Valkyrie sounded more aggressive and intense from the outside, but considering Top Gear’s sound engineering track record, maybe I’m not picking up more details. Definitely the nicer car to be in, since the engine isn’t bonded with the chassi and you don’t need a sound-proofing helmet.
I've seen some post on social media platforms where a large number of people claim the car sounds horrible. I've just come to realize these kids of today affiliate a "good sounding" car to one that burbles, pops and crackles. Glad I grew up in an age where we knew what a highly tuned engine should sound like. If I want to hear burbles, pops and crackles I'll get a bowl of Rice Krispies.

Vids never do the sound justice, the final sign off drive Dario does gives a much better idea of the sound ... or the computer I watched it on has better sound. MOTOGP bikes sound nothing like they do on videos
Cobra 427 with side pipes for the V8, LFA for the V10 and the T.50 for V12. I have watched the start of this video about 30 times and each time I get chills from that musical instrument of an engine. Even the pre-start before it fires. Wow !! What a masterpiece !!
This is pretty much the McLaren F1 version 2. Incredible. All the flaws repaired, and some new magic in there. Gordon Murray is the real deal. Just the sound of this thing is mind blowing

This could be the best car in the world, but I doubt it will ever go beyond "that other car that the guy that designed the McLaren F1 made." Maybe I'm way off, but I'd wager that 20 years from now people will still be talking about the McLaren F1 and this will just be another Tucker 48.
The best sounding supercar I have ever heard. The pulls from outside the car gave me instant goosebumps. If it sounds this good through audio equipment, I cannot imagine how good it sounds standing there in person!
The Speedtail has 3 seats but other than that there's nothing in common with the Mclaren F1 or T50. 3 men cannot sit in it. Too narrow. McLaren went overboard on the exotic materials tech, and I am told the ride is the best of any supercar ever, but come on, T50 is smaller but has way more space.
The Speedtail has nothing to do with the F1. Completely different concept. Apart from the driving position. This T55 is the successor of the F1. Gordon said it himself during the first press launch. Improved as much as possible and the philosophy is identical.
I'm glad NA engines like this are still being made. The new Vette, this, some of the Lexuses, Pagani and few other new cars have NA magic anymore. There's nothing like a fast NA vehicle, the sound, the experience, the emotion you don't get with other engines.
Dario is an amazing driver and guy, he used to live next to my gran, him and his brother used to always have a nice 355 spider and 911 and be out maintaining them every wknd, great to see the passion this family has with cars! 🙌
The gear changes seemed to take a long time to me. Do we know what the transmission is? It looked like he was moving a gear lever which seems a bit old school for a car of this level.

Since forever, V12 Lambo's have been my favourite supercars for the engine noise. This T.50 has absolutely blown every single one of them out of the water. What a special, special machine. 12k RPM is a noise I will never forget
My daily driver is a Porsche Cayman 987 and I fully understand how having that small footprint, low weight, and incredible driver interaction with the road is more important than just printed numbers. The enjoyment, theatrics, and comfort are things you just cant put a metric on when looking at performance data. Fantastic job Gordon!

I have a Honda City from 2008. It is a super comfy driver's delight. And at only 1695 mm wide, still packing 530 L of luggage space and superb seats, you imagine how practical it is.

In 2043 for the "second golden age" of sports cars, the minimum will be the T50, F1, Carrera GT, & F40. Park those four in your garage at a minimum and you are a world-class collector.
Being old now I remember very very well tiff driving the F1 and I can even remember him saying this before he took it on track " and what all owners of this F1 will want to do is give it some stick " and he just floors it ...that noise I can still hear now . Amazing work again with this 👏
Oh Man, what a sound. When I heard it first time, it was like listening to the sound of a Lexus LFA and that is one of the best sounding cars of all time.

It's the engineering that's so impressive. Just enough essential parts - no waste. When you open up a car like this, and all the bits on the inside look just as good as all the bits on the outside, you know you're looking at something special. Every part is a marvellous piece of automotive art. Looking forward to seeing these guys react to actually driving it.

