Aww stout and standford are so precious together!❤❤❤❤
Paulie chasing the Belgian, 2 funny, I laughed my ass off, just 2 funny!!!!!!😂😅
I’m here for the farrier!! He’s worth his weight in GOLD! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Loved when the horse talked. Too funny! Thank you
I really admire your farrier. That guy has grit. Every one of those horses owe him a big Thank You Let’s Ride!
We agree!
Waiting 2 happen.
Better educate urself and start actually working on those problems.
And that bs....well there's nothing we can do for him.... sure there is...u simply don't know shit about working on ailments/injuries.
U don't even know horses that r under ur barn.
Gelding/stud....?
Standie/1/4 horse?
Age???
You're gonna get someone hurt while u stand there so duh!!!!!
Blacksmith shouldn't b doing what u should hv been doing b4 he got there.
What a shit show.
Let's stand there instead of caring and grooming.
Scared of a horse that has vices.
🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
Get some blankets on those skinny old horses...instead u leave them out in the bitterness.
🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
Shaking our heads at that poor old mare.
Your fault.
ponytailsrescue
Your vet is awesome. 😁 and so is your farrier.
Hi ! Stumbled on this channel yesterday ! Lets have a round of applause for the whole team who is very awesome, shows great horsemaship, softness and respect day after day to all the horses whatever their trauma and behaviour. You are all very beautiful souls funny, smart and sweet. Congrats for all the hard work even through the winter ! Big love from a fellow up north ! (Quebec, Canada)
I. Amazed at all your staff. My hat comes off for you all. Such good people. You have found your calling.
Oh, those two minis funny ring around the Rosie. Look how cute they are playing together.
You risk life and limb, all for the horses' benefit. Sincere admiration.
Great job folks. I watched Steve Young horsemanship video where he teaches an untouched horse to pick his feet up and willingly hold them up for you. Excellent choice as it worked wonderful on 5 of my rescues so far.
You couldn’t pay me enough to be a Ferrier, especially Paulie!!!!!
Bless your farrier! Hanging on to a draft horse like that.
Watching Paulie and the draft towards the end was like watching loony toons. That horse just couldn't be caught.
Looks like so much fun
Another amazing episode! Boy was I praying everyone was safe! 🙏🙈😅 Rescue work is so hard, there is so much patience and skill, resilience squired. And under these circumstances with the snow and cold. You all are true horse heroes!
Thank you so much!!
Such beautiful animals. It's unthinkable how people can be so cruel to them. Thank you for helping all that you do
Amazing episode! You have really some challenging ones to take care, thank you for doing so. Stay safe ❤
This is so frustrating and heart breaking to watch!! And I don't mean all you absolutely AMAZING PEOPLE doing the work of angels.... your tireless kindness and patience is so admirable. But to see how these horses were so neglected, untrained, seemingly rarely handled if ever and just not looked after at all. And the fact that the 3 unnamed black Quarter horses are that head shy.... that tells me something else was going on. I 'm worked with head shy horses and it was clearly due to abuse. A sugar cube often helped me get my Danish Warmblood/Giraffe get his bridle on...at 17'.2.5 hh! But nothing like these poor boys. I know this is a stupid question with zero answer but....WHY buy horses and let them rot and run wild in a field??? It's so cruel and makes them so vulnerable in terms of their future possibilities. Not everyone has the experience and know-how to handle such green horses like you guys and it can be extremely dangerous for people who are not capable. And tragically, I can't even imagine how many are just sent to auction and their horrific fate is sealed. 100% out of sheer neglect and or abuse. Why do people do this?? It infuriates me to no end!! Thank GAWD you get surrenders, many still want to make a few bucks.... nauseating.
I'm a life long equestrian (show jumping and FEI dressage) and die-hard horse lover. My horses were always my entire life and got the BEST treatment possible and so very loved. It shatters me to see the level of neglect and clearly abuse many of these gorgeous horses have endured... right down to basic hoof care and vet care. That's horsemanship 101!!! Non-negotiable!!! If you can't afford to take care of a horse properly, don't put one through the nightmare. Get a plant instead and try to remember to water it!!!!
