- U.K Self Defence : Can I carry anything as a WEAPON in the U.K?
These are some items you can legally carry and could use in an emergency, if you carry any of these items with the intent to use as a weapon you can be prosecuted for carrying an offensive weapon, therefore you need items that can be used legitimately while out and about.

if you use weapon on people you will go to jail. What is the average sentence for Section 18?
If convicted of a Section 18 GBH, the maximum sentence you could receive is a life sentence of imprisonment. Most cases will not be sentenced to life imprisonment, the most severe cases have a starting point of 12-years imprisonment. At the lower end of severity, a starting point of 3-years imprisonment will be taken
@@johnwick1483 if someone is trying to kill you (say with a knife) i suspect using a pen or a bottle to defend yourself (that you just happened to have on you) would be classed as reasonable force = no prison / conviction, what you're talking about is being the attacker, i'm not.
Remember, it is better to be judged by 12 than to be carried by 6.
Quality! I have never heard that before! and so very true!
Pete 🏴
2 feet in the dock is better than 6 feet in the ground.
Rule 1 - If you have to use something to defend yourself with, don't tell the police you were carrying it for self defence
Exactly mate!
This. Technically speaking you can legitimately be arrested for carrying a roll of soggy toilet paper but only if you say it's for the express purpose of self-defense. It may sound ridiculous and honestly most police will just laugh but technically.... It's arrestable.
Rule 2- if you have to use something for self defense you better use something that is effective in any situations, like a Glock 19 and then explain to the police that you are only carrying it in your pocket as a weight so the wind won't blow you away, it helps you to stay grounded 😂You'll probably go to prison (based on the current laws) but at least you'll be alive.
Disguise a brick as block of cheese by painting it orange and glueing a slice of bread to each side.

Great video mike 👍
Only criminals are armed
Except when you use it.
Then justify it.
In Australia I had a fixed blade 2 inches on a dive belt, in a padlocked bag full of diving gear, in a locked pelican case, in a locked boot of my car. We were stopped by police because allegedly my car was a common type of car used for ram raids, we were exited at gun point, and I suspect to save face for so much drama over nothing they ransacked the car and found that as an excuse and said they were either confiscating it or charging me criminally for it. I asked them to charge me criminally for it so I can see them in court and get my knife back (it was given to me when I got my SCUBA license by my long deceased father when I was 16) - he shook his head, put it in his pocket, and they left us to clean up the mess. Contacted his department asking for an event number. They didn't log the stop, didn't log the knife, didn't log anything. Chased it up every few days for weeks, no event created. So I got mugged by cops at gunpoint. Go figure.
I found a huge claw hammer recently, it was just lying in the middle of the road, I turned round and rescued it, I consider it a gift!
the law in the uk is bollocks
Israel has the right to defend itself. Us on the other hand..
A brick in a backpack is just me walking my brick
Anything my missus 'cooks' could be classed as a lethal weapon.
Carry what you feel you need to. It's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.
Where do you live? Gaza?
@@gobalmighty7463 I carry in the UK the same 1911 that I carried in Gaza, what's your point?!!! Or do you even have one
Hi Mike. The Law in the UK is backwards , we are considered guilty even before we do anything , EVERYONE should be allowed to carry whatever they want , IF you use it in a criminal way then you should receive HARSH punishment. Convict the guilty NOT the innocent. Use punishment as a deterrent. Today in Britain we have thugs carrying and using weapons to commit crime ( the victim is powerless to defend themselves ) and the offender is more often or not given a slap on the wrist and released to re-offend. The REAL reason the government wants us defenseless is to stop us standing up to government TYRANNY. Until people realise that we are finished as a free nation.
Very true!
Totally agree , check out my comment on law being backwards.
One for the ladies, keep a Jif lemon in your handbag it’s handy to spray in an attackers eyes from a decent distance (if you’ve ever got lemon juice in your eyes you’ll know why) at the least it will give you a head start or time to call for help.
Thank you, good idea! I tried hairspray but it only made my attackers smell nice. Jif Lemon - I'll get a bottle rightaway!