Ollie's genuine reactions at the start of the video says it all... I have not lusted after a new car in the last 25 years more than this and T.33.... absolute masterpieces.
The car was crazy quick. When Dario hit 11500 in 5th he was already going 285 kmph and the redline is at 300 kmph. This is in around 17 sec with no launch, manual shifts and the weight of 2 extra passengers.
Gordon is a visionary. This is one of the best supercars that have come out in the recent years. Also, I envy the house-fly that has hitch-hiked on this ride.
Early on, there were some doubts about the looks, but the more I see of it, the more beautiful it gets. Their coffee cups obscured the side view but the swoopy lines are magnificent.
This is hands down the best sounding production car made today, nothing else comes close. Plus there's the bonus of knowing it sounds good because it IS good, not because it just trying to be "cool".

It’s something that no EV super car can ever replicate. Car heaven - mid engine NASP manual - just a drop top is missing for me for perfection. What a sound and what a thrill to go to 12000 rpm. I thought my Ferrari manual almost to 9000 redline was incredible- can’t imagine 12000. But this video allows us to live vicariously through Dario. Tip of the hat to Gordon Murray. Amazing.
I'm a guy who goes for looks every single time. But to my predilections this and the LFA alone stand as an exception. LFA because of its sound, this because of its sound and the sheer bravery of Gordon to give every petrolhead everything they may have wanted. My favorite car is the McLaren F1 and it may never change. I think GMA will give us many more surprises for years to come.

There's super cars with bigger engines. But they're horrible to drive in the real world. Too wide. Too low. Too hard. The T50 does it all.

Hell, if you want straight line speed, you can buy a mass-produced four-door family EV that will out-accelerate any road car with an engine. But the T.50 is the pinnacle for those of us who care more about having a daily-driveable car that puts a massive grin on their face. It's not about performance, it's about driver enjoyment. It's not for everyone. For me? There are few combustion-engined cars that excite me at this point. Money no object, the T.50 is the one I'd have in my garage, alongside something more boring for the more tedious day-to-day.

If your argument is that it does it all I would argue there are Porsches on sale today that do the whole performance,driver engagement and daily driver thing extremely well at a lower price point Value for money this car isn't it.I can name Lamborghinis,Ferraris and Porsches that offer more performance for less money.They probably don't offer driver enjoyment being that they DCTs but you do find manual Porsches which can offer that enjoyment this car is overpriced and overhyped.

How pathetic the other manufacturers look next to this vehicle. Who is supposed to get close to it? The only one that comes close is Porsche: a lot of programme for a relatively SMALL penny - in relation to this work of art. To all other enthusiasts: what does your favourite manufacturer deliver? A gearstick lever like this? A seat like this? Or just red toggle switches and 22 dials on the steering wheel? Why does this car get by with so little - and thin? And, what makes it all the crazier: how close is the car to the first example! Gordon Murray has put a car on his own wheels for at least the third time, something you usually only see in studies that can never be bought. An absolute work of art. In my opinion, it belongs in the MOMA as a motorised one next to the Italjet Pack 2 ;) I will tell Mr Murray personally, I promise....

I love Gordon for his desire to make supercars useable. I read an article on the F1 many years ago by a journalist who used it to go to Tesco because it was so easy to drive. The F50 clearly continues that everyday characteristic and encourages people to drive it for pootling about, although at my age getting in it would be more than challenging. What I really liked was Dario's (a fellow Jock) evident concentration on the road, helped by being in front of his nattering passengers. I don't talk when I drive beyond monosyllabic grunts to the wife to stop telling me what to do. But what really made me laugh were the tyres. Buy a £3m car and worry about the cost of the tyres. It's wonderful, but completely bizarre.
I think the interior design/seat placement are really underrated here, to fit 3 seats in a hypercar that's already super stripped down to barebones essentials is really impressive.
Phenomenal.... What Gordon Murray can do with a car is unreal. His record speaks for itself, a true design icon .... This car with the help of his team and Dario (legend) is truly something to behold. Anyone that says this car doesn't sound good has to go have their hearing checked, it sounds incredible. To get an engine designed for a road car to rev to 12k is unheard of. I just wish I had the money to afford one of these or the T33.

