- Pakistan has picked up a fight with Canada over its Army Chief Gen. Bajwa. Canadian MP Tom Kmiec slammed Ottawa for allocating $50,000 for Bajwa's 2020 visit to Canada. The visit never happened. The issue hasn't died down. Canadians want to know why such money was allocated. Palki Sharma reports.

In the 1965 war with Pakistan, India faced an acute shortage of wheat as the US had issued an embargo on wheat imports (we used to import wheat those days). Lal Bahadur Shastri, who was the prime minister of India those days asked his family to skip having meals once a day. Pakistan, which enjoyed patronage from the US those days was snigggering at us.
And today, the UN is requesting India to export wheat to other countries while Pakistan is asking its people to cut down on tea and reduce consumption.

There is a desire to manage sincerely by the establishment. I think you will get some relief in long run.
The problem is a corrupt leadership. Managers can be hired from outside too. The focus on religious extremism and exporting terror has done Pakistan in.
Since most Pakistani origin citizens in Europe and Canada live on benefits and hardly ever work or pay any taxes, it would be left to other Canadians to pay for Bajwa's trip which is completely unacceptable. I can therefore understand this MP's anger.

Pakistani Army captured them, kidnap Balochis, throw them from helicoptors, dump their dead and mutilated bodies in their streets. Pakistani Air Force is bombing Kunar and Khost, blowing pashtun women and children to smithereens. They are committing war-crime. Here are the details however. (1) Mir Ahmad Yar Khan, the Khan of Kalat, declared Balochistan’s independence on August 12, 1947.
(2) M. A. Jinnah recognised Kalat as an independent state on August 12, 1947
(3) Pakistan declared independence on August 14, 1947.
(4) Like on everything else, Pakistanis and Jinnah turned on the promise they made. Their hunger to capture other people's lands increased many times over after they captured Kharan, Makran and Lasbella.They started to demand merger from Mir.
(5) The Balochistan parliament rejected merging with West Pakistan on several occasions between December 14, 1947 and February 25, 1948.

(7) With Pakistani terrorist Army gun pointed to his head, Mir Ahmad signed merger on March 27, 1948.

I don't think Wion is obsessed with Pakistan. I checked their playlist, there are many important topics from across the globe being covered. pls don't pass comments without any basis.
They do seem to be critical of the rich being taxed and those taxes going towards benefitting and assisting the poor though, if this video by WION is anything to go by. They also seem critical of China. They work out of New Delhi, are an Indian organization called "World Is One" and have assistance from Israel it seems (like the rest of the Indian Government). I think they are probably a little slanted in their coverage.
Forced disappearances, human right violations and extra judicial killings are definitely a complicated problem which the local courts and the law enforcement agencies are trying to address & resolve. Having said so, they are usually a resultant of fighting the same war on terror that the West imposed upon us, to which Canada has been a part of and strong coalition partner to. The Canadian MP also ought to take notice of the human right violations in Afghanistan at the hands of the allied forces. And not to mention those going on in Kashmir for decades and entire India against its minorities lately. But what can you expect from the Canadians when it comes to human rights since thousands of unidentified, unmarked, mass graves of primarily children were discovered in Indigenous schools most probably after some were molested and even tortured to death or buried alive by the Roman Church members/so-called Christian teachers!
PS: As long as a democratically elected government is sent packing home in a democratic constitutional legal manner, it should not be made a fuss out of!