Always remember guys. Would rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6. In this day and age, do what you need to do.
I have the outlook of self preservation over rides a British government law.
Yet people are walking around with knives but you can’t Carry anything to deter an attack
That's right. In the 1953 debate in UK parliament of the Offensive Weapons Act, the Home Secretary said that you have to avoid being in a situation where you will need to defend yourself !
It’s crazy how you’re not allowed to defend yourself but the criminals are free to carry lethal weapons to kill you.
The short (and only) answer is 'NO' - you cannot carry anything 'as a weapon'. Proof of intent lies with the police however - especially if it is on your person. A knife in your pocket could be construed as intent - a knife in a fishing box on you way to go fishing could be seen as reasonable. It's a cruel world.
carry what you like and use it if attacked then worry about it
Just say your attacker dropped it.
I fully agree! protect one self at all costs, there is no proper law protecting us from attackers worth anything.
Better to be tried by 12 than carried by six
The law is based on INTENT. If u carry anything with the intention of using it as a weapon and when a cop asks you why you are carrying something. Never tell a cop anything as they are just fishing for something to nick you on. Knowing the law is your most valuable weapon in my opinion. Good vid.
Thanks mate, great advice too, cheers for watching
Should answer back. Why are you walking about armed to the teeth.
only criminals are allowed to carry anything.
it is still illegal for them to carry a weapon, stop fearmongering
@@JMD-er5jq Is that going to stop them then? I think not.
@@JMD-er5jq A smart man only believes half of what he hears, a wise man knows which half. You're missing the point entirely. In the reality of seconds counting while police are a phone call and minutes away, why am I criminalised for utilising the means necessary to preserve my life?
Demographics aside regarding violent crime, why are my hands tied by the state when this emboldens the criminal while they put people in jail for 24 moths for putting up stickers?
It's not, they just don't care about the consequences whereas respectable people do.
@@jjefferyworboys8138 The state knows this so why criminalise self preservation?
We can't even use harsh language. That would be a public order offence.
The best tool shown is the umbrella. It keeps the rain off and is good as standoff defensive tool to keep people at a distance. Also good for dogs. William Fairbairn shows more uses.
Small pokey things are not very good, you have to be close.
A very powerful, blinding flashlight can reset attitudes in some ( not all) troublemakers.
If you want to get an attacker off another person, consider a plastic bag. Again it changes priorities very quickly.
Even carrying a sharp pencil ✏️ is frowned upon here in the uk 🇬🇧 won’t be long mike, before everything on that table is deemed a weapon and classified as dangerous and illegal to carry☹️lambs to the slaughter we are😨
English bill of rights 1688 begs to differ USA got there rights from us repealed illegally by the union 🏴👍
Allowed what a joke. Hairspray or an umbrella vs a knife. The old saying better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6 is as true as its always been.
I was 65 when I was attacked by a 37 year old man I defended myself with my bare hands, guess what I ended up with a police caution for assault, so the reality is you are on a loser with or without a weapon.
The corrupt police are the cause of much crime.
But you stay alive.
The way Britain is heading we should be allowed to carry a firearm
The problem with that line of thinking is that if you can carry a firearm then so could your attacker and he's likely to be pointing his gun at you while yours is still in your pocket.
@@petemulhearn7787 London, Liverpool, Manchester are already riddled with guns, it's that way of thinking that get innocent people killed!
Anything can be used as a weapon, but you gotta be proficient too. Always carry something to defend yourself since the police are minutes away and way too heavy to carry with you.
Seconds away and won't do FA when they do show up.
The usual is to ask them if they want to press charges
We have the worst Laws in the world ..... should be allowed to defend ourselves
Defending yourself is "racist".
We are allowed to defend ourselves.
It's just that any force used must be reasonable, justifiable, necessary and proportionate
@@geordiewishart1683 which means if someone is running after you with a machette, you need to face him unarmed like a man, and then turn around, try to get around the machette and do some jiu jitsu on him but make sure to release when he taps or else you face jail
Hi Mike, is a squirty tube of scotch bonnet pepper legal? whilst wearing a T-shirt that says “ better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6”
Pathetic you can’t legally carry something to defend yourself in the uk. Joke of a country these days.
Black skin gets you favourable treatment off the court
Fart spray can be effective and you can have some fun with it, especially if you meet Just Stop Oil people 😂
