Space 1999 Eagle NEW KIT - 1:72 scale from MPC/Round 2 MPC-913

Unboxing and quick review of the Space 1999 Eagle. Round 2 has produced an all new, accurate Eagle from Space 1999. This 1:72 scale kit is approximately 14 inches long. This is a new tooling, and a major improvement over the original kit.

Vwey cool. I like the decals for the lighted cockpit windows with the actual actors by the look of it. Nice detailing on the kit too. I was very pleased with the earlier Hawk kit. Great fun building that.

The beauty of this kit is that it is in scale to the Mark IX Hawk kit that came out earlier this year.

Wow! Glad to hear it’s detailed like the 22” version & you can tell by the MANY sprues of parts!!! I have mine on order at the LHS. Like you, I had to have something to model on during the Thanksgiving break & since the Eagle wasn’t available I bought a battlestar galactica mark 2 Viper to get me by until this beauty comes in. Some ppl have Turkey for Thanks Giving, but Alphans have Eagles. Thanks to Round2 models for coming out with both 1/72 and 1/48 scale and much more accurate Space 1999 Eagles.

-My new Eagle came in at the hobby shop & I got it today. The box was heavy for a model=many parts for a very detailed model. Now I need to get my spray booth & airbrush/compressor.

Looking at the decals, I saw 2 sets for the cockpit windows. One set looks upside down in orientation when seeing the pilots faces.

Nice review- I noticed that you will need to make a choice as to what landing struts you are going to use. The directions showed a shorter and longer strut based on if you are going to display this with the stand or not. One of the things I hated about the old MPC model is that it looked too squat to the ground so I made longer styrene struts when I had modified it with Jim Small's parts.
