We fly every year (Covid excepting) London to Sydney and stay about a month in our flat out there. For many years, my wife and I flew economy but, as we got older, we could no longer live with the economy seats (not food, not toilets, just the seats). So, we began to fly business class; usually Emirates but also Etihad and, once, China Southern (Usually A380 but, once because I flew via Perth, Boeing). We were upgraded by Emirates on one leg to First Class. A few personal observations: If you can afford it, Business Class is well worth it. Just for the seats which should be fully flat. Food is great, TV entertainment is fine. The individual seats are quite private. First class. We got the same kind of seat but in a cubicle the same size as BC but with a sliding door. Food the same but you can choose the times. TV is bigger; you can have a shower on board if you want. Frankly, we wouldn’t pay to go FC. The extra cost isn’t justified for us. The last time - before Covid - our agent came back with the cost for Emirates - it had gone up an awful lot. So we said, if Emirates/Etihad/Singapore are top of the Premier League, who are still Premier League but lower down. He came back with a couple of choices and we selected China Southern Airlines. Saved £1500? Again, our thoughts - no chauffeur collection and delivery both ends. With the money we saved, we could easily organise private taxis - lounges. Not bad - say 90% of Emirates - but certainly no complaints - seats - as per Emirates/Etihad etc. - food - Excellent. More Chinese dishes, but Emirates/Etihad obviously have Arabian dishes on offer - service - perhaps better than Emirates Lessons for us. BC is all we need; don’t think that you have to fly Emirates/Etihad/ Singapore etc. to get what we need. Back in the EC days, we flew BA and Qantas several times. It pains me to say but those flights were the worst that we ever had. We’ve never even considered those two again. Does being a national carrier encourage complacency?
I flew first class from Atlanta to Detroit. Fresh out of basic training heading home on leave. The stewardess seen me and my friend in our class A uniforms and brought us back up to the front of the plane and said you two can sit here. It was a good feeling. The food is so much better there. Free drinks too.

LAX is getting crazy crowded again! Love that walking tunnel to the new terminal. The Emirates lounge in LAX is much nicer than other lounges. First class service was excellent

I’ve flown this flight numerous times - always in 2K. The first row is right next to the curtains separating the 2 fabulous shower suites and can feel confining because of the curvature of the aircraft (which can really be noticed in the shower suite just in front of 1A and 1K feet). Change into pajamas before late afternoon departure and enjoy a glass of Dom before take off. It is a long flight (the one going the other way actually takes longer, I think) but there’s a lot to eat, drink, and watch movies. If I’ve had a couple drinks of Hennessy Paradis, I might wander back to the lounge at the rear of the plane and chat with other passengers (the assigned flight attendant brings my Hennessy bottle back to the bartender). Then back to watch a film and sleep for 7-8 hours. Wake up, shower, have the ‘post-shower’ rejuvenating fruit thing and then breakfast before landing. Then on to the F lounge in Terminal 3. It is a definitely a super way to start a vacation! Just one respectful piece of cultural advice. In the Arab world, it is important to accept something with one’s right hand. Never the left. The offer of coffee is always with the right hand and accepted by the right hand. Same when giving the cup back to the server - right hand. Nice video as usual, Sam! Arriving in Dubai at 7 in the evening and 36C humid degrees is very warm!
I was lucky enough to fly this route in first pre-covid having upgraded with miles. The only downside was that it was after 6 days in Vegas with virtually no sleep, so I slept for about 12 hours of the flight, but it does tell you just how comfortable the bed is!

It’s also called as the law of diminishing returns. I think you might know that
My employer lets me travel, 13 times every year and I make sure I can get first class as many times as I can…..This year I travelled like 5x. 3 in first class and 2 business class
You really give the viewer the feeling of being part of the experience. Awesome video as always!
I just spent a chunk of my savings to experience Emirates A380 1st myself from london to Sydney and it was amazing. Nothing was underwhelming about the experience. The classy Chauffeur either side of the journey was just the icing on the cake and ensured absolutely no part of the entire journey was not relaxing. I probably drunk several hundred pounds worth of alcohol im sure! Door to door luxury with emirates and a life long bucket list ticked!
Can i ask you what you pay for it?
Dang i dont think thats a wise spending lmao
@@salmonie depends on what you prioritize in life
Dayum that’s some fine pampering. Think I’d just like to fly back and fourth just for being pampered all the way
This is so nice to see!! A380 is back!! Awesome!! Hope to fly soon, once this aircraft is the only one I travel comfortably!! Thanks for your so encouraging video, Sam!! 🤟🏽
Ahhh, loved seeing the improvements made to my hometown airport, LAX! Much of the construction happening there is for the new train going into there which is exciting as it’ll connect to the Metro.
Yes, can't wait to see when all the construction finishes. LAX has to live up among all the competitions.
@@SamChui agreed! Great video btw.
omg i still have some trauma from the one time i had to call an uber at lax... i'm so happy to hear there will be proper public transport access soon, that's awesome.
Loved this! Brought back memories of my last first class flights on Emirates. Will be doing the same route LAX - DXB hopefully sometime next year and can't wait. Thanks Sam!
LAX is getting crazy crowded again! Love that walking tunnel to the new terminal. The Emirates lounge in LAX is much nicer than other lounges. First class service was excellent
He is always really lovely & respectful to the staff.
Amazing report Sam…really enjoyed 🥰🥰🥰
Oh! After a long time!! This type of vlog is giving us hope that we are heading to our normal life again.....
Thanks, Sam.
Another great video Sam, more than anything though it was great to see the airport looking more like an airport again and less like an abandoned plane hangar. Hopefully ill be back flying again next year after cancelling out holiday twice already, London Gatwick to Mauritius with British Airways in Business Class, cant wait!
You're so polite to everyone. You truly would be the best customer for anyone to attend to.
I flew this LAX - DXB many times on EK - Economy... I still have no complaints... Just LOVE Emirates.... No flight will ever match the A380.... Gonna Miss Her so much.
Amazing to see that everything is getting back to normal! Very nice experience to travel in first class with such a plane!! I wish I could fly like you Sam soon!!
Normal? It looked like a goddamn flying hospital. What a disgrace.
What an experience, Sam. That flight is a 'dream'
6:36 Whenever I look at take off of a plane it saddens me. As a kid I wanted to experience an aeroplane journey and used to dream of experiencing a take off. But I never sat on a plane until I was 24 years old. I just grew out of that dream. Though I enjoyed the take off I was disappointed the younger me couldn't enjoy that experience.
My father worked in PIA whereas am in education department i watch alsmot all ur videos ... The why you explain your journey is very impressive ... Hod bless u
Good to see luxury making its way back to the world!
DITTO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish to be a frequent flyer so that crews will recognize me everytime just like Sam 😊😌
This was my last flight precovid last January on Emirates... took the exact same flight ✈️ and even saw the Northern lights on this flight... so nostalgic watching this 😊 thanks for sharing Sam.
Can I borrow $100