Lmao! I had a can of that when I was at school, oh the memories.
😂😂😂
We are in big trouble if an authoritarian government or foreign nation takes control. Citizens are literally denied the ability to defend themselves. What kind of society makes it illegal to carry self defense items?
Me: "What this? It's a novelty keyring, officer."
Police: "It's a war axe."
Me: "No, you can clearly see the key hanging off the bottom."
Hehe. I hope this gets many likes 😂
This is where you need a Fire and Rescue standard, sort of axe.
Carry a rounders bat in your car , but make sure you have so balls so you cannot get done for it
The short answer is no, if you carry anything....even an everyday item and you say to the "police" that you carry that as a weapon for self defense they are going to arrest you, the government position on the matter is that you should rather die by the hands of criminals then have the ability to effectively defend yourself. In their opinion you as a law abiding citizen being stabbed to death is ok but hurting or killing an aggressive violent criminal is not, the government is really concerned about the safety and wellbeing of CRIMINALS ( those who are alike, protect eachother) So following the same principle " get a Glock or anything you can use safely and is effective enough but don't carry it as a weapon but say that you are carrying it as extra weight in your pocket so the wind won't blow you away)...... (This was a joke) I seriously believe in justice, I advocate for law and order, I would never suggest anyone to break the law yet the truth is that if the country is taken over by criminals and they are the ones making the law, your duty as a righteous man is not to follow the nonsense but stand against. Stand for logic, for reason, for what is right, for human rights. One of the most basic human right is the right to defend yourself. Just my opinion.
Why do you have a bloodied brick in your purse?
I’m a builder.
Dont use a knife in a self defence situation. It wont hold up in court, youl be seen as equally culpible
And as soon as you use one of those things to defend yourself it becomes an offensive weapon
I’m a carpenter. If I know I’m finishing late and have to walk through a dodgy area I’ll have one of my tools on me. I forget what’s in my pockets you see.
i'm also a carpenter.
once worked with a bloke from devon who got nicked on his way home on a friday with a car boot full of tools for going equipped to commit burglary.
of course the courts threw it out but still he spent that weekend in custody.
the reason?
his local constabulary doesn't like him.
That hammer 🔨 may raise suspicion
Wrap the baseball bat in gift wrapping paper………. Officer it wasn’t a weapon it was a present for little Johnny
Good ideas. Might have to use them myself. Dad was a security guard and always carried a massive rubber torch with D cell bateries(pre 1980s). I said why do you need it if the offices you cover all have lighting all night and he said, who said anything about using it for lighting.... He was ex army so would have thought nothing about conking a burglar on the head with it.
I always carry a weapon for self defence. I would only ever use it or show it in a self defence situation. Yes I'm breaking the law but do you think an attacker would care about the law? I'm not likely to get stopped and searched so it's worth the risk. If I did get nicked I would lie and get out of it. Don't be a victim. The police are carrying weapons so why can't you?
Some years ago in the early 90s i was searched at an airport leaving Germany i was working there in counstruction, he pulled out of my bag a 9 inch bowie knife which i had been using for hunting while out there, i just said "its for work mate" when he looked further and saw a trowel a hammer some line pins and a tape measure he just put it back in the bag and waved me through....True story.
A newspaper rolled up and folded in half to form a hard edge on the fold is surprisingly effective, and its what I used to carry when in a 'new' area, I remember being told of a lady who used to carry a hammer in a carrier bag many years ago and got away with it because she always made sure 'she was on her way to drop it off to her friends to knock a nail in to hang a picture up' so when the cops checked with the friend her story fitted.
Law abiding people NO criminals YES
And the biggest criminal gang all wear black uniform with bright green vests at times. They are also heavily armed and wear gang symbols.. ohh wait sorry that's police... silly me.
I used to teach self defence. I'd feel obliged to warn people, especially women, that ANYTHING can be classed as a weapon by the police. So always be aware of what you have on you, and the various uses for them.
Hairspray, debit cards etc.
But ALWAYS use the line "I acted instinctively" when later questioned.
You may still face court action.
I use my zombie knife to peel my fruit, therefore I have a lawful reason to carry it.
Only the criminals can have guns and knives 🤔
I’m a keen fisherman and I often find I’ve left a solid brass Priest in my pocket. Silly me.
You cannot carry anything as a weapon . It's all about 'intention '.

