Ex British soldier who spent 7 very happy years of his 16 years of service in Germany. Now it's Germany's turn to be based elsewhere in case the unthinkable becomes a reality. I hope the Bundeswehr youngsters deploying get everythng they deserve to be getting from their politicians back in the safety of Berlin. Munitions/food/fuel/weaponry/funds for training/repairs and most of all if and when these fine young Germans need to deploy for the real thing those same politicians don't suddenly lose their sense of duty toward their soldiers. Agreed. It's often talked up that we Brits have beef with the Germans, not true. We have a great deal of respect for Germany and for most other Northern Europeans, it's the French we can't stand. Germany has been helping train and equip Ukraine and is building up it's forces, and it looks like Germany could be joining the Tempest project with Sweden, Japan and the UK for the successor to the Eurofighter.

My great grandfather was a decorated WW1 vet before entering politics in Canada - serving in various positions in municipal, provincial & federal government. Other info - such as the fact Canada could have also been an atomic power the same time as the US if it chose such a path. As an American and New Yorker I grew up in the shadows of the twin towers and my dad, an immigrant from Ireland, worked on the construction of those towers so I was deeply touched when NATO invoked article 5 for the first time and only time so far in its 70 year history. I am also a dual US/EU citizen and strong supporter of NATO, US and EU. Long live NATO, Slava Ukraine and welcome Finland and Sweden to the family. I support Ukraine joining NATO and EU.
The real aim is to heat up an already unnecessary cold war. Advanced awareness under the guise of defence will make the future deaths more palitable to the public.

I served in NATO during the late 70's, and I commend the professionalism and dedication of NATO personnel today! However, I noted that drones, and drone countermeasures, were not included in the maneuvers, nor mentioned in the narrative. I hope this was due to security measures, and not a sign that NATO will fight the next war using the wrong weapons and tactics!

(Russia was involved in 20 active conflicts since 1991 and in 12-13 of those Russia was the agressor or on the side of the agressor the majority of them being miliztary actions against its neghbours (ukraine, georgia, Moldowa etc) or brutally beating down oppositon movementsor separatist movements, in ways that can be described as genocidal (Chechen wars and dagestan wars, where russia killed close to 500k civilians etc)
