C C I would love it. BFG was one of my favourite games. My only concern, given how they’ve released Blood Bowl and Necromunda, is that the game will be book purchase after book purchase as if they took a lesson from micro transactions in video games.

Buy a supplement for their army as well. And that other opponent? Yup, better buy their army book. GW is the master class for screwing their customers into spending more and more money. Don't even get started on the new editions that are just a worse set of rules, but require new army compositions.

It’s just I would love to play BFG but I know it would mean buying six books a year. 1 per fleet, then a rules supplement, then a book that combines everything previously released along with White Dwarf stuff. Then boom, they’ll do it again the next year. Technically I guess they need to make money, so you can’t fault them exactly, but other game companies, the companies I play now, seem to survive with free rules and living rulebooks that update for free. But perhaps that is because they are not the size of beast that GW has evolved into.
The Necron fleet is super tough. They can be taken out, however, if you just follow your Imperial Doctrine, put your faith in the Emperor, and blast the heck out of them. Nova Cannons forcing Brace For Impact in the big ships (reducing their firepower), Dauntless Light Cruiser teleport attacks to take out the escorts, and maximize all the dice you can summon to whittle down the big ships. Make no mistake, it's a heck of a fight, but it can be done. Oddly enough, all-rounder fleets seemed to fare the best against the Necron, if my memory serves me correctly. FOR THE EMPEROR!
Yep, combined arms is the way to go, just fire Lances first! Also, Necrons' give out stupid VP's so you don't necessarily need to do that much damage to get a victory
Absolutely great videos! It's cool to see some stuff for BFG on UA-cam this days, especially since this game is finally getting a bit revived due to 3d printing. I am currently printing out a lot of fleets for my gaming club so we can start over after Corona lock down ends

Per the 2010 Bfg FAQ, pg 12: Due to their much smaller size, escorts do not have a specialized critical table. Instead, all hit and run attacks (including assault boats and teleport attacks) destroy escorts on a roll of 4+ as opposed to 2+. Not clear if you are intentionally house ruling this differently or if if you were not aware of this change.
Overall I think you still make some tactical mistakes. One of these is that you constantly use your Escorts to fly as fast as possible forward. You can do that, and it's good in some situations, but weirdly in BFG Escorts aren't really good as screens. If you have four of them in a squadron and you get attacked with eight dice the odds are that you are going to lose one, compare this to a Cruiser that shouldn't get harmed at all, or a Battleship that should be impervious. Escorts are, in "fleet engagement" (not as in the scenario itself, but as in situations which are about fleet vs fleet combat rather than line breaking et all) good at two things IMO: They can hide in the background of capitol ships to make sure these do not get flanked or out-maneuvered and then dart forward to out-maneuever enemy ships or counter other escorts, or they are good at running down a flank to out-maneuever. BFG is all about being in the right spot, at the right time, which Escorts excel at but they are pretty weak the way you guys use them which you can see in how fast your squadrons degrade and how many VPs your enemy gets from them. Try it my way one game and see the difference! You should also pay a lil' more attention to not flying into asteroids. Both in this game and the one where you play 500p Space Marines vs Eldar you set up your ships so they fly into an asteroid field the first thing they do. That's just not good. Also, try to think a few turns ahead, in this game a Necron vessel is so damaged because of some bad flying that could have been rectified two turns earlier without a problem. I love your videos and really appreciate you playing BFG on YT. I get that this is not your "main" game, so a few issues here and there isn't a big deal, but I hope you will take some of my (hard learned) advice to heart. :)
Where are the Ork designs from? They look like the original space fleet instead of BFG? Was the battleship printed or an original metal BFG model as it looks more ramshackle to the others?
I actually think they did it wrong. I seem to remember that bracing gave them +2 to to their save, not a 2+ save. So, the save should be 3+ for the cruisers when braced. The guys on this channel constantly get important rules wrong, it's a bit triggering. Their biggest ship, which wasn't used in this game, has a 4+ base save, and so it actually does get a 2+ save when braced, but that was the only ship which could get that, from what I remember.
Rules note: Blast markers are only placed for hits against shields, not hull. So Necrons don't receive blast markers when shot at.
I'd do unmentionable things for GW to revive this game.

The best way to play GW game is just have your own rules with your friends. Me and my friends play on a highly modified 7th edition

Boarding actions, too. You can't brace for impact boarding action damage and it automatically hulks a ship if it kills it.

They're all online! GW Released them for free so just google Battlefleet Gothic PDF and you should have no problem finding them.

The necrons seem a tiny bit broken... Bracing giving you a 2+ seems really strong.
Their ships are hella expensive, and you get loads of victory points for even damaging them