Metal water bottle as a baton, torch with a strobe, gerber tactical pen, tactical gloves. All good
Considering everything that's going on in the UK right now, this is probably the most important video I'll see all year
It's a sad state of affairs when innocent people are not allowed to defend themselves. The police don't work for the people any more. We have been betrayed and abondoned by the very people who are supposed to protect us.
MPs make the laws, the police just enforce them. Local councils have a big say in policing priorities so if you think there's a problem with a law or the way its used write to your MP or local Councilor.
@@petemulhearn7787 I write to my MP often - it does no good.
By the very people you voted for.

When I was was an HR manager I used to issue a small but high power flashlight to all my staff (Yes, the men as well). Shone into the eyes of an assailant it will temporarily blind them so you can escape. At other times it's just a regular flashlight. The police would find it tough to prove any malicious intent.
Didn't help me. My attackers just laughed in my face. Don't reply on such things, same with hairspray - it just made my attackers smell nice and they laughed all the more.
A can of Deep Heat does the trick.
Man says cruel world. I say shit dangerous Britain and it's going to get worse.
I'm always equipped as my brain and training made me a lethal weapon. I do not play fair or nice. I would rather walk or run away from a fight but with no option I will go to inflict maximum damage to get away.
And then you woke up and it had all been a dream 😂
Croc dundee carries a can of beans for backup
😂😂
There's nothing you can carry as soon as you say ' self defense ' your going down.
You see, people in England, if they want to carry something in their bag, have to have a specific purpose for that item. They can't just carry anything they like as in a non-surveillance state
I guess the national rifle association would say if everybody carried a gun things like recent Moscow attack never had happened.
I guess that's because they are all mentally retarded.

Rolled tight the folded in half known as the Millwall brick
a can of soft drink in a plastic bag.also a folded up newspaper can be very useful.
Can is a great idea mate, and the tightly folded newspaper! i have heard of that loads of times, but never experimented with it, cheers for watching!
Folded newspaper is good for wasps as well.
Reminds me of that idea from icarly "A rock in a sock"
So self defense is not legitimate. Seems like some serious illness overcame your lawmakers. My heart goes out to you chaps. How does George Galloway stand on this ruling ?
Self defence is perfectly legitimate. Carrying a weapon is not. Claiming you carried a legal item for self defence can also be used to prosecute you.
@@andyrobertson7315 This is hypocrisy, my very legitimate question is, if you are attacked by a gang on the street and they are armed with knives and machetes how you are supposed to defend yourself??? Obviously you'll run if that's possible as no normal person will choose the fight... unless they are stupid, but the truth is that this kid of attacks happen in very short time not really giving you the time to think and analyse the situation also there may be situations when running isn't an option, what then? Well the "justice" system will tell you to call the police if you feel threatened.... you can imagine how this happens in a real scenario, so you walk home on a evening and when you take a corner you see three guys wearing facemasks and hoodies and they are coming towards you, you turn around straight away but you realise that there are another two of them who are approaching from behind, you can't run and you see one of them pulling a knife while another one is pulling up a machete from under his jacket so what now? Based on the law you should call the police, now that means that you have to politely and respectfully ask your attackers to just give you a minute to call the police while you are apologising for the wait and the inconvenience ( because you are a well mannered person, you don't want to unnecessarily waste anyone's time, right) so you ask them nicely to wait for you until you call the police. Let's say even if they are polite enough (which I seriously doubt) to give you some time and patiently wait until you finish your call, you still have to wait until the police arrive ( average waiting time 30 to 60 mine.) Basically that means that in the best case scenario you are robbed, or the worst case scenario you are stabbed and cut and you are bleeding out on the pavement and the arriving police will only find your dead body. It will be too late for you to complain to the government about the fact that their laws regarding self defense is wrong... As a human being one of the main and basic human right is the right for self defense and as criminals never ask for permission to arm themselves and are always prepared to carry out their crime, you as a free human being also have the right to arm your self with a weapon that is appropriate and comfortable for you and which you can use effectively and with confidence in a self defense situation regardless of the unreasonable and abusive laws which are denying that right. You are responsible for your own and your family's safety. I put this in a simple to understand principle. If the government says that it's illegal for you to live are you expected to respect the law and let yourself killed? Government has proven over and over that they are a criminal mafia style organisation and have no rightful authority to promote and enforce unreasonable and abusive laws. So it's your responsibility only if you choose to arm yourself..
The only free and right society is a society where citizens have the right to be legally armed and trained in the safe use of guns. A real and reasonable weapons ban is acceptable and makes sense only in a completely crimeless society. Only an oppressive government is afraid of legally armed citizens.
@@romyhezser7630well done you have just become an American defending the 2nd amendment....yes obviously in the scenario you describe at great length you have found yourself in a world of trouble. Also in an ideal world you would be able to carry something to protect yourself (actually in an ideal world we wouldn't be attacked but you get my point). MY point however was based purely on the legality of carrying anything that could either be classed as a weapon, or when questioned, the person carrying it said it was for self defence. I'm not getting into this BS about "free human being", we do NOT live in the perfect free country people seem to wish for. There will always be rules that, like it or not, apply to all of us. However if you want to go out carrying something for self defence, please feel free to do so, and let everyone know how the police react if you are caught
@@andyrobertson7315 Yes I do really agree that we have to respect some rules, a modern and evolved society cannot exist without rules but those rules have to be right and reasonable promoted and defended by a right and reasonable government who is doing their rightful job which is the administration of the country and the protection of their citizens, if that would be the case I would respect all the rules and would be happy to live in a free and right society. I'm not advocating lawlessness or anarchy but when the government is corrupt and looks more like a bunch of well organised criminals who shows total disrespect and ignorance towards their own citizens, who are more interested in changing the genders of children and allowing people with mental health issues to "teach" in schools ( I'm referring to trans people)...etc when a government act this way, it's a sign that they are completely corrupted and have lost all their authority, from that stage you are on your own, you can't expect them to defend you or your family. Regarding on what you said that "you are free to arm yourself and see how the police will react" ...I say this and just please think. What you would prefer being charged with the procurement of an illegal weapon and eventually go to prison for a while or you and your family be the victim of a violent crime in which either you or one or more of your family members are murdered, and before you say that you don't want either one which is perfectly normal, just think about how many have died in violent crimes stabbings, shootings, home invasions... every normal person hopes that something like that never happen yet what about those who died as victims in such crime? They didn't hoped for a peaceful life, did they wanted somehow to die??? I don't think so. While it's very nice to be optimistic and positive, being naive and ignorant it's definitely a mistake.
@@romyhezser7630. You are correct. Their answer is to hand over responsibility to an army of unqualified mini-tyrants, or just let you take a hit for the narrative. Legislating out human nature is unsustainable.