Sam’s content is just such good quality, it’s outstanding! Keep up the amazing videos!
really? its getting worse i think...
That's our lovely South African sister. Thanks for sharing your video, really enjoyed 😉.
One of my favorite videos! All the staff are so nice!
Loved that funny little intro!
Thank you. Took our editor 2 days to make it!
Sam, you allways find the way to make us enjoy your flights with you instead of only envy your lucky work. Thanks for all the humanity sense you share.
It's literally like being a king! Maybe once in my life I'll fly Emirates first class. Maybe... If I can afford it one day. Looks amazing!!!
I’ve had to “rough it” in business class Dallas to Dubai. I can only imagine how nice First Class is.
Crew and pilots are always showing most respect for first class, but still, I like when you're doing trip reports Sam) Nice video!
It’s really good to see the A380 flying again… what an aircraft!
Definitely
@Elias Boudinot what about Remdisivir?
It was splendid but without my family, i will always feel that some fun is missing!
I can only dream of flying first class. I only get to experience it by watching your amazing videos. Awesomeness!
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs
God bless you sam.. I see love in this video. ❤️
There's no denying it, the A380 is an iconic aircraft.
Sam: make me a mock-tail
Bartender: yeah, true
😆
I didn’t hear him properly!! 🙄 🤣
I just looked it up and it costs £10,000-16,000 for a return trip 😱 looks amazing but you'd expect it to be for that!
I love his editing. Good job Chui Team. Fly High brother!
Your videos are amazing! The background musics chosen really suit the moment and make the video more beautiful & emotional. Keep up the good work!
15:47 The best part of this video ! Love from Bangladesh . Your all videos are calming and enjoyable .
When are you going to fly on Biman Bangladesh airlines again . Sam is the best !!
@@alanarimurti9322 hello bro
Wow, I’ve always loved airplane meals, I can have it bottomless if my carriers permitted. If I ever fly emirates first, you’ll know who cleaned out the kitchen!!
When Sam enters an A380 it feels like he's going back to his home. 😂
Yeah a380 is the best plane ever
Forget first class, I just want to fly on this plane period before it's gone lol
My god,.Dubai looked beautiful on your landing. Everything looks so clean and sanitary. Good people.
15:41 Welcome to Dubai airport 😂😂
This is the originality of dubai airport 😂
I wish everything can be back to normal soon. I miss 2019 so much!
Yeah I remember when going to airports we're exiting to go see airplanes take off, and not worrying about death inducing diseases haha!!

Flew Emirates from Melbourne to Manchester,UK in 2018 in economy on A380..fantastic service,if we ever get out of lockdown here, will definitely be booking Emirates again. Thank you Sam for giving us a great look at Emirates First Class..we can only dream haha.
It's 5:28 in MD and I'm working, came across your video and really enjoyed it.Just subscribed to your channel.
Same here, always 2K!
It’s nice to see a fellow South African woman working in first class on a major airline. You go girl !!!
I was lucky enough to fly this route in first pre-covid having upgraded with miles. The only downside was that it was after 6 days in Vegas with virtually no sleep, so I slept for about 12 hours of the flight, but it does tell you just how comfortable the bed is!
6 days in vegas without sleep u had a great holliday. Lots of stories to tell 🤫 🥴
This aviation channel is so good and also a great promo for emirates, better than their own
I love these vibes this guy gives off
Bank: how much money do you want?
Sam: yes
He uses miles
@@angus_m and half of his flights are free and sponsored by the airline
@@Adam-ob4xz Yes that too
