I Love Battlefleet Gothic!! Its a great game. Easy to pick up and play. Well thought out rules and easy to expand on. Another great video guys keep the coming.
I love the Battle barge "mini". The dang thing weighs as much as entire fleet it has so much metal. A real flying stand breaker though. It's stats are great too. Such a brute.
I know the mechanicus are actually hereteks because paint their ships in yellow is an absolute heresy.
Okay, several things: I don't know what fleet list lets you mix a Styx into a Marine fleet, but it better be costing well over 300 points as a balancing factor. Ignoring that, how is it throwing 8 T-Hawk groups per turn? Unless there's some weird special rule going on here, it's got a launch cap of 6 and arguably should have that reduced further for balance the fact that T-Hawks are WAY better than its normal ordnance choices. There's a good reason the real Marine ships have such small launch rates, and whatever rules are letting you take a Styx seem to have ignored that. Also, I keep hearing you mention "blazing hulks" but you never seem to be rolling for them. A blazing hulk tests again on the catastrophic damage table every turn until it either downgrades to a drifting hulk or explodes - and that's on top of rolls for taking damage from being shot or smacking blast marakers. They're flying bombs with a sputtering fuse, and not something you want to risk remaining near if it can be avoided.
I was thinking the same thing. I have seen people mix chaos and marine together but never launch marine only ordinance out of the chaos vessels. That seems broken. Maybe a fan supplement or something.
Emperor only knows. Specialist Games did some wonky stuff later in the game's lifespan and I've lost track of the details. Don't recall anyone but Loyalist Marines even having access to T-hawks - the Chaos boys are quite sufficiently nasty using "just" assault bots and boarding torps and conventional fighter craft.

Basically Adeptus Astartes can take one single Chaos or Imperial Battleship, Grand Cruiser, ... for an additional 35 points and an additional 100-150% victory points if crippled or destroyed.
There are rules that allow loyalist marine fleets to take venerable barges (chaos battle or grand cruisers or battleships) +35 for marine crew and must halve number of launch bays so for strix only 3 thunder hawks. However being alpha legion. This list could almost be done with chaos list as it allows loyalist strike cruisers 1/500p and 1 battle barge to be taken. Also some loyalist escorts but with no marines. Also chaos cruisers from chaos list allow marine crew to use regular assault boats, fighters and bombers or change them all in to thunder hawks. In that way stryx could launch 6 marine assault boats. There were some other mistakes too...

Why do guns with Nova Cannons approach the enemy? Stay back and pew pew... also for future reference when your opponent has T-Hawks (best ordance ever) you should just sit back and use yours as fighters on patrol.
If only they still sold the models... I would love to play this game, if only heard positive feedback about it!

they are amazing non official models , i have a bunch of them + official metal og's, and to be honest i enjoy both as much ! :D ( the amazing scourgescenic is my favorite, but they are a lot of others brands)

Mechanicus is my favorite ship choice but that being said the rules are all over the place. Loving that Alpha Legion!
It's been way past time for GW to bring back BFG!
After Adeptus Titanicaus I'm afraid to see what they do with it. Maybe you want to see the game re-scaled so the crusiers are 8" long kits that take an hour to assemble and cost over $100, but I think I'd rather stick with my original stuff and the excellent third-party minis available since the game was abandoned, eg vanguardminiatures.co.uk/product-category/battlegroup-helios/
Rich McGee oh I agree GW will find a way to jack it up. I hope GW would do a scale more like Full Thrust and not some monster size that you need a basketball court to play on.
@@SpannSr1970 My guess is they would make each ship a foot long, but only give you 2 in the box with a few fighters and charge $200. And it would be something like Star Wars Armada JUST so you couldn't use any old BFG miniatures.

Looking at the game I think admech would have done better staying in clear space, they have the ranged advantage with the permanent left shift and 45cm macro plasmas and it all fell apart when the totally loyal SM got close and launched loads of hit and runs, I love admech all those extra things they get are super cool and the special ark mechanicus is a beast. Great play by the SM with the boarding craft and line of sight usage and bad luck from the admech with that asteroid field. It happens sometimes😟

Correct me if I'm wrong. Nova cannons never suffer penalties for firing through blast markers, but they themselves tend to create blast markers, penalizing battery fire. So is it better to shoot them after battery and lance fire? Seems like the rules required one to shoot NCs first, since originally one guestimated the range, correct? But nothing logically obligates someone to shoot them first now, because the range governs scatter distance rather than the guess mechanic. So again simply: why shoot them first? Thanks :) Nice game. Interesting ship mix.
Also all weapons in any single ship or squadron are considered to be shot simultaneously so the order does not matter. So no colum shifts for wb if you fist cause blasts with lances etc...
How did the Alpha legion assault boats get re-roll to all hit and runs? Marines usually get only +1 to the roll as they also did in this...
Found a way to get to re roll marine hit and runs. In chaos list you can take Mark of tcheenzh...
Also H&R against mechanicus can be re rolled. Devastating...

I got a question: In my latest Match i went up against Space Marines with Imperial Navy. I really struggled to do anything against the Armor 6 Ships of the SM. Any tips for y List suited to fight Space Marines? I wont really go up against anything else and the last match was a slaughter...
It’s a bit scummy in my opinion to tailor you lists for BFG but it’s also important to have a healthy balance of ordnance and lances in your list.
From the sounds of it seems you went very ordnance heavy and so struggled as a result. Maybe look at trying to swap in some lances and you’ll do much better vs their armour.
@@patrickwinfield8493 Well, i will only really play against Space Marines, as it is Part of our 30k Campaign. I will not face anything other than them, so a bit of tailoring should be okay. And that stomp i recieved shows, that with normal Guns and Ordonance i cant do anything while getting blown to pieces by Bombardmentcannons

First of all, Ash is playing Alpha Legion, who are a Chaos(-ish) faction. Furthermore, even despite of that, conflicts between different organisations within the Imperium are very commonplace, because of the incredibly monolithic bureaucracy, misunderstandings, egos, goals as well as differences in scripture, creed, and views. The Imperium squabbles amonst itself probably even more frequently than it's fighting against aliens, its history a long chain of civil war and internal strife.

@@nono7105 I know all that. And I was also just making a joke. And I also only answered Pierre's question with what Ash says himself in this video, who was treating this game as an engagement between the Mechanicum and the Alpha Legion set in the Horus Heresy, as he explains in the intro.
