I just noticed something: at 5:15, you can see the original beard, with everything on it - and how it's a gift from him. but Uncle Dane went a step higher. You see, if someone wanted to pass another beard off as Uncle Dane's OG beard, they could have made a steam account named Uncle Dane and replicated the description and title, making it hard to figure out which beard is legit. So, what Uncle Dane did, was make the gift date the 26th, therefore negating this possible confusion, as nobody would have had the foresight to gift a fake beard before the video came out.

They're pretty much craftable unusuals.
Too late. Gun mettle update made unusual guns. Thus making the collectors weps impossible to have an effect.
Unless it's hats, but yet again, the prices are way too high for unusuals and collectors will just make it pointless
Valve could just make collector's items have a special "collector's only" effect, similar to how community-quality items have the community sparkle unusual effect applied to them.

Dane... I have an idea for a series or something----- "Dare Dane" Where you take suggestions from the comments and try to complete the challenges. Something TF2 related and probably something Engineer related too. For example, to start you could try to get top score on a server by: only getting assists (not allowed to use medic) or not using your sentry. Alternatively, you could try and convince your team (or do a community game) not to cap the point on KOTH until 3 minutes, and try to hold the point until your 3 minutes is up. Just starting ideas, you can do whatever dares you like of course.