I truly admire what all you guys do, I'm binge watching and getting rather emotional...ok..I'm a sobbing hot mess....seeing how terrified and confused they are. It breaks my heart! And missing my own horses, just aching to just be able to snuggle up to one right now and just shower them with love and affection. I'm battling a rare bone disease right now but I'll never lose hope that I'll one day be back in the saddle or at least adopt a rescue or 2 and spoil them rotten...in all the responsible, loving ways a good horse parent should.
Bless you guys so much!!! I wish I lived closer, I would love to volunteer and give you all a huge hug!!
Quick question, have you thought about putting rubber mats down or non-slip coating on the cement isle floor? It sure helps with the spastic outbursts and slipping! I'm always so afraid of a bad fall and seen it happen too many times. And I'm not trying to be annoying and b*tchy like I'm sure some 'know it alls' are, just an honest and sincere question out of concern and many years of experience.
Much love to you all!!
❤️❤️❤️❤️👍🙂 Best wishes from England UK 🇬🇧
That poor farrier!😂😂😂😂😂
Great episode. Your 3new horse need a lot of training so they are in the right place as ponytail will put the work in to make them good citizen's. One of the lucky ones who did not go to slaughter as family cared enough to send them to a rescue. It's been a pleasure to watch ponytails grow and see your good work.
another great video. thank you so much!
Your farrier made me think he used to be a rodeo rider the way he hangs on! As always you have been awesome and I look forward to seeing the next episode!🧡💜🧡
He is actually still a bull rider! ;-)
@@PonyTalesRefuge well I wasn't sure but it obviously helps!🧡💜🧡
Tazzy REALLY needs work in a round pen with high sides. It limits his overstimulation from everything around him... and they can't bolt and run away from whatever he thinks is scary in a round pen. I had a rescue horse like him who had learned that bolting and running away was a great way to get away from pressure. He got so bad he went through fences and onto a road and got hit. He lived... obviously .... but that only added to his list of terrifying things that made him bolt. I spent months working with him in the round pen with various equipment as we went along. They can't bolt and run away when there is nowhere to go. Eventually, we were able to work with him outside of the round pen doing the things that previously had sent him through fences. When he left... I wouldn't call him a 'safe' horse (not that there is ANY horse that should ever be referred to that way... ALL horses can spook... but he was worlds better than he was when I first took him in. Time patients, and appropriate tools/equipment and places to work with hoses are needed... and I don't see this place using them which is... odd. We made our round pen for something like 300 and that was mostly for cement for the posts and we did buy new posts rather than using older reclaimed ones. the sides were solid up to I think it was 7 or 8 feet. I can't remember at this point. It was safer for the horses. A bit of a risk for us if we can't dive under or go over... but it's a calculated risk.
What excitement on the farm! 😂 Stanford is such a clown.
Man some crazy horses there. I feel bad for that farrier. What a trooper
Ohhh stout and Standford , that was beautiful to see .. my heart was breaking for stout , and they're amazing together!! .. to happy boys 💘
Lmao the libra comments 🤣🤣🤣your farrier and the vet are the best !
When your farrier is struggling get someone else to give the a horse lick so it’s occupied.
The horse was sedated..
I just started watching your videos & I really like them. Big hearts all of you!❤
Thank you so much!
I just loved the end part! It looks like everybody including the horses. We’re having fun! Y’all do such wonderful work. Bless you and the whole Pony Tales Refuge.
It's wonderful that you are getting more comfortable with the technical side of things, I'm a follower and love seeing how the horses progress.
All I see is a hole bunch of fun and many rewards. I love getting to gentle a horse that is ether unhanded, mistreated or taught bad habits. Lots of work yes but many many rewarding days ahead ;) Rehabilitated horses are the best 🥰
They are gourges ❤
Pauly, thank you for the laughs trying to get the Belgian even if that was not your goal. Who was leading who.
