Poland and Slovakia understand that MiGs are familiar to Ukrainian pilots, Ukraine has the infrastructure (maintenance support). US jets are not familiar. It’s not like loaning your Honda Civic to your neighbor. If the US had MiGs, they’d have been sent already. The F-16 is a staple craft to American pilots, but not to a Ukrainian pilot. You don’t want them to take off and crash due to inexperience. Drones are a far more effective contribution.

MIG29 is still a very capable fighter. It outperforms the F16 in many categories, which most countries still use (including the USA).

It is time for good people of the world (who can still vote) to stop playing around and put a 500%+ tariff on ALL dictatorships. Free trade should only be with free people. All democracies must join together in a free-trade union to finally make all governments accountable to their people by taking the profit out of oppression. The Baltic republics remain the champions of aiding the Ukrainians. They give 41% - 50% of their military budget to Ukraine as military aid. That does no other country. Estonia has given all of its artillary to Ukraine. That does no other country. Their total aid for Ukraine is nearing 1% of their GDP (Latvia and Lithouania) or is larger than 1% of their GDP (Estonia). That's also something that no other country does.
None of them have given anything near as much as the US does. They can take over, we are done wasting our tax dollars on Ukraine.

Not very good at all since Ukraine literally flew helicopters into Russia itself at one point.
US must provide jets to Ukraine now, F16s, F15s, F18s, A10s, EA8s. Send them to save Ukraine while it still exist. Rather than mothballing F22s, B1s airframe in the desert.
I think I remember a statement that the US was training Ukrainian pilots and maintainers on f16s in the US. It'll take a while but I hope that we will send some over.

Not really as Russian air defence doesn’t cover most of Ukraine and Ukraine now got the capability to bomb stuff from 50 miles away and any way Russian air defence seems to be letting a lot of easy to shoot down stuff through
Maybe you are not knowledgeable in military tactics. They more likely will be used for close air support along with tanks and infantry. The plan is not to go deep into Russia or engage in air to air combat outside of Ukraine's territory or to bomb Russian towns. However, military targets even in Russian territory are fair game. Russian air defenses supporting the Russian controlled areas of Ukraine have not been effective against HIMARS and other types of airborne threats so based on how effective HIMARS and other airborne delivery methods have been against the Russians close air support is a valid use for the MiG-29. So to say "won't they shoot those down" is like saying don't have infantry because they will be shot too. Is a blank generic statement without much thought behind it.
Probably not, considering that helicopters have gotten through there screens before, with that little bridge job in Crimea.

They already know how to fly this jet. Ukraine had 43 operational MiG-29's before the invasion. They have more pilots than planes right now.
I think you got your numbers mixed up. 4 hours is roughly how long an untrained russian conscript with cardboard shoes and a WWII surplus rifle will make it before the Ukrainians stare too hard at them and punch right through their sheet metal body "armor".
