Former Boeing here... have been in 747 from pile of parts to final cert. Always amazing to see how big it is with no interior panels, carpets, or seats. During construction, the elevated catwalks form perfect contours of fuselage. There is maybe 1 inch clearance. Workers can move about without fear of falling through the cracks. Never been inside an A380 yet, but hope to before they are all retired.
Such an incredible behind-the-scenes video this. The scale of just getting an A380 ready is insane! The number of engineers and plane parts needed is mind-blowing.
Thank you for showing the operation and people who keep the public flying safely. Having worked in aviation maintenance I enjoy it when people like you show all the hard work that goes into the job (though most of us don’t consider it work. We love it to much for it to be work.) Next time please show the looks on the workers faces when the airplane goes for its post maintenance test flight and talk to them as the airplane gets ready to take off. I know I have stayed at work after my shift to watch a few airplanes or helicopters go for the test flight. It’s the joy of working in aviation. Also my friends and family will tell you it’s one of the only times I truly smile.
Beautiful, insightful & reassuring. I never realised airlines quite literally stripped these birds right down to their bare backsides and then put 'em all back together again. That's dedication to maintenance & safety right there.

Sam, you’ve really outdone yourself! I remember congratulating you on the first A380 flight, and you were on it.