I think its absolutely ridiculous that the only people in the uk that are aloud to defend them selves and their families are police officers no matter what they use they just have to produce their police identity card and bingo all is good but if I try and protect my self or family they will do everything in their power to charge you its absolutely ridiculous we should all be allowed to protect ourselves and family we have seen it time and again people being charged for simply fighting back 🤯🤯

We can't have muggers harmed!
You can be Prosecuted for the Lock on a Chain, any Rope Chain or Cable with a Weight on it is Illegal in the UK, you are expected to carry the Lock separately, Anything you state is for Self Defence is Illegal, I had a discussion with 2 of Blackpools finest for carrying a Banana that I stated was for Self Defence, & I shit you Not, they called a Seargent to ask him, he was Not a happy chap.
Hair spray is always a good thing, whether you have a Lighter or Not, the Dog Repellent can Also be deemed Illegal depending on the officer attending, you Can carry a Bat, as long as you carry a Ball with it, & it is Currently Illegal to carry Anyfukingthing Sharp or Pointy in your car without Good Reason, the Reason being Good or Not, is at the Discretion of the officer attending, so is the Force you use.
The Current Law on Dangerous Weapons is quite ridiculous, it includes a great number of things that have NEVER been used in Any Crime in the UK, I cannon see how a Lock on a knife, a Safty Device, can make it More Dangerous than a knife without one, or even how it Opens makes it a Weapon, instead of a tool.
The Laws both Current & Pending are a Joke, they have cost a great many people's Livelihood, & they have taken NO weapons off the street, 95%+ knives used in crime are Kitchen knives, this has Not Changed, but what Has Changed is the amount of LAC's that have been arrested for carrying Weapons that were Tools they have been using for work for Decades, Almost Everyfukingthing the Police Farce have had Banned have hit LAC's much harder than criminals, & with what they are asking for Now will be even more Stupid, maybe they should arrest more of the people committing crimes of Violence instead of Banning Everyday Items that Everyday People use Ligitimately Everyday, but then that would take Valuable time out of Harassing Motorists & the Innocent & having them do the job they are Paid to do.
A large carrot can be used to poke an attacker's eye out.. It's one up on Monty Python's 'Defending against fruit' sketch ! lol

sometimes when you have sports injuries or aches and sprains etc, you might find you need to carry a pocket travel sized deep heat, or ralgex type pain relief skin warming spray in your pocket to apply to a sore arm, leg or shoulder from time to time, (as long as you do happen to have a legitimate ache somewhere) if a dangerous situation occured you might be forced to use that against an attacker, a good spray to the face would temporarily incapacitate an assailant giving you time to get away, that way you could tell police that you had no choice but to use it. A tightly rolled up paperback book can be used at a pinch, use the end to hit solidly into an attackers face like a hammer, a small solid hardback books corner could be used to strike an assailant too.

