This looks like a perfect spot... for a water treatment plant. I didn't know about the reference to Nut Island being a real disaster. I didn't think past the first layer of a water treatment plant giving away bottled water as their own to cover up for the colera outbreak, so pretty subtle unless you knew about the real Nut Island. Brown not giving caps after the first time you turn in mutfruit isn't unusual though. As far as I know every farmer that does that 'pick some fruit, I'll pay you for it' mini quest only ever does it once. And honestly it's not worth it they give so little. Especially mutfruit which is way more valuable as a vegetable starch ingredient. I love Graygarden and this quest early on in a play though. It's an easy way to get mutfruit early, as a farm it has more workers by default than anywhere else and can produce a lot of food and you never have to worry about it other than slapping down a few turrets. Even if it does get attacked you have a fleet of laser armed robots that will swarm and make short work of whoever was stupid enough to attack them. The Weston plant is a great place to get dirty water, mirelurk meat and eggs and all kinds of scrap. And Greygarden is a great place to build at. Well protected, you and build very high including on top of the overpass. In one of my games it was my primary residence for a while. I built a workshop on top of the greenhouse and a little three story building next to it to house my quarters and give me access to the overpass. I'll probably do something there again with my current robot loving character.

You can tell Supervisor White about being frozen if you don't use the very first dialog option where you remeber something from before the war. Then pick the second one and she has different dialog. Pretty much just says wow about it can't remeber exactly.
Not sure if you know this, but I believe it is an Easter Egg towards the old game show " Lets Make A Deal". Were the Host of the show walked into an audience and would pick someone at random. They would then pick a curtain and then either go for what was behind the curtain or haggled how much it was worth, or something to that effect. John snr and john jnr well in my game the Brotherhood only shows up no gunners but there is one time they killed the pilot and gunner of the vertibird and took it but when I went close they couldn’t fly and the gunner didn’t shoot I just equipped my missile launcher it exploded I saw gunner bodies and 1 lancer knight 2 scribes and no trace of brotherhood knights
Hey Oxhorn! Hey just a quick thing I found the other day playing a new character. In this water treatment facility, in the bathroom by the office (at time 18:00 on your video) well in that bathroom there’s something funny I found that I’m not sure is anywhere else in Fallout 4. In that bathroom, go to the sink and you’ll find that the drainage pipe from the sink was unhooked, meaning that every time someone washed their hands, water would just spill out onto the floor. I thought that was hilarious for being a “water treatment facility” hahaha. Love all of your videos on the Fallout universe. I think I’ve watched almost all of them. Keep it up please!

A story when I reached this plant: My character named Decidueye was around level 12 and I came across White. I took the plant quest and I got Cods with me so I went ahead and I encountered my FIRST super mutants and I died once but I realised that I needed to go sneaky. If I swam, I would be ok since I got my Aqua-Boy perk in early levels so I went ahead. I raided some of the plant before going down to the huge place with the mirelurks. I went down slowly until i couldn't find Codsworth because it's hard to manuver around the place without losing yourself, getting rads from water (not me), and other things. Then I got cornered by mirelurks and since I went with danse to the Insitute (can't spell right) and got a security baton that was electrified. I didn't want to lose bullets and mirelurks deflect most things that are ranged unless a few factors. I finished them bit by bit and managed to complete the entire team and get some bits of fruit or whatever (tatos, mutfruit, etc.) and since I accidentally did a steal on one of the Mr Handy's and check what they had, EVERY SINGLE ONE WENT AT ME...I managed to kill them but I wasted like 4 stimpaks, a couple hundred of ammo, and my reputation.

I couple of times when I've traveled to this spot I've encountered a gunfight between Brotherhood and Gunner factions. Once the Gunners won and they stole a Vertibird! Never seen that anywhere else.
I know this has nothing to do with the video but if u collect tools like screwdrivers adjustable wrenches and stuff u can get 15 caps or higher each from the person who was speaking to the overseer when u first arrive at vault 81 (he's a little fat). I hope this helped

Honestly, when I saw the water treatment plant's attempt to sell Nut Island water, I was immediately reminded of Dasani's flopped attempt to sell tap water to the Brits.
I was always confused by the dirty water. Well, them getting dirty water to replace their dirty water makes sense.

A story when I reached this plant:
My character named Decidueye was around level 12 and I came across White. I took the plant quest and I got Cods with me so I went ahead and I encountered my FIRST super mutants and I died once but I realised that I needed to go sneaky. If I swam, I would be ok since I got my Aqua-Boy perk in early levels so I went ahead. I raided some of the plant before going down to the huge place with the mirelurks. I went down slowly until i couldn't find Codsworth because it's hard to manuver around the place without losing yourself, getting rads from water (not me), and other things. Then I got cornered by mirelurks and since I went with danse to the Insitute (can't spell right) and got a security baton that was electrified. I didn't want to lose bullets and mirelurks deflect most things that are ranged unless a few factors. I finished them bit by bit and managed to complete the entire team and get some bits of fruit or whatever (tatos, mutfruit, etc.) and since I accidentally did a steal on one of the Mr Handy's and check what they had, EVERY SINGLE ONE WENT AT ME...I managed to kill them but I wasted like 4 stimpaks, a couple hundred of ammo, and my reputation.

I couple of times when I've traveled to this spot I've encountered a gunfight between Brotherhood and Gunner factions. Once the Gunners won and they stole a Vertibird! Never seen that anywhere else.

I know this has nothing to do with the video but if u collect tools like screwdrivers adjustable wrenches and stuff u can get 15 caps or higher each from the person who was speaking to the overseer when u first arrive at vault 81 (he's a little fat). I hope this helped
