I read somewhere that Ann and Nancy Wilson only rehearsed for 45 minutes with the choir before they performed this amazing version of Stairway to Heaven at the Kennedy Center Honors. I have watched this video I don’t know how many times and it still gives me goosebumps!’
the fact that Ann's voice can be heard nice and clear over an entire choir and orchestra...while she was SICK WITH THE FLU...speaks to her legendary voice and status. Only Ann and Nancy could do this.

Huge props to the sound tech/s during sound check getting everything dialed in so we COULD hear her over everything else without anything feeling like it was blasting or subpar.
Amazing performance. One special day in rock history. I was blessed to see Heart play this in Austin. Great reaction on your part too man! Music is magic. It gets my penguin wings a goin'. ☺
Yes! This performance absolutely hits me my heart so hard because it's so beautifully done. The energy going back and forth between the members of led Zeppelin and Jason and heart and you can feel their love just feeling that whole place. It's something that just so touching and beautiful and powerful to witness all at once.
Dude, i’m 57 years old and I’ve watched this performance at least 15 times since it was televised…Maybe the fact that Jason surprised them, maybe the bowler hat, maybe the rings on the drum kit,!but what an absolutely spectacular rendition of one of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll songs ever created.. hats off to Ann and Nancy…🇺🇸❤️ and I’m still tearing with joy and sorrow…🤐
Nothing to add but this: let's get some love for the lead guitarist. "Hey, we've got a gig for you. We want you to play the guitar solo in "Stairway to Heaven," at a command performance in front of the surviving members of Led Zeppelin. Oh, and by the way, the president and first lady will be there too. No pressure." 😳

04:08 Ann's not singing lower. The original song was in A minor, Heart are doing it in A minor. It's just that instruments (like the voice) of higher *timbre* generally sound fuller in their lower *pitch* ranges. In other words, if you played the same notes on the higher register of a baritone sax it sounds thinner and more abrasive compared with the same notes on an alto sax. Same would go for 'cello vs violin, etc. People often confuse timbre with pitch-hell, even scientists often do it. This is why Karen Carpenter, once she was convinced her voice sounded better in its lower register and started cranking out hits, used to joke: "The money's in the basement."

Gotta find THAT one....
I can't believe that whoever recommended this to you didn't tell you Jason Bonham was on drums.
This performance always gives me chills, even after watching it probably over 100 times......such a wonderful tribute!!!
I was so happy to see you react to this one. When I first watched it I doubted whether Heart could pull it off. I was up on my feet by the time it was over. I mean they nailed it.
Dude I absolutely love when you are enjoying a song the smile on your face is absolutely infectious. Stay blessed🙏🙏🙏
Great reaction! I just saw this performance the other while live streaming and loved it. She did an excellent job covering this song.
This always makes me cry. I love them so much. And I love how much you appreciate them, Van. Thank you ☮️💜
John Bonham was one of the greatest drummers in Rock history. The derby hat was his trademark. They quit playing after his death at the height of their greatness. He was irreplaceable.
Ann is one of the few singers in the world that can pull this off and do it right.
