I'm a cop in Malaysia and we use PX4 Storm as our gun .. awesome .. smooth operating had gun, with rotating barrel 👍👍👍
The PX4 Storm is one of the most underrated hidden gem of a pistol there is.
Chubby Catfish I bought it as my first pistol years ago at the dismay of the clerk and others who always ask wth is that. It is one of the flattest and comfortable pistols I’ve ever shot. I’m glad to see it finally getting the attention it deserves.
@@Mike-dm5ut My first handgun as well. Very few were available in Canada. Canada's border patrol have these. Love mine!
My first pistol i luv it reliable baretta
Chubby Catfish one at my local shop I’ve been looking at.
Bought mine 5 years ago ,very accurate, and reliable
My duty carry and EDC is a Px4 .40. Probably the single best handgun I've ever owned. 14+1 is nice and a caliber im very used to
I have several of these, and they are all great shooters. Very underrated pistol in my opinion. I think there’s a lot of people that don’t like how it looks. But I’ve never heard anyone who has shot one complain about how it performs.
How’s holster compatibility?... assuming you have various pistols. Thanks
Funny because it’s my favorite pistol aesthetically. People always say it’s ugly and I’m always confused. The only thing that would look better is if it had no slide-mounted decocker.
Same here, I'm not a fan of it's looks. Maybe they can make it a bit smaller kinda like a CZ Shadow. But yeah, the Px4 Storm is indeed a badass shooter, no complaints in the ergos, sights, grip or muzzle flip. I'd buy it but it doesn't do anything special my other pistols don't already do.
i love the way it looks. just got a compact carry model. love it.
Its ugly, but early on poor Quality Control was one of main problems with the Storm. Early ones had a lot of sharp edges, it rattled a lot, and the finish would wear off with a stern look. Hopefully Beretta fixed these, but its still an ugly pistol.
I've owned this gun for probably 6 months now and it's my new favorite gun. I've never had a pistol that fits my hand this well and shoots this smooth. Better than my glock, my xd, my Springfield, anything.
"Beretta is a very popular selling firearm company". Indeed and is also the OLDEST firearm maker in the world.
Love the PX4, better than APX imho.
Big up for Sootch as always.
Alessio Sem Correction...the oldest firearm maker in the world.
@@6Sally5 correction done sir.
Beretta is also the oldest family-owned business in the world.
Beretta Firearms...the oldest continuously operating business entity in history. And for good reason. From arming the papacy to the modern firearms [like my PX4 Type F in 9mm] we use today, it is just a magnificent product.
People call me crazy, but I think the PX4 is even better than the Beretta 92 as well. Some people call it ugly, but I love the sci fi look it has going on. I'm also more accurate and get better groupings with the PX4 as well. Just put better grips on it (I hate the smooth grip without any texture). I'm still hoping Beretta makes an all metal PX4 Storm.
Based mostly upon this video review, I just bought one and should have it out for it's first run in a day or five. Thank you for your reviews, and Sootch - you strike me as what all Americans should strive to be; honest, humble & honorable. 👍
Had a PX4 Storm in 45ACP years ago. Great gun and had a lot of my friends at the range questioning their 1911 choices.
Was it the standard 45 or the PX4 Carry upgraded by Langdon Tactical?
I was set on getting a 1911, but just didn’t like the feel of them. I picked up a PX4 and it just fit my hand perfectly.
I was set on getting a 1911, but just didn’t like the feel of them. I picked up a PX4 and it just fit my hand perfectly.
Just bought this compact model as my first firearm, and I'm in love. I'm now a happy gun owner, and I don't care about my cell phone anymore.
Just don't shoot your cell phone. As a target, it's way too expensive. ;)
I agree with you that the Px4 storm is a very underrated gun and it is a pleasure to shoot. But what I disagree with it being an odd looking gun . I think it is a beautiful, sexy gun and one of the main reasons I
brought it was because of how it looks
A lot better looking than the Glock.
I think the PX4 is hideous...Glock way better looking.
