FARB gel criminal identifier is for identifying someone who has or is committing a crime. It is legal to own and carry in the UK.
However, if you threaten to use it on someone who has not committed a crime or is in the process of committing a crime or you believe is about to commit a crime then it could be classed as a weapon and possibly aggravated assault.

Firearms Act 1968 Section 5 Weapons subject to general prohibition.
Part b. any weapon of whatever description designed or adapted for the discharge of any noxious liquid, gas or other thing;
So is it a liquid? Yes. Is it noxious? Could be argued no.
The problem comes with the catch all "or other thing".
@llsmith6908 There is no catch all, Its noxious liquid, gas or other thing, so like I said the other thing other than a liquid or a gas has to also be noxious. Could be an elastic band gun designed to fire noxious pepper powder balls for example which would fall under the firearms act but if you make an elastic band gun that only fired baby powder then that wouldn't fall under the firearms act would it.
There is. It's written by lawyers.
a) Noxious thing
b) Gas
c) Other thing
I suspect you want to read it as
a) Noxious thing
b) Noxious gas
c) Noxious other thing.
It's all down to the comma.
@@PINACI
So your example of baby powder.
It's another thing. So what a prosecutor would do is say the law is clear. It's giving a list of three items that are the test under section 5.
Is it noxious? No, unless you go with the baby powder causes cancer thing from the US.
Is it a gas? No.
So its not a noxious thing, its not a gas, its an other thing.
They wrote the law deliberately to catch anything, so they can prosecute anything.
Where you and I would agree, that's wrong. But that's the government targeting the public
@@PINACI
Let me give you an example.
Do you want custard pie, jelly, or something else?
Does that mean you must have custard if you choose something else?
custard = noxious liquid
Jelly = gas
other thing = something else
That's how a prosecutor would read that law, its how the police would read it.

You’ve been Tangoed !!! What a great explanation of how to legally carry this gel !!!
so when the police ask you what's it for don't say defence and you're good

Exactly. Red faced is funny. Pink with glitter another option. Or we are looking for Mr Green.
The trouble is if you start waving this around nobody knows what it is, it might be mistaken for pepper spray or even acid
@@DJFAmenHeavyit might matter to auditors if they start waving it around and police turn up thinking it could be something else

I don’t have a problem with decent folk being able to carry for self defence. If you are smart about it, you can certainly carry items to defend yourself to outwit the criminals!
Im amazed that the British people have no real means to protect themselves in public.
Oh go away will you, we don't need weapons, we are not little babies like the Yanks, more weapons mean more weapon attacks, simple disputes end in deaths.

It's Based Welshman here I would very much appreciate you doing a video on the new BWV from the company Reveal.
UK po po throughout the UK seem to be using them, I believe they have facial recognition capabilities. Sometimes the TV screen on these BWVs doesn't seem to be on yet they are involved in a incident, do the BWVs have a black screen mode anther wards hiding the fact its recording. I haven't found out yet if its definitely recording yet ! etc.
I'm only asking you bc I find your research, knowledge and personal experience invaluable on these matters. Plus your video on the above subject would benefit the public in general
Much respect
BasedWelshman
I'll look into the camera but I can say that with my various bodycamera that they all have stealth mode built in which prevents any lights or beeping sound when using them and the video screen on them and most cameras turn off after about 30 seconds anyway to prolong the battery power. But I'll look into the camera but can't promise I'll make a video no the subject.
Chili sauce in a spray bottle for those that like spicy food?
So police can have guns, tazers, batons, pepper spray,.. and we can have nothing, sounds fair…
Another reason the Police can abuse their powers looking for CS Gas that they know you don't have.
TLA got searched for it today
Edit : oh its TLA who you’re on about 2:18
…but if they’re not assaulting you (for example, if they’re using reasonable force to remove a trespasser) then identifying them with it IS assault on your part.
That was one of the points I was trying to make but didn't want to mention any names 😊 And aggravated assault at that.
@@PINACIName him, TLA…..he’s an idiot
Basically, unless FARB gel can cause injury they can't say it's an offensive weapon.
They can and they will.

@@MrAndrewFarrowfound you again spouting your nonsense 🤦♀️🤦♀️ they cannot!! If only the simpletons of Britain knew that legislation DOES require consent, but the brainwashing of the morons has worked soooo well so most people believe that it doesn’t require consent! Common law supersedes statute law, ALL statutes must be rational and comply with common law, the firearms act does neither!!
@@adenwellsmith6908 you’re having problems with the comma.
You’ll not be the first.
It says noxious things that are liquid, gas or other.
To say what you say it says it would have to say; noxious liquid or gas, or other thing.
You can buy specially strengthened ( _fighting_ ) walking sticks with a larger than usual crook as the handle which can (with a little training and practice at your local Jiu-Jitsu Dojo) be useful if ever you need to look for something to be used in an emergency self-defence scenario ... and the beauty is that you can take such walking aids on busses & trains and aircraft usually with no questions asked 😉
Surgical spirits, hot pepper powder and a fire extinguisher👍👍👍👍👍👍
Since you last vid on this I brought some and always carry this on me and in the car and have not needed to use it yet. The exp date on it is soon and will replace it and never be with out it.
In my younger days, I was attacked by a man luckily I had a small can of elnet hairspray in my bag, he got a facefull of that and I was able to run to safety. I have personal alarms, always walk with my keys in one hand and a travel size hairspray in the other. I'm in my late 50s now, never been accosted since but always expect it. Yes I'm weird but I would rather be done for spraying someone with hairspray than be mugged or worse. Yes I did go to the police but it was the late 70s and a Sargent told me nice girls are home by 9 pm. Nothing was ever done about it they just took a description of the chap. So not alot of change there. 😊
Nanny-state UK is pathetic.
100% correct
The best way is not to let them see it. If they see it then they can mistake it for pepper spray and the police have to investigate. Dont mention it and keep it concealed until you have to deploy it to mark a criminal. The bike lock i use is always to hand, i carry it to lock my bike but that would mark a criminal for later identification 😂 😜
Instantly part of dpd's colour scheme 😂
Criminal identity spray... Not self-defence spray 👍✌️
any noxious liquid, gas or other thing;

It's or. It's not another thing and that thing has to be noxious.
Not sure where you get another thing from ? I never said another thing.
Section 5 b of the fire arms act - I've replied above to the text and its interpretation. Down to a comma.
@@PINACI
@@PINACI the UK laws around firearms covers anything that can be physically propelled at someone. The noxious part here isn't important. It literally says and means "any other thing".
My understanding is that farb gel is intended as an identifier and not as a weapon so carrying it is reasonable but using it against a trespassing landowner would indeed be a firearms offense.
I could be wrong but that's how I understand
@@byMRTNjournalsIts doesn't say "any other thing" it says "or other thing" A nurf gun can physically propel projectiles but its not a firearm.

Same in The Cowboy USA: you must be in fear of bodily injury to use or threaten to use any "noxious" spray to "defend" one's self. Many states however make it easy to carry a gun for the same purpose.👼
