Ash rolled like Cullen with his battleship lol! It was quite painful to see! This was a magnificent game. I loved how Chaos was able to destroy 3 Strike Cruiserd and then disengaging without having lost any ships. It felt a bit like what the High Sea Fleet did in the Battle of Jutland during WWI. Thanks for the game guys and I hope to see a lot more BFG on this channel!
How many space marines died...from a nominal strength of 1000 the chapter would be crippled after a single engagement from the thunderhawk losses alone!
For every single marine there could be thousands of serfs. Your average strike cruiser might have the firepower of an imperial battleship but it still probably only carries half a company of actual marines.
Sure, but each Thunderhawk token supposedly has enough marines to count them for boarding purposes so blowing up a handful of thunderhawks (like in the first turn) is killing so many marines...
Each Strike Cruiser can hold 100 Astartes. The Battle Barge can hold up to 300 Astartes. The escorts normally have around 10 Astartes on them. Each Thunderhawk can transport 30 Astartes and a Dreadnought. So...losing the 3 Strike Cruisers could mean up up to 300 Astartes dead. All of the Thunderhawks would easily add up to hundreds of Astartes lost. So, the Blood Angels would have been crippled after this engagement, if they were fully loaded. It would take centuries to recover from this one battle alone...
the ships MAY carry that much but many will only have 1 marine, normally an officer level for a strike cruiser or a smaller ship. even a battlebarge in some situations will only have half a company to man it during fleet engagements. but that many thunderhawks dying.....yeah lol that would cripple a chapter for a bit.
Hey Man....how did you pack your models when flying? I want to bring my models to Adepticon next year, but im scared they will get trashed during the luggage handling .....any tips?
so my BFG fleet i actually stuck in the current small gw case with the second layer of foam turned upside down to cushion it from either side, and then it went into the middle of my suitcase snug and secure. but i only did this cus my BFG fleet was glued onto the stands by the previous owner. with my 40k and stuff i have a travelling case from KR cases that comes filled with smaller army cases with bespoke foams. and before you ask no i'm not a salesman for KR haha, i just really dig KR stuff. and their customer service is awesome
@@benthetoastman Is there a trick to keeping the bigger metal ships from snapping its plastic stand? I thought about cutting threads into the ship itself and using a bolt to make a stand.

Where I could find a copy of the rules for Battlefleet Gothic ? I see that it is a game no more supported by GW - at least I see no products related to this game on GW sites anymore... So - where and how did you buy the models and the rulebooks you used for doing the video we see here ?
Ben you need to be a bit more assertive :) On a side note, shouldnt disengaging carry a 'penalty' of some short? Otherwise it feels like you could kill one ship quickly and then disengage and win... feels a bit... meh.
Narrativewise it makes some sense (less so in missions where you're defending planets). Firestorm Armada does it too with 'fold space escape' but it's not a good idea in that game due to how long and how vulnerable you are while charging the engines.
Yes in Armada you are vulnerable, plus a boarding action can cancel it... in the actual game there is no real penalty. So yes, Ash, it is part of the game but it doesnt make for a 'great' engaging game session if you were to jump in, shoot a couple of escorts with your 60cm lances (or nova cannons) and then pull out...
@@horhevamp8890 Unless you're a "play to win" fanatic, there is no reason to do that. There is no fun in having a 10 minutes game where you took more time setting the game up than playing.
