@@thesturm8686 That's what I'm doing now. I'm setting up settlements all over Massachusetts and I haven't gone to Fenway Pa....errr Diamond City yet. Once you get further out the enemies really lay waste to your bunghole unless you have the proper guns and ammo.

Like the terminal saying they ordered water from another plant to serve to the visitors. I'm sure I red said terminal, but not carefully enough to grasp this nasty trick.

As a Wastewater Treatment Operator myself, I can't say how happy I am to finally see Ox cover this place in a vid. I always get a kick out of seeing WPC plants in games, there is one in GTA 5 too, so this was a real treat. Was disappointed the clarifiers, those big round tanks outside, weren't as deep as they really should've been though. On a side note though I do have to point out that most plants just clean the water enough just to put back into the nearest body of water for wildlife and swimmers, not tap water ready or anything lol. If your tap water tastes funny take it up with your local Drinking Water Disinfection plant instead of us :P

Bostonian here. The Charles is still filthy by EPA standards but it's nowhere near as bad as it was when my parents were in college. Their joke used to be that you could walk across the Charles all year round, not just in the winter.

@@justanotheryoutubechannel it's a joke. that the water was so polluted and full of trash that you could just walk across it. you couldn't REALLY walk across it, but it was pretty nasty. much more improved these days, though, I don't recommend swimming in it.

This looks like a perfect spot... for a water treatment plant. I didn't know about the reference to Nut Island being a real disaster. I didn't think past the first layer of a water treatment plant giving away bottled water as their own to cover up for the colera outbreak, so pretty subtle unless you knew about the real Nut Island. Brown not giving caps after the first time you turn in mutfruit isn't unusual though. As far as I know every farmer that does that 'pick some fruit, I'll pay you for it' mini quest only ever does it once. And honestly it's not worth it they give so little. Especially mutfruit which is way more valuable as a vegetable starch ingredient.
I love Graygarden and this quest early on in a play though. It's an easy way to get mutfruit early, as a farm it has more workers by default than anywhere else and can produce a lot of food and you never have to worry about it other than slapping down a few turrets. Even if it does get attacked you have a fleet of laser armed robots that will swarm and make short work of whoever was stupid enough to attack them. The Weston plant is a great place to get dirty water, mirelurk meat and eggs and all kinds of scrap. And Greygarden is a great place to build at. Well protected, you and build very high including on top of the overpass. In one of my games it was my primary residence for a while. I built a workshop on top of the greenhouse and a little three story building next to it to house my quarters and give me access to the overpass. I'll probably do something there again with my current robot loving character.

Reading that terminal entry mentioning Nut Island adds the Warwick Homestead marker to your map if it isn't shown already, implying that the waste water plant at Nut Island is now Warwick Homestead. There's also a sign (SignNutIsland) that's not used in the game which belongs on the main building at Warwick Homestead :)

It's so confusing to see how easily you killed all those supermutants and mirelurks... until I recall I always complete this quest early in the game and I have to do it with a 10 mm pistol and a two-crank laser musket pretending it's a sniper rifle. As always, great video. An entertaining summary of the story behind the locations and real world referrences is why this is such a good channel.
You can tell Supervisor White about being frozen if you don't use the very first dialog option where you remeber something from before the war. Then pick the second one and she has different dialog. Pretty much just says wow about it can't remeber exactly.
You know, the Nut Island thing you mentioned sheds a bit of light on something. It explains why when you read that terminal entry about how they switched the water, it updates your map. When it does, and if you haven't discovered it yet, it unlocks the location of Warwick Homestead. Which, upon talking to Roger Warwick, you find out it used to be a sewage plant.

Why didn't you explore the houses near graygarden. If I recall right that is where the owner used to live. Not much to see, but still should be included in this topic.

If you havent check out the unmarked Location Kendall Parkinglot. Mole Rats with Mines stripped on them randomly shoot up the ground. its really creepy. about to discover it now.

Even though I've done this questline on every playthrough so far, I still enjoying seeing it through the Oxhorn lens.

Not sure if you know this, but I believe it is an Easter Egg towards the old game show " Lets Make A Deal". Were the Host of the show walked into an audience and would pick someone at random. John snr and john jnr well in my game the Brotherhood only shows up no gunners but there is one time they killed the pilot and gunner of the vertibird and took it but when I went close they couldn’t fly and the gunner didn’t shoot I just equipped my missile launcher it exploded I saw gunner bodies and 1 lancer knight 2 scribes and no trace of brotherhood knights

Gray garden is my second favorite settlement for building, next to Nordhagen Beach. The water treatment plant also has included "fertilizer"
Got to love that with how Bethesda left Synth personhood open; it is possible that robots can be people while Synth are not (along with both or neither being it.)

Does anybody like the Fallout 3/New Vegas Minigun better than the Fallout 4 Minigun? Oh, and I find that the Minigun with the Two Shot legendary effect is better than the Explosive legendary effect in Fallout 4. Accuracy is shit though.
The minigun in Fallout 4 is pretty sh*t. The main issue is its damage, it's decent early game (if you can scrounge up enough ammo for it) with it's rate of fire but by mid to late game it's just a big ammo black hole. That's why I use mods that increases the base damage and adds a receiver mod that changes the ammo type (with a slight increase to damage and slight decrease to rate of fire) to .38 (which is a much more abundant ammo type then 5mm).
Yeah, and in Fallout 3 you can get the Minigun to do damage up 75 with the Big Guns skill maxed, and the Eugene does I think 10-15+ damage increase so you end up doing like 85+ damage. The Vengeance is still better though.
Ikr, in 3 and NV the minigun is on par with other weapon options. But in vanilla 4 with no mods, the minigun just isn't a viable option. In fact heavy weapon characters in 4 don't have very many good options. The flamer and minigun have the same issue of not enough damage and a not very abundant ammo type and the gatling laser has the fusion core bug. So that leaves the missile launcher and the fatman as the good options.
Yeah. I just told myself that the miniguns in F3/NV are Infantry Assault Weapons, specifically for Power Armor troops. It has a backpack for ammo, a proper handling system to wield as a single person.
The minigun introduced to us in F4 is an aircraft mounted weapon. Because of this, it looks so different, and does less damage due to its use mostly bring to harass/suppress enemies from avove.
Don't know if that explanation helps at all, but it made me feel better. I guess they didn't want to make multiple versions of the same gun. But it does screw over folks who wanted to use em in late game.

At the beginning, you say exploring south of Abernathy farm, following the train tracks you'd find greygarden, one of the first settlements you might come across. But you follow the train tracks, south of Abernathy. Wouldn't you have discovered Abernathy to be able south of Abernathy farm......the first settlement you would come across. Also I don't think there is a railway track south of Abernathy, you might be thinking of tenpines bluff, the first settlement, which would take you to starlight drive in, the second settlement. Ergo, greygarden would be the third or so settlement you find.

I know this has nothing to do with the video but if u collect tools like screwdrivers adjustable wrenches and stuff u can get 15 caps or higher each from the person who was speaking to the overseer when u first arrive at vault 81 (he's a little fat). I hope this helped

Hey just a quick thing I found the other day playing a new character. In this water treatment facility, in the bathroom by the office (at time 18:00 on your video) well in that bathroom there’s something funny I found that I’m not sure is anywhere else in Fallout 4. In that bathroom, go to the sink and you’ll find that the drainage pipe from the sink was unhooked, meaning that every time someone washed their hands, water would just spill out onto the floor. I thought that was hilarious for being a “water treatment facility” hahaha.