and a lighter in yer pocket too lol
@@OGGalleryCrew92two items that would be useful together very useful, but trust me the pain relief warning sprays deep heat especially will incapacitate if the wind changes direction and it goes in your eyes, so be careful.
Machate? the police never seem to arrest anyone carying one; just call them the victims of hate.
I blame Danmy Trejo personally
Awesome vid man, love the idea of some kind of walking stick / staff
Thanks mate, cheers for watching, yeah the walking sticks are great for this type of thing
Farb spray is a good example, tell the rozzers it’s only a criminal identification marker.
Italian Mastiff ,A Tactical Torch, and a metal pen go most places with me
Being British i just employ the Stiff upper lip😂
I had an encounter with an african "visitor" who screamed that I was looking at him. Luckily, the little creature wandered off angrily. Still, it made me consider my self defense options. Thanks for the tips mate. Appreciated.
if you were allowed to carry weapons in the uk the tory party would be wiped out
I carry a two foot power bar in my car.. its great for taking wheels off.. of course its two big to put beside the spare wheel in back, so it has to go down the side of my seat in the front 👍
if you have a cricket bat in the boot make sure you have a ball and stumps then they cant arrest you
It's ridiculous. This country is just absolutely ridiculous. If you're from a grown up country and you've managed to stop laughing, please let me know if it's just the UK that bans its citizens from defending themselves?
They took our weapons away so they can do exactly what they are doing to us now
It’s happened over a period of time by people aquiescing to increasing governmental dictatorial control.
In other words most people are wilfully ignorant cowards.

The reason for the sharp spike on the tactical pen is to break a window in case of a car or bus crash. Also remember John Wick killed three men with a pencil.
On the subject of body armour and the old chestnut of "do you really want to wear it everywhere all the time". Slash sleeves are brilliant, very quick to take on and off, can fit in a bag or jacket pocket, you can roll them up on your arm, or wear them all day without much issue. Sleeves are good because all of the hollywood knife disarms are fantasy, the military and police literally the world over all basically agree on the same thing, you disarm them by establishing a grapple and you take hits, mitigated hits and it's horrible but it's what you have to do if you have no choice. Forearms are what we use to protect ourselves whether it's blades, impacts or whatever else, instinctively it's our forearms.
Hi Coffee, great ideas, ill do a follow up in a few days with exactly this type of stuff, thanks for watching
In England we have a natural right to self defense that does not come from government. Under our bill of rights 1688 we have a right to bear arms for defence according to law (natural law that doesn't come from government). Our bill of rights 1688 was signed outside of parliament so that it could not be subverted through statutory interpretation and is in full effect on the legislation.gov website. The government's legislation on bearing arms is something we agreed to to keep the peace, however the government has broken that peace and has put us all in danger through open door immigration. We have a natural right to self defense in natural/common law and the government may not like that, but it is what it is.
That says that Protestants may OWN (not bear) arms for their defence, subject to limitations of law. So no unlicensed firearms, or prohibited weapons such as flick knives etc. That leaves a lot of basically medieval stuff. But only if you are a Protestant which I of course am.
In the context of where it was signed, outside of Parliament, which was done so that it could not be subverted by statutory interpretation, it is not referring to statutory law, it is referring to natural law which is encompassed in our common law, which is older than the state, dating back to the times of the druids. I repeat, our right to self defence does not come from government. @@simonh6371If you want to know the thinking of the 1688 bill of rights you can read a book by its author, John Sommers, which is entitled "the judgement of whole kingdoms and nations, concerning the rights power and prerogative of Kings, and the rights privileges and properties of the people". It was once considered essential for every household to own.
Amazing that carrying something with the sole purpose of potentially defending yourself and your family isn’t considered legitimate use of said item. I guess our lives are just worthless then…
Take a look at the rates of violent death by country and compare yours with that of the UK.
In London,i carry a plastic ruler, like the ones you use to use in school, white, bendy plastic, measuring ruler, bend it back, and smack it down on a muggers hand, quite effective, they drop your wallet straight away, and the great thing is you can't get arrested for carrying a piece of bendy plastic
You would get locked up for having sharp finger nails in UK your not allowed to protect yourself from someone trying to kill you