So sad to see Stout upset because of the loss of Claire!!! 😓💔 Humans are just scumbags sometimes!!!😠 Hopefully he will like his new friend!!!! 🖒How odd all those horses didn't want their mouths opened!!! 😕 Makes you wonder what somebody did to them to cause the reaction?? 😔 The farrier is sure dedicated and patient!!!🐎 Taz is gorgeous!!! 😊 Glad he is doing well!!! You guys work so hard for the horses glad you had a little play time!!! Sure looked like fun!!! 🐎😄 So enjoying these videos!!! Thank you!!! 💖 Blessings to you for what you do!!! 🙏🐎💕
I really admire all of you and your passion for these majestic animals. I pray you be safe, a horse in flight mode can be very dangerous as I'm sure you know. I grew up with horses and have a deep love and appreciation for them.
Hard working bunch of folks ❤.
Ahh I loove taz he's the exact type of horse I love to work with , you can build such a forever bond with them 💙
Boy I admire you ladies with all the “wild horses”. I remember Truheyou or however you spell it and Falco
Love those black horses, but I agree they look like they have some draft in them. But that just makes me love them more. The ideal horse! Too bad they have not been treated as they deserve. Some people do indeed suck.
A great episode! Don't forget a tree makes a great snubbing post. 🤠💕
You guys are doing a great job on save ing the horse Nannette
Another great episode. The captions when the horse is speaking are great!
Thank you for the update on Stout, I'm so glad he has a new buddy, hopefully they'll settle down well together, he looked so distressed when he was on his own in the stable....🐎
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Well, first off, I like videos that show you working with the horses and also showing how you’re growing of course, but not a whole video so I think you’ve got the right thing going here with the videos,
I got really dizzy, watching the horses, go round, and round and round. Lol.
❤️🐎❤️🐎❤️🐎❤️🐎❤️🐎❤️
This is so interesting! You guys are not afraid to struggle to help a horse accept hooman help.
Wow you guys work hard!
I just love all horses, theey are all so precious!❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
That was such a great episode!
Do you have a stock you could use once you sedated the horses?
Your farrier deserves a gift certificate for a registered massage therapist.
Just adore your Doc.
Thanks for sharing another great video 💖
A stock is made for only drafts. We could certainly have attempted to get them in, but there would be too much play room.
Why not make Horse Calendars? I would purchase a few!!!
That might be a big money maker to help create awareness for your heroic work!
Have you though of playing classical music, jazz, mellow songs in the barn? It’s been known to help calm animals.
We do have music going throughout the day :)
🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎😍👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I wonder if the stallion is there stud they all have the same body type , poor boys so head shy it'd be one thing if it was one of them but all 3 🤔
I thought your video was very good! I enjoyed watching this and look forward to E4.. I went to your Amazon wish list but when I clicked on it my own personal list popped up..
We will certainly look into it! Let us know if you get it resolved on your end.
Hi Cindy, just wanted to let you know that each time I tried the link to your Amazon Wish List it took me to my Amazon Wish List. Thought you should know 😊
We see that being a problem for many people. We will try to look into it!
Poor guys. Not the same but I’ve got a feral female cat that I’ve had for 5 yrs and she still has issues that she won’t let me do. My one male cat I’ve had for 4 years and he was abused before I got him. Some mistreatment they both have never got over. It’s just horrible to hurt an animal
you need a rig like they have for draft horses, put them in it and tie up the feet to work on them
We wouldn't want to cause them anymore stress than they already had. Stocks are also made for just drafts, not average size horses. There would be too much play room had we gotten them in one anyway. Thank you though!
Thanks!
Thank you!
