The music at MWG has been getting terribly repetitious with that string section always sawing away in the background, and I am the type that likes just hearing the atmosphere of the content makers playing a game in the studio. It's more like being there with no distractions as you watch the play. I don't know if this was intentional, but I am all for it! :D
Luka's voice in that intro reminds me of some of the Nord voices from Skyrim! Next time say, "Hey, you! You're finally awake. Trying to cross the border, right? Just like us, and that horse thief over there."

BFG is a great game and it's awesome that you play it! Please make more reports. It's just you, Gaming with the Cooler and Guerilla Gaming who seem to do it. It's really one of the best games ever made. So, you made several errors in the rules. - You roll to attack with attack craft, and then roll the hit-and-run attack if they succeed. Edit: I just re-read the rules and you did it right... sort of. Escorts die on a 4+ as per the 2010 FAQ - Thunderhawks are Durable, so they get a 4+ save once per Ordnance phase which halts them. So a turret that shoots one down will be saved on 4+. - Harming armaments only hurts one at a time, not all starboard armaments go offline, just one. If there are multiple crits they can take several ones offline (or make it even harder to repair the same one). - You can do multiple boardings if you are in base contact with several ships. Essentially, add their hits together and then all ships involved take damage. So in this game, those two Escorts would count as having 2 hits if they were boarded simultaneously (which would have freed up the Ork fighta-bommas for other actions). - Fighta-Bommas do d3 +1 attacks when they bomb. BFG is full of little rules like these, some of them are quite counterintuitive with how the rest of the game works but they give it a lot of dimension as well. Keep at it! On a strategical level it was obviously a disaster to go All Ahead Full against Orks...

I believe the Hit and Run rule was revised so that hit and runs on escorts need to roll 4+ to inflict the critical hit (ie kill), so no more insta-kills with the Thunderhawks. With SM that would be a 3+ though.
Just a note on the planet rules: Line of sight is only blocked to ships on the _other side_ of the planet. If you can draw a line, stem to stem, from one ship to another which passes through the planet, line of sight is blocked, _unless_ the stem of at least one of the ships is on the planet. For the planet to block line of sight both ships have to be off the planet. Any ship _on_ the planet can see and be seen by any ship. As for torpedoes, they detonate upon making contact with the planet's edge. So torpedoes fired from on top of the planet can hit ships on the planet, but not ships off the planet, and vice versa.
some more rules comments: if a ship is on top of a planet, the planet does NOT block LOS, the orks could have shot all of the escorts in the first turn. The space marine escorts are armor 5+ not 6+ in the 2010 FAQ they added a simplified version of the blast marker rule that means you don't have to check the actual position of a blast marker, if a ship is in base contact with one everything shooting at it counts as shooting through it. In regards to hit and run attacks Vs. escorts the FAQ changed it so that you have to roll a 4+ to kill them, with your modifier adding to this roll. The Ork player should have rolled his turrets because that would mean he has a 50/50 chance to live if he shot one of the thunder hawks down. If you have a blast marker in contact with your base you half the dice you get when rolling to repair.
Another note about the thunderhawks, when they attack a capital ship you roll a hit and run attack per surviving thunderhawks. The turret value doesn't change this. Also you should definitely fire the turrets since that means you can shoot one down and lower the number of attacks.
We need a 2nd edition of Battle Fleet Gothic. For Orks I would give them less shields (as their powerfields are not as good as void shields) but to make up for it their smaller vessels would have more turrets (Because to Orks gunz are defensive weapons). It would make the smaller vessles mroe resistant to torpedoes and fighters but weaker to well guns and lances. The larger vessels can have more shields but then they go down to a single turret value as they believe their big ship is too big for small guns.
Unless im wrong each assault ship gets to make a H&R not just one for the wave. Also blue book the ork fighta/bommma gets 3d attacks. 2010 com the get an additional rule turret suppression might wana read that. other than that keep bfg coming love and miss this game
Ok, so, the way you handled the Thunderhawks against his Brute Ramships at 44:30 is weird. Yes, critical hits do automatically destroy escorts. Yes, that used to mean that a 2+ from any H&R attack would destroy an escort. Yes, Space Marines get +1 to the roll, meaning they would automatically destroy an escort. As you intimated though, this did get changed such that H&R attacks would inflict a critical hit against escorts on a 4+ instead of simply rolling against the critical hit table. Space Marines still get their +1 to the roll though, so it would be a 3+ for them. Now, I don't particularly blame you for not playing this rule, I was against the change myself. However, the weird part is that you didn't even roll defensive turrets. Without turrets it would only require a single TH per escort. Let's assume that he sent in 2 TH to each escort though, then it wouldn't matter what you roll, right? No. You can still brace. Why wouldn't you brace against automatic destruction? Hmm, on the one hand I'll have a chance for survival, but on the other hand I won't. Hmm. Tough decision. 🤔 So yes, roll turrets making him send in at least 2 THs at a time, and brace, to give your escorts a chance of surviving. With 3 escorts shooting turrets, let's say you get 2 hits, that means that 1 escort will need 2 successful brace saves (1 in 4) chance, and the other 2 will need 1 successful brace each (1 in 2). Odds are you'll come away with 1 escort, maybe 2 if you're lucky. If you play the new crit rule where he needs to roll the 3+ first then your odds of having 2 escorts left over jumps up. The moral of the story is brace, and then roll your turrets.
I don't know why absolutely everyone gets boarding wrong. You were close, but people always get the defensive turrets wrong. Defensive turrets modify the defender's _Boarding Value,_ not the dice roll. So his 10 hit Kroozer has a BV of 10. Your 1 hit, 1 turret, escort has a BV of 2 (1 + 1). 10 is more than four times greater than 2, therefore Orks get a +4 modifier to the roll. In the Ramship vs Gladius boarding action the Ork ships have a BV of 1 (1 hit) vs the Space Marines BV of 3 (1 hit + 2 defensive turrets). Giving the SM player a +3 bonus for tripling the enemy BV. So the SM player should have won both boarding actions. Having said that, even if you win there's still a chance of taking a critical hit, which if successful will still destroy the escort.

You do. The number of dice is determined by respective sizes, by category. The categories are Defence > Battleship > Cruiser > Escort. If you're ramming a larger target, the test is taken on 1d6. If the target is the same size it's a 2d6 test. If it's smaller it's a 3d6 test.
They were playing the THs wrong. He thought that you only get 1 H&R attack regardless of how many get through. Therefore the Ork player didn't bother rolling turrets because at least one was going to get through.

Centimeters are more accurate and considering how exact you need to be movement and placement compared to AoS or 40K centimeters makes sense

You can pre-measure everything in BFG. That change was made after the Nova Cannon was changed from a guess range weapon to a scatter roll.

Yes, but the all round BM rule is super bad and the kill on a 4+ against escorts was a stupid change.
SM Turn 2(?) the thunderhawks attacked a Terror Kroozer. The Kroozer had a blast marker in base contact so each wave of thunderhawks needed to roll

In a boarding action, the defender adds their turrets to their bording value, not to their boarding roll.