@@mizzoupatriot8814 Glock still pretty ugly bud
@@mizzoupatriot8814 I agree with sprofitt, I ended up buying the Px4 because of how it looks. I noticed it over the ugly block/square style of the Glock and asked the clerk what it was. They handed it to me and it fit my hand perfect. Bought it on the spot.
Agreed - Exactly why I bought it
Yeah you're definitely an outlier. Lol
I had a Storm a few years ago and I got rid of it. The slide is very stiff and the de-cocker ears are sharp. I always thought they would redesign the de-cocker, but they didn't. I get much better performance out of my Sig custom shop 1911 and CZ-75. I survived the Storm and I'll wait for better weather.
I cannot fathom why gun enthusiasts overlook this pistol! Originally I bought a PX-4 Compact because I was curious about the rotating barrel. I am really glad I made this purchase, from the ease and accuracy of shooting, to the simple take down and cleaning of the gun. It has truly become one of my favorite guns to take to the range.
I have been carrying the full size PX4 as my every day carry for the past 9 years. I love it. It comes apart easily, it's easy to clean, it shoots nice, durable AF, and shoots whatever quality ammo you put in it - even the crap stuff. I also have a CX4 rifle that uses the same magazines.
I've been wanting one of these for years, I finally bought one, since I live in California I had to wait 10 days, and I picked it up yesterday. I'm so happy, it's one of the best firearms I own. Absolutely love it! Great video Sootch! 👍💯
This was my very first handgun purchase, and it made me fall in love with guns. I then bought the subcompact version as well. Both are so smooth and easy to shoot.
I love these reviews. It's almost soothing, very laid back, factual, and enjoyable to watch and learn about a wide range of firearms. Thank you!
Here in S Africa, this is my carry firearm. Had a CZ 75 with over 20,000 rounds through it and replaced that fine handgun with this machine. Love it.
How much you bought that PX4 Storm here in RSA🇿🇦?
I also want to buy it as my second Firearm
@@ErnestB1 I paid about TZAR 8 for it a number of years ago and am not aware of the current cost. Good luck trying to get a second self defense pistol in S Africa, according to the authorities you are only allowed one.
@@russel2352yes Im aware Im only allowed to own 1 Firearm a self Defence, in RSA🇿🇦
I wil buy another one n register it under section 16
Section 16 allows you to own more than 3 Guns
@@ErnestB1 Good luck with that. "Section 16 - Dedicated hunting and/or sports-shooting: firearms for which application for licensing can be submitted in this category are any handgun, rifle, or shotgun (or a semi-automatic shotgun that cannot fire more than five shots in succession) (not fully automatic), or a semi-automatic rifle for sports-shooting". You will have to be a member of a practical shooting club. The Beretta Storm is not a popular practical shooting firearm. Like I say, good luck trying to get a license.
Just came across this channel and I like this guy. He is not only experienced but gives what seems to be non bias honest reviews. But most importantly he comes off very humble and level headed. I bought the sub-compact for my wife a few years ago as her first gun and a present for completing her NRA course and getting her CCP. She absolutely loved it and shot it well. We since sold off our home and all our possessions including all guns and ammo and began traveling the world. 3 years later we have a small condo in Florida and re-buying our arsenal and I'm still sold on that gun for her 😃
The Beretta PX4 compact carry is the best gun I own.
Man, I love your work. Straight to the point and your knowledge is great! No nonsense and the comparison of the Beretta PX4 and 92 is on point. Thank you
I personally love the way this gun looks. I ended up renting this all the time at my local range. Fell in love with and ended up buying the newer compact carry version. I'm happy to see this gun is gaining popularity because it's awesome!
I love my PX4 9mm. The ergonomics of it are fantastic! When you first pick it up it just feels right in your hands.
One of the things that bothered me was the safety/decocker levers. They stick out a mile and can be like cheese graters if your hand slips when racking the slide. I ground mine down on a belt sander, polished, and re blued
them. It made a huge difference for the better. This gun will be in my carry rotation for sure!
