Round 2 should send you a test shot of all of their models - just so you can find what was missed or wrong in the instructions. Their products would be much better for us noobs out here. Always appreciate your attention to the details.
Was concerned at first you didn't mention any Thanksgiving plans but relieved to hear you were headed to your sister's shortly Very entertaining thank you
I just love watching your videos. I really should like everyone of them as I honestly watch each one at least 4 or five times. So relaxing and interesting. Keep it up!
Another great video. I have learned so much from you! My building is improving with every kit! As soon as I find a mask set for the 1/350 K’Tinga, It will be my next build. You are an inspiration!
A new tradition! The Rescue Pod on every Thanksgiving Day model! Sounds good. Neat build-- not so much a fan. So I can resist expending monies for this best in scale Eagle. But good seeing you throw this together in one week! And sling a lot of turkey and stuffing too! This year-- at long last -- I finally did not eat too much. Much better.
Hi Lou, recently discovered your channel and am enjoying your videos very much! I'm a model railroader primarily but have been building Sci-Fi and fantasy kits since I was a kid, so your advice and techniques in your videos are really helpful.
Thank you for a very informative video. I ordered this kit a couple of days ago and now I've ordered a set of your masks. I hope mine turns out as nice as yours.
Looks like a lovely kit and the detail is superb. I notice that Round 2 are like Bandai in capturing the details from the parts that have obviously been kitbashed when they made the studio models back in the 70's. The part you hold up and zoom in on at 9.08 is pretty clearly the engine deck of a Tamiya Panther tank! Fantastic work as always . Thanks
Lou thanks for posting another great build, and for pointing out the engine bell errors in the instructions, also with the seam marks on the tubing as my kit has the same issue. Thank you for giving us the name of the company you obtained your magnets (placed my order for my kit). Looking forward to your next build Wishing you a great December.
Good model now you need to do a 44 inch model, you can get parts from some one in Canada ( I have a few resin parts ,including a full set of aluminium engine bells ) you should look in to it and complete the set.
Amazing work! I think is time for you to buy a cam soporter, so you can use both hands. Get a forehead lamp, and change lamp with your cel. Point it down and thats it!
Great build Lou, the Eagle looks awesome! You're right about it looking better than the old 12" kit. Nice side by side comparison with your 22" Eagle. Your painting skills have again made the kit come alive. Thanks for pointing out the discrepancy in the instructions. I'm thinking of buying one of these kits especially now that I see how it should be done!! Hope your meal at your sister's house was wonderful.
@@aztekdummy hi Lou looking on cult tv man's website I didn't see these mask yet I want to get them asap I will be building this before I do my two 22" eagles by the way did you here there's another 22"eagle coming out I think it's for late spring it has the laboratory pod and booster pack for the spine. As well Looking forward to that one have to get two of them, With regard Dennis Great build
I can't tell you how many hours I spent removing mold seam lines from the tubing on my 22" Eagle. I imagine the smaller ones would be the same or even worse since the tubes are so much smaller and harder to deal with. I used those Flex-I-File frames and sanding tape that allowed you to get all around the tubes and into the corners but it was a massive pita. Otherwise the kit was nice. After saying that, the end result was a really beautiful Eagle model. But those tubes will make you insane if you want to take the mold seams out.
The windows-solar panels on the studio models' Passenger Modules had the two thin frames painted on originally, so the decals for them are pretty accurate.
Hey Lou love your great work and humour, just a fellow eagle lovers observation for . The dimple ressed areas on either side of the main cabin near the moon base alpha logos are actually chrome . . Just behind the windows . Not the top and bottom though. Just watching closely.. have you made a gunstar ? Love to see that. Thanks for sharing your skills .
2001 was on showtime this week end, watched the moon bus scene, if it wasnt for your video I would have never noticed the paint scheme,, sorry to say they dont show it much, now i need to dig out 1999 (-:
masking tip: eg; black 1st wht. 2nd paint black areas mask areas spray masks black (or initial color 1st) as bleed is almost inevitable the black bleeds on black allow to dry then spray wht. (or secondary color ) the line will be crisp regardless of contour :D cheers happy modeling and be good to each other
yes, that's what i did on the b/w areas. the red bleed came from not properly matching the textured washboard on the pod. A gloss undercoat would have helped the vinyl conform better
Man an incoming convoy distance scene would be cool with those three. Would really look like they were separated by space and distance. Hawk flying escort like a Mustang with a bomber group.
Brilliant and informative work sir, but please buy a camera tripod or tape your phone to a broom handle, anything, getting sea sick with all the motion of the camera. Great job otherwise.
Have a question , on the front and rear modules, section 9 and 10 it shows part 6 goes on one end which I take it for command front module to attach, on the other there is a similar slot , is there a part or no, very confusing which end is which
Hey Lou nice build! Question- I noticed you have painted the model in sections, when you go to do the final assembly do you use C.A., or just scrap some of the paint off to glue them together? I think that's what I find annoying about this build, painting it. Especially the cages. On my 22 inch I masked off all the areas to be glued and retouched them with paint, but its a pain and you can still see areas that were touched up. I am tempted just to use the C.A., even over the paint, but I know others have said this is a big, "no, no." Any thoughts on this approach? Thanks
I use MEK on my plastic builds. when I brush it on, it removes the paint (so no scraping needed) and then I'll touch up the paint over the joint when it has set. It's basically the same stuff as Tenax 7, but I can buy it by the gallon at the home improvement store.
Great build Lou! I just ordered my Eagle along with the Paragraphix PE set, and I think I'm going to order a set of your masks as well. I had already planned on using magnets for both the transport module and the command module (so I can show of the PE hatches). Do you recall what size magnets you used. I'm guessing 3/16" diameter X 1/8" tall should give plenty of holding power, K&J lists that size as holding 1.34 lbs. each, but is that a good physical size for this kit?
Very Nice Mr. Lou. I just got one of these for Father's Day and wanted to check your video before I proceeded. Question: Do you know of anyone yet who has made an interior for the passenger pod for this scale?

Hi,
Got the link, thanks! When do you expect to have the vinyl masks in stock for shipment?

Had to stop watching as you were explaining about the engine bell number screwup- I was getting seasick from the camera movement.

I verrrrry rarely use pure white.

I think it was best revealed in the episode in which the same cabin design was used on a tracked vehicle, actually worked If i remember

yup. and you should see how many lunar module halves are used

It looks like a nice kit. Would you suggest this one instead of the 22 inches version to a new middle aged builder?
It depends on your tolerance for tiny details. Bigger kit means bigger parts.
@@aztekdummy well, I broke down and I bought the 14" Eagle kit yesterday at the local IPMS show. Now, I am researching stuff...

there is a post #30 that goes thru the engine pipes and in that slot in the rear module

I want to say straight Tamiya orange
Wonderful work sir,
But it looks larger on camera than size suggests.
