►My Thoughts:
Cars.com gave the 2018 Equinox a perfect five out of five. That's crazy. This is a nice compact SUV, but it's far from perfect.

The best way to get an Equinox LT is with the confidence and convenience package that includes a power rear door, dual zone automatic climate control, heated seats, leather wheel, remote start and extra safety items so don't base everything on a rental spec Equinox LT. The majority of LT's on the dealer lots seem to be equipped with this package.
I recently drove the 2018 Equinox LT as well. The 1.5L with FWD gets 32mpg highway; only the 1.6L diesel gets 39. And mine had dual zone climate with the digital readouts and a power lift gate so those features are available on the LT, among many others (I also had blind spot, rear cross traffic etc). It helps to spend some time on the mfg’s website.

Worthwhile review. I own a 2010 Equinox AWD, and I’ve been pretty satisfied with it overall. It’s probably time for a new one, and I’m ok with the same model. Your review was very helpful.

Unfortunately, I had a major problem with my 2010 Equinox. The pistons and rings had to be replaced - basically, the engine was shot at 80,000 miles. The good news is that GM recognized and accepted that it was a design issue. So even though my warranty was long gone, they fixed it completely free of charge. It’s been running fine ever since. I like the way it drives (AWD), handling, roominess. Since GM was very honest about the engine problem, I’m prepared to give them another chance and buy a 2018 model. For the record, I also bought each of my kids a new Sonic when they got their licenses. Good little cars.
Nothing worse than a filthy rental car! I feel you man! Shame on these guys!

Do you ever use the Android Auto capability some of these newer cars have?
+brorowcarwiz Not yet. I've tried a couple of times, but I couldn't get my old phone to connect for some reason. To be honest, I didn't try very hard. After about 5 minutes of tinkering I just gave up. I'll make sure I do a video or two on Android Auto in 2018.
I really can't wait to drive one of these, or its GMC Terrain cousin... I drove a 2016 GMC Terrain (previous generation) and was quite impressed.

What's "Really"? 1.) Yes I drove it and have picture proof of it if you don't believe me (we were the first to rent, I peeled the plastic, and it only had 2 miles when we drove it off of Enterprise's lot) and 2.) Yes it was enjoyable to drive, quite comfortable, really quick with its 301-HP 3.6L VVT "High-Feature" HFX V6, and very quiet.
Oooh, I hadn't heard of the Terrain before. I just Googled it and it looks great. I like the grill on the Terrain more than the Equinox. I don't think I've ever seen a GMC on an Enterprise lot, so I doubt I'll get a chance to drive it. If you do, let me know. I'd like to hear what you think.

Please do. If it helps, I thought it "pulled" pretty smooth. I mean, I was pleasantly surprised at the acceleration in general. I assumed, since it was a 4-cylinder that it was going to be slow. But I was wrong (again).
You should try and get a Premier trim one. Enterprise has a mix of LT's and Premiers.
Really? I'll keep a look out for the Premier. Haven't seen one yet at my location, but I'll grab it if I get a chance.

I can't believe the rental company gave you a car that dirty. I'd have taken it right back and made them clean it..or I can clean it and I'd charge them!
Normally, I would have said something, but I rented this after dark and didn't notice until the next morning. I actually started driving before the sun came up, so as the sunlight got brighter and brighter I noticed more and more hair...and other stuff. It was quite an experience!
I’m really embarrassed that Enterprise gave you a car that dirty. I hope you mentioned it upon return and was credited for the dirt level.
Oh it's no big deal. It made for a more interesting video. I'm guessing the guys at my local shop didn't notice. It was late and cold. I know I didn't notice until the next morning when the sun came up. Don't worry, I'm still a 100% Enterprise guy. You're all the best! Happy New Year!

Sure, I'll try. I mostly rent from Enterprise, and I haven't seen many GMCs on their lot, but if I get a chance I'll grab one asap. Are you looking to buy one soon?
100 Rental Cars I know Avis has some of the new ones. They are usually the SLE-2 Trim.
Dirty rental cars and finding treasures..that's not new to me. Our Hyundai came standard with lots of marks and stains. In the Hyundai and a Nissan Juke, glasses were found in both. Back to the video, I'm glad Chevy is improving. P.S. where do these trips take place?

Disney Fan is right, I do most of my driving in the Chicagoland area. Although I do go pretty far out every once and a while. The Ford Focus Titanium review I posted a while back was at the Iowa border. And yeah, I've found some fun things too. Sunglasses, pacifiers, Match Box Twenty CDs, and lots of Starbucks napkins. Always fun!
I do alot of traveling to the tampa and orlando areas and i have gotten so many different rental cars at the Orlando international airport and tampa international airport one car i rented was really dirty I found a cd album and when i went to use the cd player there was a scratched cd left behind by the previous renter I normally rent from enterprise Alamo and National i rented from budget once and I decided never again I rented from thrifty and they were terrible
My car rented from thrifty had almost 50k on the odometer

I rented a Dodge Grand Caravan from enterprise and it had 23,000 miles on the oil change sticker but on the odometer it said 33,000 and they exchanged it no problem

Agreed. I'm assuming the Premier will come with leather seats, which this one desperately needed. And I'm surprised I didn't get the 2.0 this time. Most of the SUVs I rent have a V6...
100 Rental Cars most car manufacturers are getting rid of V6 and going to twin turbos ect. Soon V6 won't exist

The 2.0 is nice but takes premium fuel.
Those buttons on the back of the steering wheel seem anti-intuitive. 1.5L turbo seems like a rather small engine. They should at least make the 2.0T standard. Standard ugly GM steering wheel. I don't know where you rent your cars, but I would be loudly complaining about the filth of the car.
Small engines in small crossovers have done well over the past couple of years... I was skeptical too when I saw the 1.5L Turbo in the 2013 (Ford) Escape, but after seeing how successful it was, I saw how it could work. :)
I'm not much of a complainer. If it happens again, I'll speak up. I rent from the same place twice a week and this is the first time I've gotten a car this dirty. I'm guessing it was a mistake on their part. If was dark, late at night, and pretty cold. Had I noticed, I would have said something. Instead, I got a nice "surprise" the next morning while I was driving as the sun came up. It was quite a shock.
And yes, I wish I had gotten the 2.0. Maybe I'll get another chance soon. We'll see. I've gotten a lot of Chevys lately, I'm kinda in the mood for something else now.
Try the Murano if they have one available.

Lt has a leather covered steering wheel and also an 8inch display for the infotaining system. Also an usb port for the back seats and for sure electric closing for the trunk.

It is an LT. It has the LT badge on the rear hatch door. This LT doesn't have any extras.
If you get the Confidence & Convenience Package it comes with leather wrapped steering wheel, powerlift gate, daul auto a/c control and a whole lot of extras.
Nasty rental car did are they high they have a nasty car you can get sick u should have got a different one with a sunroof

They're not all like this! But yeah, this one was pretty filthy. Had I noticed - it was dark when I rented it - I definitely would have asked for different car.
I drove a non turbo. They're underpowered and underwhelming. Dash strikes me as cheap plastic shit.
I hope you got this car rental half off because the dirt is just nasty. Someone didn’t Do there job, and there taking advantage of you. I really hope you freaked on them about this nasty car? If someone rented this car with dog allergies they would be in hell for the trip.
I didn't complain. I rent from the same Enterprise location every week and 99% of the time they treat me like a king, so I let this one pass. Thankfully it hasn't happened again.