Great review! I always like watching your videos.
Great gun. The first thing to do, unless yours already comes so equipped, is to swap the decocker wings and the magazine release lever to low profile versions. Your hands will thank you. It's the best mod improvement I've ever done to any weapon.
I say talon grips and 92 style decocker. Do G conversion too when you swap levers).
Why? What changes?
I received one of these as a gift from my uncle , still have it to this day.
Semper fi
I used one of this in the firearms training in 2018. I still miss that PX4 Storm.
This was my first 40 S&W pistol. It was my son’s, and when he decided to sell of trade it, I was right there to keep it in the family. Until this video I didn’t even know it was available in 9mm. No matter...I already have a 92FS, and you know what a sweet shooter it is. I guess I need to take the PX4 out to the range soon.
I have a full size 40 px4 storm...Im a 9mm glock guy but goddamn that gun is easy and accurate to shoot....And cheap.
The subcompact doesn't have a rotating barrel. Just the full size and compact do.
I got the subcompact, it’s still really nice to shoot. My favorite pistol by far and I have a couple Glocks and a couple M&Ps
He said it did and also flashed it across the middle of the screen in big yellow letters ????
@@TheRealSwampOperator2He said it, but sadly it doesn’t. Just the full size and compact do.
** Own two of them. Fantastic pistol- very high quality- no failures in several thousand rounds- very underrated in the industry. Highly recommend the PX4.
I've had my full size in .45 since 2007. Hasn't missed a beat. Its just been super reliable and easy to shoot and clean. I will say that I switched it from a decocker safety to a decocker only. The trigger has more than enough slop to carry without a manual safety. If you are looking for a gun that you can upgrade with aftermarket stuff, this isnt the one. But if you are looking for a pistol that shoots well and never has malfunctions or mechanical failures this is the one.
Just put this on layaway at my local pawnshop. Brand new in the case with all the goodies from the factory. Your review helped me determine that this was the handgun for me!
Have one for 6 years. Had her at a range day with some friends and after my first mag, I handed her off and couldn't get her out of the hands of everyone else for the rest of the day! A couple of ex- military and LEO's who were really familiar with the 92's made offers to me for this one. No way!
You're awesome.
I bought a px4 storm 45acp less than 6 months i love the gun
Apparently, they're hard to find.
15 yrs ago, I bought one as my first handgun. Got the .40 version. Never regretted that decision.
nope love my px4 40cal. shoots so nice. i let lots of other shoot it who say 40 is snappy and the look on there face is worth the cost alone.
Chris, if you had to do it all over again, would you still recommend the Storm as a beginner’s pistol? Which type(F, G, etc.)? Am considering several full size 9mms. APX price is really attractive.
The first hand gun I ever bought as well .
Super sweet shooter even in the 40 cal. I bought a trade in for $199 at a gun show. Great value.
Nice review of an overlooked and underappreciated firearm. Picked up two from AIM when they had .40's in stock. It handles the hot cartridge with aplomb, and as in the video- it's accurate and 100% reliable.
Just bought a px4 storm and I'm falling in love with it.. very comfortable and easy to shoot
9mm compact was the first gun i started training with. Thousands of rounds later, its still a work horse. Also have .40. Easy to break down, clean, and carries very easily.
The Beretta PX4 Storm is my bedside gun. I keep it loaded with standard pressure 124 grain HST's in a 20 round magazine. I have owned it for about 4 years and it has shot everything I have fed it. I am very happy with it and am considering getting another in Inox.
Best review yet of this fine pistol. I have been shooting my new PX4 quite a bit, practicing the double to single action mode of firing. Great shooter, thanks for the excellent review!
Had my px4 storm in .45 for 11 years, i just replaced the recoil spring based on age and number of rounds. Never had any issues. You get alot of cool features for what you pay for. People say it's an ugly gun but I don't think so.
