    THE BASICS:
    Year: 2019
    Make: Ford
    Model: Edge
    Trim: Titanium
    EXTRAS:
    There is an AWD version, but this isn't it. This is the EcoBoost model (front wheel drive) and it also has the "301A Equipment Group" which includes:
    + Voice-Activated Touchscreen Navigation System
    + Heated and Ventilated Leather Seats
    + Panoramic Vista Roof
    + Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist+
    Type: this is a 4-door mid-sized crossover SUV that seats 5
    Color: Stone Gray
    Wheels: 19-inch Nickel-Painted Aluminum Wheels
    MSRP: $41,505
    HISTORY:
    + This is the second generation of the Edge. Ford has been making this crossover since around 2006.
    UNDER THE HOOD:
    Engine: Twin-Scroll 2.0L 4-cylinder EcoBoost Engine
    Transmission: Eight-Speed Automatic Transmission
    Horsepower: 250hp @ 5,500 rpms
    MPG City: 22
    MPG Highway: 29
    Combined MPG: 25
    Fuel Tank Capacity: 18 gallons
    Cost for a full tank: $3.15/gallon x 18 gallons = $56.70
    HANDLING:
    + Comfortable ride. I felt in control while going around curves at high speeds and making tight turns at low speeds. IN fact, parking this one is SUPER easy.
    ACCELERATION:
    + Smooth and a bit quiet. The quiet part is actually a criticism. I like it when the engine growls when I'm accelerating hard. And the Edge, is maybe a little too quiet for my taste. But...it is peppy. In fact, I found it REALLY easy to accelerate and pass vehicles on the interstate. There is a slight delay when you need speed, but once it kicks in the Edge is FAST.
    FINAL THOUGHTS:
    Great crossover SUV. I really enjoyed driving this one and I continue to be impressed with how well Ford incorporates technology into their vehicles. It's seamless and I never felt like I had to search for a button or a function, because everything is right where it should be.
    I'm going to miss this one.
    So that's it for now. Thank you so much for watching and I hope you'll join me next time when I rent and review my 129th rental car. I'll see you then.

    Hello! I loved the Edge when I drove it and I love it EVEN MORE now that I just finished renting the 2019 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross. Ford really has done a nice job with this vehicle. It's not perfect...but it's hard not to enjoy driving this one. Anyway, let me know what you think! It's been a bit since I had a review up, so I'd love to hear your thoughts! Hope your day is going well. Cheers!

      100 Rental Cars once I had the option to rent this car at the enterprise airport location i rent at but I ended up with a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox lt awd with 32k miles on it which was torture because it had cheap plastic it was slow underpowered. I should have gone with the edge.

      Will there be a video on the eclipse cross anytime soon? I haven't been able to see a review that wasn't attacking it thoroughly

    • @100RentalCars
      @100RentalCars  5 років тому +1

      Yep, I finished the editing over the weekend. It'll post this Sunday at 10am. I didn't attack it...but, I didn't fall in love either. I think the Eclipse Cross has potential, but there's still some things I'd like to see improved/changed. Anyway, if you watch my review, let me know what you think. I do try hard not to be snarky and overly opinionated. But it's not aways easy. 😀

    I just purchased a 2020 Edge after 10 years in 2 Volvos. Went back to Ford. Very happy with the vehicle. Few changes from the 2019 (CD eliminated). I learned about many features though in your video. Will look for the compass feature tomorrow. I absolutely love the new Edge and has renewed the pleasure of driving. I agree the new Edge is a winner and quite handsome too compared to previous generation eyesore. Thanks!

    It's been only a few days since I have discovered your channel, and when it comes to reviewing cars, you show very well that the size of an audience doesn't reflect on how good or bad someone is. You do the best job at keeping an unbiased yet commenting review on successes and shortcomings of cars, a brief yet very informational review with all the necessary information on day to day use of models, and you judge cars based off of the quality of the model given, not of the Brand's reputation in the past with completely unrelated models. I hope you can keep the reviews coming and all success you ever need in this channel. I'm only 16 and don't own a car, but I am a huge car enthusiast who loves to see how all brands and models are doing. The professionalism you hold yourself to in these reviews is rare and extremely desirable. Hope to see more in the future 👍

      Thanks for the kind words! I do try to make my videos as unbiased as possible, but it's not always easy. I've made more than my fair share of dumb mistakes. Speaking of, please don't hesitate to offer some constructive criticism. I'm trying to get better at this and every little bit helps. Also, you should totally do a review of your own! Just use your cell and a family member's car. I'd bet you'd be great at it. Shoot me a link and I'll share it on my channel. Cheers!

    This actually has the 301A package which brings it to having an MRSP of $44,000. Enterprise has really nice 2019 Edges.

      $44k is pretty pricey. I mean, I like the Edge, but forty four thousand dollars could get you something much, much nicer than a Ford...

    Loved it! One weird request - I kinda would like to hear the horns on these vehicles. Some manufacturers cut costs by putting cheap sounding “road runner” horns in their SUVs

    • @100RentalCars
      @100RentalCars  5 років тому +1

      Sure! And it's not a weird request at all. You're actually not the only person to ask for this. I'll try and remember to hit the horn on my next rental. I already filmed and edited my next video, so the first time I'll be able to include a horn will probably be in 2 weeks or so.
      Edit: fixed a typo

    Awesome review as always, I really love that stated what type of driver safety aids the vehicle has, since some of them can be overly twitchy or with a lot of tings making it hard to figure out what really the car is alerting us with.

    These are great vehicles, although the Jeep Grand Cherokee is my pick for a midsize SUV. :) I've never seen a rental car with parallel and perpendicular park assist before. The most driver assistance I've ever had in a rental car is a Chevy Suburban with vibrating driver's seat, blind spot assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear camera, of course. :)

    • @disneyfan9099

      Vincent D Technically the Grand Cherokee is not a midsize SUV. The regular Cherokee is a midsize SUV

    • @jeepguy95
      @jeepguy95 5 років тому +1

      @@disneyfan9099 That would be incorrect. I own one. Yes I know the GC is classified as a Standard SUV by most rental companies (so is the Edge), but it IS a midsize SUV, NOT a fullsize SUV... the regular Cherokee is considered a compact SUV, even though it's considered an Intermediate SUV by most rental companies.

    I Love This Review. I been looking at the Ford Edge and some other CUV's also. I really like the Ford Edge. It's not too big or too small it's just the right side for me. I like the Titanium Trim. But the SEL Trim would do me just fine. Thanks for the review of the Ford Edge.

      Sure. I always rent from Enterprise and I pay for a mid sized rental, although I frequently get upgraded, because of how frequently I rent (1 to 2 times a week). The cost is almost always around $30 to $35; although, I've gotten a few as cheap as $20 and as expensive as $57. It all depends on the time of year.