Atreyu is from the movie the never ending story
🙏🙌❤🌹💯
It hurt to watch you guys and the horses sliding in the barn aisles. Someone is going to get hurt bad! What can we all do to fix that? Anywhere there to pick up used matting? I know new is expensive
They certainly need more of it but textured.
The aisle concrete is textured, but when you add snowy feet to it, well, it gets slippery. We would like to get permanent matting in the barn, but for an area less than a 1/4 of the barn, it costs close to $9k. Goals!! For now, we do our best to be careful and if the horses don't pull, etc (like Stout was) there generally is not an issue.
i know how hard you try to help these horses but if the are dangerous to people people should come first, the last act of kindness might be better all along, not always welcomed but may be necessary .
I’ll go back through the episodes and look at what the problem might be with Tazzy’s mouth- especially on the left side-??😢
It is not said in previous videos what is up with Taz's mouth. We can certainly tell you though! Our vet believes it to be a boney tumor but, it does not seem to bother him. Biggest thing is to just keep an eye on it to make sure it is not getting any bigger. And it hasn't! :)
Need a horse stock to hold his feet! Would make it easier all round.
Stocks are made specifically for drafts. Even if we were able to get them into it, there would be too much play room.
Someone could engineer one for smaller horses. Are there any engineers out there
I don't know about that vet, just saying. Does he specialize in Equine? Sorry if I am wrong about the guy. Seems he tries to rush and does not let the horse(s) settle down before starting his exam. Anybody knows not to rush a scared unhandled horse.
What happened to the Belgium? Draft horses lip? And how is the lip doing?
He is currently in QT and on meds to help with pain and healing :)
You need to take it easier on your farrier. If he has to fight every horse like that, his career will be short. He will ruin his back!
Thankfully he doesn't have to!
Please watch Steve Young Horsemanship to get a better idea on working with horses, he’s on UA-cam and definitely worth the time.
Thank you for the recommendation!
So is the name Felcore
All 3 of them are! :)
After my novella below and a bit nostalgic aka weepy, I just wanted to share a condensed video montage of my amazing but at times very painful equestrian journey, especially with my last amazing FEI dressage horse. I hope it's ok to share. Although he was stunningly gorgeous, super talented and not exactly a bargain, I chose him mainly because I could tell he was being abused and wanted to rescue him and I did just that and more. We both were so happy together and formed and incredible bond. And in the time we had together, he changed my life in so many ways! I thought you would appreciate the title as well....
'A Horse Tale.' ....Much love and gratitude to you all for everything you do! You are my heroes!!
ua-cam.com/video/whLfNUuc5eE/v-deo.html
Loving your site and your stories, but hating the background music. I'd much rather hear voices and horses.
You really need to re-evaluate how your running your rescue! In this episode your farrier and your vet could have been more professional on the treatment of care. Some one really could have been hurt. This facility is not run like a business .
Its hard to treat such wild horses, maybe if the are put out you could do all the feet and a complete checkup at the same time, less stress all around. Ya'll try so hard to take care of these horses, stay safe and keep trying.
If it was a business, it would not take a draft that does not lead to the point of being dangerous and would sell all three of those head shy horses to meat buyers asap instead of trying to give them farrier care. That guy was getting the job done. So was the vet. They could use a talented trainer for sure, but it is no quick fix if difficult horse comes in.
What Cora and Jack of All Trades said! :) Thank you.
It's not a business, it's a rescue!!!...pls bear that in mind!!...these great folks are doing the best they can to give every horse a second chance...🐎
they cant really handle a horse.. speek about the black horses.. the horses dont have learned any respect for the peoples bubble space.. or they are nothing halter brocked.. the mentoring from the horse plus human socity..wher is is it!?.. you need devently a good horsemanship trainer.. 💋
You do realize these horses had only just arrived at our shelter and needed to be vetted as is? Additionally, we have trainers and handlers that did a wonderful job handling these barely handled horses to get the much needed vet and farrier work done so they can now begin learning all the things they were never taught. As far as the mentoring, none of it is about handling unhandled horses.