The PX4 Storm compact 9mm was my first (of many) gun purchases. I've thought about trading it in a few times. I pack it up in all its original packaging and tell myself "I'll shoot one more time before I trade it." Without fail I pack it back up and take it back home. It is a great shooting gun, 1000+ rounds zero issues and underrated in my book. If you can pick up a police trade for around $300 that's a good deal, I would recommend.
Many have gone over 150,000 rounds as per Beretta testing.. No parts needing replacement.
It worked out for me yesterday that this Beretta is underrated. I bought a 4" PX4 in 40. Cal LNIB for $350. Great video love the channel, keep them coming!
I was in the same boat. You give it a first look, and it seems....Weird. But then you pick it up and shoot it. It grows on you quickly. I then bought one. I looked into the history. It's designed by the same guy that designed the DeLorean. I grew to love mine, About a year later, I own 3.
thank you for this interesting video. The Px4 is also a very good .45 ACP pistol, with a lot less recoil than the other .45. And Beretta sells "match" pieces for this pistol (trigger, fire control unit, adjustable sights, and so on) which help turning it into an extremely agreeable and fun pistol.
Here in the United States, we have many excellent and well known firearms manufacturers. If however, we were to poll most other places in the world, without a doubt Beretta is the name you would hear. As you have stated in numerous other reviews you have done, the name Beretta is synonymous with excellence. As usual you did an outstanding review. Thanks for sharing.
Bought the Storm as my first 9mm pistol and have loved its capabilities. THEN I bought the Compact version and was totally wowed! THEN I got the CX4 Storm carbine as a companion, one of the best PCCs out there today. Few improvements are even desired, but if you want an even better trigger for the Storm, look up the Langdon trigger-job-in-a-bag. Makes my little compact run as smooth as butter.
I've had the PX4 Storm Type F in 45ACP since 2016. The best pistol I own and one of the best to shoot. Some don't like the SA/DA design but if it's your primary, you will get used to it. You can also buy the C or D variants. For a 45 it doesn't kick like one.
Same , 45 is excellent
I wish this gun had been around when my department switched from revolvers in 1988 to the Beretta 92FS. I like it better than the 92.
At least your Dept. switched to Beretta instead of Glock like most of the country. 👍
@@Uncle05Sam Agreed! 😁
Why do you like it better than the m9 / 92fs ?? Curious
Based on recoil ? Or trigger ?? Or looks ? Accuracy ?
@@cayman9873 Just 'cuz, TBH. I didn't, and don't, offer any pretend, internet type sage reasons.
I like it better.
Hugely underrated pistol! My favorite, I carry this everyday!
Have the px4 storm in .45, One very accurate little firearm. CCW it on occasion and do like the feel of it. Almost sold it, but remembered the accuracy of 25yds and cutting the bullseye out. Glad I kept it.
I have 2 of the full size and each has many thousands of reliable rounds through them including IDPA, USPSA matches. I also carry a SC model, while no rotating barrel it's a great shooter.
my first pistol, and a dozen buys later of all brands, still my favorite.. never give it up
You still cycling buddy? Staying away from 11m rig nightmares I hope! - lol
Great video. I own a px4. Love it! Everyone that shoots it loves it. I agree: very underrated.
1st "composite" in this house. Got subcompact for Daughter & she had to ask for it back. Feels like nothing ive held prior & extremely Beretta reliable. Nice showing, Sir. !
I think it's a beautiful looking gun. I have one. 987 rounds through it and 0 problems. The company has been around since 1524. Oldest continuing fire arm company on the planet. Yep I trust them. Every pistol I own for the last 30 years is a Beretta. Thanks for your knowledge and honesty.👍🇺🇸
I don't know what it is, but this is the easiest centerfire handgun I've ever shot.
Double action or single action, I have no trouble getting accurate hits. Real soft recoil.
Things I don't like: Almost impossible to find a G (decocker) variant, the safety lever is a little stabby, real hard to find a holster just sitting on the shelf. Yes, a lot of this is addressed with the LTT Carry version. Yes, Beretta sells what I need.
I'm very happy with mine.