Electric cars like Teslas etc are wicked fast from a standing start but race one with a rolling start from 80mph -150mph and they fall flat on their faces.
Looks are always subjective but I agree with you. Like the F1, it's a functional car, not a beautiful one. That fits with GM's philosophy so it's fine. But in my opinion, they've sacrificed the proportions to create decent-sized luggage pods. To my eyes, the back wheels look too far back. The car looks chubby, not taut, around the haunches.

What an engineering masterpiece. 12k RPM and manual transmission is just insane. Their faces were pure shock, Gordon Murray out did the F1 which means he did the impossible. Again.
When Dario hit 11500 in 5th he was going past 290 kmph as per the gearing. That was in 17 sec with no launch, manual shifts and 2 passengers to add weight. I don't know if he used Vmax mode, which adds another 50 HP for 2 min from the ISG. This is hypercar quick, it's faster than the Holy Trinity. Maybe balls out with no passengers it may outrun a 765 LT, which is faster than a P1.
For me, it's the one road car that comes closest to an F1 car of the good old days 😵😍 Incredible! You have to get this car to the tunnel run! Please!!! 🙏🙏
LFA is all exhaust, not intake. The exhaust sound is tuned by stacking 3 pipes next to each other among other things, so that it multiplies the engine frequency. So the top harmonic is amplified way more than the other notes, giving that V10 yowl even though it only revs to half as much as an F1 car.
At 70-75 kg each, they might add 220 kg so yeah, almost 25%. The T50 still hit 290 kmph in 5th at 11500 on the first run. 17 sec with no launch, and manual shifts.
I watched an earlier feature while the car was under development. My takeaway: If you thought Pagani had an attitude you haven't met Murray. After watching this video I could at least identify one authentic feature: skinny jeans - the uniform of submission to current days global turmoil since C-19. The signature of St.Johns Wood and Camden residents.

This was a hyped up car that didn't think would deliver but boy I was so wrong!! Love it and definitely will go down as one of the greats. Love it's size, how agile it is, practically and beautiful but doesnt scream 'look at me'. Also the fact it's civilized at any speed, 3 seats it's a wonderful successor to the F1. I'm Just waiting for the Tesla boys to come in and say a Plaid is faster 😂...just need Chris Harris to review!
I was lucky to see this car on an English motorway about a month ago while taking the bus from school. I was so confused when I saw it because I had never really seen anything like it. However, a few google searches later and I found out just how lucky I was to see one of these! Fantastic car!
That engine sounds so crisp.. Edit: As a person obsessed with symmetry, I so get this. Whenever I'm driving I feel like I'm in the Millennium Falcon, and not in the fun way.
That whining noise from the engine, it's because it used geared timing instead of belt. That's why it sounds so unique while idle, just like the valkyrie. Reminds me of a jet engine
Without that it couldn't get to 12100 revs. But man when driven docilely it's quiet in the cabin. Valkyrie was 120db something, the whole cabin was just a loudspeaker for the engine and gearbox. Would you believe the shrink wrapped Valkyrie with not 1 mm of space or 1 microgram to spare, is 11.5 cm wider and 15 cm longer than this? The T50 is only 10 cm wider than a Honda City.

I do love the Aston Martin Valkyrie, but the GMA T50's triple-seat arrangement definitely takes my cake. Gordon Murray really never disappoints.

It's the engineering that's so impressive. Just enough essential parts - no waste. When you open up a car like this, and all the bits on the inside look just as good as all the bits on the outside, you know you're looking at something special. Every part is a marvellous piece of automotive art. Looking forward to seeing these guys react to actually driving it.

