Ann and Nancy Wilson are the only group that that were given permission by Led Zeppelin to sing this Led zeppelin song. It's amazing that Ann was sick with the flu but sang at this performance to honor the group. It's hard not to shed a tear when you see Jason looking up honoring his dad John Bonham. @@andreadeamon6419 Do you drummers only have one set? Like guitarists they can have more than one. Everything I heard it is John Bonham's set. Could anyone verify this one way or the other?
I mean how could he not. They at least equaled the original, turning a classic rock song, maybe the greatest of all time, to an anthemic, orchestral, spiritual performance. Mesmerizing. I have always said, and here is the proof, rock, orchestra, and choir are a match made in heaven. Actually, a Stairway to Heaven.
I can't tell you how many times I've watched this performance. This is, in my opinion, the best live tribute ever recorded. And to have done it in front of the godfathers of Hard Rock, incredible.
I'm speechless!. You have to be very brave.. to take on Stairway. Infront of the originators.. to boot. Flawless performance. A musical.. religious experience.
It was a surprise to everyone that Jason was going to play drums on this song, apparently he even took out his dad's old derby hat for the performance. What is extra special is that John Bonham was Robert Plants best friend and after his passing Robert was never the same. Plant was moved to tears this evening seeing his best friend and band mates son playing on stage with his dad's hat on. Near the end of the song Jason looked up as to say Dad this was for you! Very powerful evening for all who witnessed this. Heart is a Class Act! GREAT REACTION SHAWN/MEL

I saw Heart live 3 times and they are phenomenal, Ann Wilson her voice is a gift from angels and Nancy is a fantastic guitar player plus an amazing vocal and back vocals one of the best back vocals I have ever heard live. Go see them if you have the chance it will stay with you forever
Watching the son of a beloved band mate who had passed away effectively ending the group playing in his fathers place playing the groups most iconic song wearing the same hat his father wore in tribute to his father can definitely pull on the heart strings. The acknowledgment of each to the other and the memories of their shared loss couldn’t help but be emotional.
This version of this song will never age. It was not just a stellar performance. It was and is a forever performance. Thank you for your reaction. I am 55 years old and have listened to Stairway so many times I can’t come close to guessing. But this version sent the song to a different universe. The build from the beginning foundations of respectful original tones. Tasteful rearrangements. Adding of choir, strings, horns then super choir from heaven while Ann Wilson revved her vocal chords to maximum heart (no pun) and soul (when she says the “yeah” after “when all are one and one is all”, I cry every time) and all the players, most definitely including Jason (God rest his father’s soul) Bonham and Nancy Wilson but also everyone else - nothing is left that can be said but a from center of soul thank you 🙏🏽
I've been listening to Heart since the 70's, in the beginning they did a lot of LZ covers but they are legends in their own right. Legends honoring rock gods, a fantastic interpretation. Jason Bonham on drums playing tribute to his godfather Robert Plant and Jimmy Page listening intently and enjoying Shane Fontayne's guitar solo...JPJ looked as though he enjoyed everything about the tribute...
There are few voices that could pull this off... Ann Wilson is one of those very few.... She is amazing. Heart is a worthy and deep rabbit hole. Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones were obviously pleased.

Heart is great, one of my favorite bands. The 2nd half of that ovation was for Led Zeppelin. I'm following your Heart journey. Going to "All I Wanna Do Is Make Love To You" next.
This video cracks me up everytime. When it gets to the guitar solo, Jimmy Page is looking on with an expression that says, "Yes... You got this.... Now go for it!" Like he's the coach in a sports movie that believed in you all along and was waiting for you to finally believe in yourself.

Ann Wilson is not only one of the best damn rock singers ever- she's also a very generous performer - had she held that mic closer, and used the full power of her voice, she could have blown that chorus off the stage - no shade on them but I've seen Heart in concert more than any other band and she held back to feature them. I've seen them at least once every decade since the 70s. My favorite two songs of theirs are Love Alive (when Michael was still their drummer) and Bebe Le Strange.

I just saw Heart for the 3rd time in 2018!! They were going back on the road in 2020, then the pandemic. Sisters Ann (black hair) and Nancy (blonde hair) have been in the biz for nearly 40 years!!❤❤They are still at the top of their game. Haven't lost a beat. They're vocals are still🔥. Icons. Legends💕
I saw this performance the first time it aired on VH1, and I've seen this video hundreds of times. I still get a lump in my throat and chills every single time. Just imagine, performing one of the most legendary songs ever, by one of the most legendary bands ever, in front of the surviving members of that band, while the son of their deceased drummer plays the drums. No pressure there. :) They pulled that off like nobody else could. Ann Wilson has one of the best voices ever.
You have to watch the whole show. All the performances were great but Heart really took the house down. I remember seeing this when it first aired and I was jumping around in my living room I was so excited! Can you imagine having to sing that in front of LZ? They not only pulled it off, they killed it!
So glad you picked the clip that actually shows Jason Bonham being introduced at the beginning! Knowing who he is adds so much to this performance to me! So many reactors don’t know who he is and miss that piece of the greatness that is this performance! I liked Lenny’s and Foo Fighters performance from this tribute as well!
I actually watched one reactor who asked why the camera kept panning back to the "three old dudes". (lol) I never returned to that channel so can't say who it was.
No matter how many times I watch this. Goosebumps head to toe. The drummer is passed and that was son playing the drums. Ann is the singer and Nancy on the guitar. AMAZING PERFORMANCE
Another great cover of Led Zeppelin is "Heart The Battle Of Evermore 1995" it's a chilling performance. Just 2 ladies acoustic guitars. This cover is awesome as this one is.

Bless it. Actually give legs to a tribute. These are the women all us female ROCK fans know represent and pave a way. ❤️👏❤️👏
The Barracuda video was from 1977. Ann is the main vocalist. Nancy took the lead on a few songs like "These Dreams" which was a hit back in the 80s. Enjoyed your reaction to such a legendary performance! Stairway to Heaven is one of the best songs ever written.
I never get tired of watching someone see this performance for the first time...the reason I picked up the guitar was Stairway to Heaven....the very first concert I attended was to see April Wine...the "Special Guest " was this "opening act" that no one had heard of before...no one ever forgot...It was HEART! But we didn't know just yet. I will NEVER FORGET.
Thank you for your reaction, S&M! Imagine singing and playing this TO the surviving Led Zeppelin band members! Heart had a deep love and appreciation for Led Zep and if you want to explore more of the connection I invite you to react to Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart performing the Led Zeppelin song "The Battle of Evermore". In that song both Ann and Nancy display sides of their musical talents you do not see in most of their other songs. Trust me, you will not be disappointed! Love your channel and all the energy the two of you bring!
Battle of Evermore is AMAZING !!
You can see the respect they Led Zeppelin has for Heart. I can't imagine the pressure that Heart was going through to sing this infront of Zeppelin