I love my Berretta PX4 Storm. It is a pleasure to shoot. Super accurate. Definitely get one for your collection.
Carried a PX4c in 9mm (the best model in the best caliber) as an outside pocket carry for a decade. What replaced it was a Springfield Hellcat which now fits in more places than the PX4c does, and has the same capacity with its XXL magazine. I just wish beretta would do a 1.5 stack.
I always enjoy your reviews. I just might have to get one of these. You are one of my favorite firearm reviewers
Underrated firearm imo
I bought my Px4 five years ago and it hasn’t disappointed. If I remember correctly it was about the time I bought a Glock. Which is a great gun in its own right. Love them as well but my Berretta is my EDC and has been since I got it. Thanks for the video
Beretta PX4 the first gun I bought ......LOVE IT! And you Sir do a fine job on these videos.
As a current owner of the .40 Full Size Inox, I approve. I daily and duty carry, and love it. Just got a Falco lightbearing CCW holster ordered up for it, and I can't wait to try it out.
I absolutely love these pistols. Wish I'd never sold mine
Just got one last week used from a gun shop it's the compact model. It came with 19 mags. Looking to convert mine to the G model like yours. Very excited to get this handgun!
Your review always super detail and on point. Thank you so much
It's been my favotite pistol since the old G.R.A.W games.
Finally got one in 2017.
I was not disappointed.
I love my PX4 Compact. It’s currently my EDC gun.
Full size versions typically sell new in the Orlando market, at either firearms or sporting goods retailers, for $499. The compacts run around $479. The MSRP on these pistols is in the $600's and I don't know anyplace that actually charges the MSRP. Very affordable.
Excellent review and video! I've often thought about getting one of these.
Just never was able to get a good deal on one.
I have to say the first couple of times I saw one of these I thought they were ugly but the more I looked at it the more it kind of looked like a well designed sports car that looks fast standing still. I wanted a soft shooter for newbies to shoot so I bought one it is now one of my favorite handguns to shoot.
I keep saying that the first company to combine a rotating barrel along with a slide that rides in the frame like a CZ will have created the best pistol ever. Give it a short reset trigger and it will be damn near perfect.
Check out Langdon Tactical's version of it. It's a BEAST!!!
I'm your huckleberry military.wikia.org/wiki/Grand_Power_K100
I love mine!!! I have the 9mm compact. I love the look. It’s the Italian sports car of pistols! I had the f model but did a easy change out and converted it to the g model(decock only) didn’t like the safety. My trigger has no take up in mine. Very crisp. Overall, my everyday carry. I never worry if it will go bang or not!
I bought one about 2 months augo.ive put 300 rnds thru it.not 1 malfunction.and i have to say.this side arm is super smooth! I did have to tinker with it a couple times to get the barrel back in correct after takedown but once i figured it out it was easy.i actuly can say i love mine.watching this video makes me want to break it out & put some lead down range!
ahhh Beretttas!! Nice Video, I C.C. this gun and I own the whole storm collection, easy to clean - easy to shoot carry etc.. Thanks for sharing this video!
Love this handgun! Great review!
Thanks Brother!
@@sootch00 Hey Sootch, do you recall what brand/style of 5 rounds ammo you fired into the bulls-eye?
I have owned a Px4 for over 9 years. Have run about 20,000 rounds through it and have NEVER had a misfire, stovepipe, or jam. Simply put, it is the best shooting handgun I own. Love to go to competitions and embarrass the guys with the Wilson Combats and Kimbers with my "Robocop" gun.
*Sootch00* Very cool, thanks for taking the time to show us the *Baretta PX4* God Bless brother.
Thanks Kevin! It's a sweet shooting pistol!
God Bless you and yours.... please stay healthy!
The compact PX4 Storm was my first carry gun. Loved that gun.
Px4 Compact is to this day, the closest thing to perfect out of the box of any 9mm I’ve ever fired.
Great gun for cold weather- extended controls are perfect for gloves.