Ollie's genuine reactions at the start of the video says it all... I have not lusted after a new car in the last 25 years more than this and T.33.... absolute masterpieces.
The car was crazy quick. When Dario hit 11500 in 5th he was already going 285 kmph and the redline is at 300 kmph. This is in around 17 sec with no launch, manual shifts and the weight of 2 extra passengers.
Gordon is a visionary. This is one of the best supercars that have come out in the recent years. Also, I envy the house-fly that has hitch-hiked on this ride.
Damn that car has the power to rollback time, that noise is it early 1990s again in F1 my goodness.
Ferrari F1 1999 F1 car also has nice sound like this GMA T50.
Early on, there were some doubts about the looks, but the more I see of it, the more beautiful it gets. Their coffee cups obscured the side view but the swoopy lines are magnificent.
The first 30 seconds actually gave me whole body goosebumps. What a thing!
This is hands down the best sounding production car made today, nothing else comes close. Plus there's the bonus of knowing it sounds good because it IS good, not because it just trying to be "cool".

It’s something that no EV super car can ever replicate. Car heaven - mid engine NASP manual - just a drop top is missing for me for perfection. What a sound and what a thrill to go to 12000 rpm. I thought my Ferrari manual almost to 9000 redline was incredible- can’t imagine 12000. But this video allows us to live vicariously through Dario. Tip of the hat to Gordon Murray. Amazing.

I'm a guy who goes for looks every single time. But to my predilections this and the LFA alone stand as an exception.
LFA because of its sound, this because of its sound and the sheer bravery of Gordon to give every petrolhead everything they may have wanted.
My favorite car is the McLaren F1 and it may never change. I think GMA will give us many more surprises for years to come.
People say all the time “omg this car sounds like an F1 car!” (Aventador, Pagani Zonda etc etc) this car LITERALLY sounds like an old F1 car

@@KevindusT360 Mr. Mthembu, I don't think you get it. You can buy faster. There's plenty of drag strip cars that'll do a quarter mile in less than seven seconds. But that's all they do. There's super cars with bigger engines. But they're horrible to drive in the real world. Too wide. Too low. Too hard. The T50 does it all.
@@KevindusT360 There are far faster track cars, that are horrible to use on the public road. There are outrageous shouty supercars, for people who care about what passers-by think. Hell, if you want straight line speed, you can buy a mass-produced four-door family EV that will out-accelerate any road car with an engine.
But the T.50 is the pinnacle for those of us who care more about having a daily-driveable car that puts a massive grin on their face. It's not about performance, it's about driver enjoyment.
It's not for everyone. For me? There are few combustion-engined cars that excite me at this point. Money no object, the T.50 is the one I'd have in my garage, alongside something more boring for the more tedious day-to-day.

If your argument is that it does it all I would argue there are Porsches on sale today that do the whole performance,driver engagement and daily driver thing extremely well at a lower price point
Value for money this car isn't it.I can name Lamborghinis,Ferraris and Porsches that offer more performance for less money.They probably don't offer driver enjoyment being that they DCTs but you do find manual Porsches which can offer that enjoyment this car is overpriced and overhyped.

How pathetic the other manufacturers look next to this vehicle. Who is supposed to get close to it? The only one that comes close is Porsche: a lot of programme for a relatively SMALL penny - in relation to this work of art. To all other enthusiasts: what does your favourite manufacturer deliver? A gearstick lever like this? A seat like this? Or just red toggle switches and 22 dials on the steering wheel? Why does this car get by with so little - and thin? And, what makes it all the crazier: how close is the car to the first example! Gordon Murray has put a car on his own wheels for at least the third time, something you usually only see in studies that can never be bought. An absolute work of art. In my opinion, it belongs in the MOMA as a motorised one next to the Italjet Pack 2 ;)

I love Gordon for his desire to make supercars useable. I read an article on the F1 many years ago by a journalist who used it to go to Tesco because it was so easy to drive.
The F50 clearly continues that everyday characteristic and encourages people to drive it for pootling about, although at my age getting in it would be more than challenging.
What I really liked was Dario's (a fellow Jock) evident concentration on the road, helped by being in front of his nattering passengers. I don't talk when I drive beyond monosyllabic grunts to the wife to stop telling me what to do.
But what really made me laugh were the tyres. Buy a £3m car and worry about the cost of the tyres. It's wonderful, but completely bizarre.
Seeing this at Goodwood last year was absolutely magical, no other way to describe it...

I think the interior design/seat placement are really underrated here, to fit 3 seats in a hypercar that's already super stripped down to barebones essentials is really impressive.

Phenomenal.... What Gordon Murray can do with a car is unreal. His record speaks for itself, a true design icon .... This car with the help of his team and Dario (legend) is truly something to behold. Anyone that says this car doesn't sound good has to go have their hearing checked, it sounds incredible. To get an engine designed for a road car to rev to 12k is unheard of. I just wish I had the money to afford one of these or the T33.
That v12 took me back to the era of the greatest supercars... absolutely EPIC

Electric cars like Teslas etc are wicked fast from a standing start but race one with a rolling start from 80mph -150mph and they fall flat on their faces.

Looks are always subjective but I agree with you. Like the F1, it's a functional car, not a beautiful one. That fits with GM's philosophy so it's fine. But in my opinion, they've sacrificed the proportions to create decent-sized luggage pods. To my eyes, the back wheels look too far back. The car looks chubby, not taut, around the haunches.

What an engineering masterpiece. 12k RPM and manual transmission is just insane. Their faces were pure shock, Gordon Murray out did the F1 which means he did the impossible. Again.

I don't know if he used Vmax mode, which adds another 50 HP for 2 min from the ISG. This is hypercar quick, it's faster than the Holy Trinity. To all intents and purposes that sounds like an proper '70s/'80s era F1 car. The reactions and faces of the guys is all you need to know. Amazing.

LFA is all exhaust, not intake. The exhaust sound is tuned by stacking 3 pipes next to each other among other things, so that it multiplies the engine frequency. So the top harmonic is amplified way more than the other notes, giving that V10 yowl even though it only revs to half as much as an F1 car.
@@srinitaaigaura Yamaha helped design the intake for the LFA and made pipes to help it resonate into the cabin. So yeah, it's not all exhaust
Those 3 guys weigh about 1/4 of the weight of the car. That is probably the most incredible thing about it.
At 70-75 kg each, they might add 220 kg so yeah, almost 25%. The T50 still hit 290 kmph in 5th at 11500 on the first run. 17 sec with no launch, and manual shifts.
I watched an earlier feature while the car was under development. My takeaway: If you thought Pagani had an attitude you haven't met Murray.
After watching this video I could at least identify one authentic feature: skinny jeans - the uniform of submission to current days global turmoil since C-19.

This was a hyped up car that didn't think would deliver but boy I was so wrong!! Love it and definitely will go down as one of the greats. Love it's size, how agile it is, practically and beautiful but doesnt scream 'look at me'. Also the fact it's civilized at any speed, 3 seats it's a wonderful successor to the F1. I'm Just waiting for the Tesla boys to come in and say a Plaid is faster 😂...just need Chris Harris to review!

I was lucky to see this car on an English motorway about a month ago while taking the bus from school. I was so confused when I saw it because I had never really seen anything like it. However, a few google searches later and I found out just how lucky I was to see one of these! Fantastic car!

That whining noise from the engine, it's because it used geared timing instead of belt. That's why it sounds so unique while idle, just like the valkyrie. Reminds me of a jet engine
Without that it couldn't get to 12100 revs. But man when driven docilely it's quiet in the cabin. Valkyrie was 120db something, the whole cabin was just a loudspeaker for the engine and gearbox. Would you believe the shrink wrapped Valkyrie with not 1 mm of space or 1 microgram to spare, is 11.5 cm wider and 15 cm longer than this? The T50 is only 10 cm wider than a Honda City.