Scotch,God bless you and your family, bin a member of your channel for a long timer
I bought both the PX4 Storm and the Compact version (also with the rotating barrel) when they first came on the market (a long time ago!). I converted them both to decocker only (takes 10 minutes) and they have been great guns. The full length is the most accurate gun I have ever had with a 4" barrel. I have bought, sold, and traded a whole bunch of guns since, but I have kept the PX4s!!!. BTW, I also still have a Ruger P95DC (for decocker) and a P97DC. They made some great guns 15-25 years ago.
I wouldn't call it ugly, but perhaps unique. Several thousand rounds, no issues. With that fixed bore axis rotating barrel, rise is noticeably less and followup target acquisition fast. The only problem I have with it is, it goes through too much ammunition in a small amount of time... LOL!
Many thanks for the very informative videos.
Keep up the good work.
I've always thought the gun was very attractive. It looks different than everything else, which I like. As always a great review.
Great little gun. The full size has that rotary barrel and I love it because its so easy to control recoil.
I got to shoot one of these at a gun range for my birthday a few years ago, it was one of the best birthday presents I've ever had, the rotating barrel makes a big difference, at least to me, and it is super cool and tons of fun to shoot
I remember wanting one of these when i was first getting interested in guns. I always thought it looked kind of weird, which is why I liked it. Still never got one, maybe i should.
I owned the compact version and loved it. I thought it looked great from the get-go. I'm always surprised when I hear it's considered ugly because I thought it was great. Different, sure.
The compact model looks good. The Subcompact is the one I'm referring too but beauty is in the eyes of the beholder : )
@@sootch00Right, that's a good point! The subcompact is a bit....homely!
It looks like a hi-point.

I have a PX4 in .40.. love it. I have a matching CX4 Carbine. What looks really good to me is the "Compact carry" model, slicked up compact model.
I never shot one of these until my sister bought one and now I want one it’s a sweet shooting gun
Still one of my favourite pistols, in all configurations.
Thank you, I have two, run like clocks, soaks up .40 recoil, super underated.
I have one in 45 acp and I love it. It is one of my favorite carry firearms.
This was my first handgun in 40 S&W and I still have it.
Thanks for the review. I bought one about 2 months ago. I put through about 100-120 rounds so far. It's a lovely handgun. Very solid and ergonomically quite pleasing to hold it. However, one thing I noticed is that it gets scratches and chips very easily. I understand it's a handgun and it shoots, so it's all expected. Nonetheless, my other handguns (Glock 45, M&P Shield 45 or even wife's S&W 642) don't have that many wear and tear signs even though we had those pistols a lot longer than our Beretta. Thus, I wonder if it's a normal behavior or is there something wrong with my firearm? Watching your video I see that your Beretta has gotten a lot of those similar scratch and chip marks as mine but yours is a Police trade in and probably has been used a lot. Whereas mine has only fired about 100-120 rounds so far. I also noticed that finish on Beretta is different than my other handguns. It feels very smooth and kind of even shiny which makes it easy to get scratched too, I guess. Anyway, does anyone think it's normal or should I need to contact Beretta and have it checked? Thanks.
P.S.
I haven't had a single malfunction with my Beretta. It's a pleasure to shoot from it.
I love that fact that the magazine also fits the Storm carbine.
Yes, just wish the PX4 barrel could be threaded like the CX4 can. Then it would be the total package!
Chris Stump you can buy the threaded separate at Beretta. Com..
@@alfonsorj70 Hi, you show me where and I'll buy one for each of us!
Chris Stump Hello ,if you would go to the Beretta web site ..they have the threaded barrel that will fit the PX4 Storm, full size ,compact and subcompact also...Plus they have a big sale going on right now...hope that information helped you out...take care..
@@alfonsorj70 Welp, this has been fun. I'm not super familiar with how these UA-cam channels work, so can't tell if you're trolling me or what. FYI for anyone following: I called Beretta today, and they do not make any of the barrels the gentleman mentions.

An underappreciated cool pistol to be sure. Great review as always.
