World’s Best First Class? Air France La Premiere

- I flew Air France from Nice to Dubai. During online check-in I decided to upgrade my ticket from Business Class to La Premiere, which is Air France's very exclusive First Class.
I was escorted to the plane by an Air France agent in Nice. After a non-eventful one-hour domestic flight, I arrived at Paris CDG where I was met by my personal escort and a limo to the Air France Salon La Premiere (lounge). I enjoyed some of the great French food and drink there before I headed off for my next flight to Dubai.
The Air France Paris to Dubai flight was a B777-300/ER. I was fortunate enough to be the only passenger in La Premiere. Take a look at the understated luxury design and elegance of the cabin. Combine with great French gastronomy and La Premiere remains one of my favourite all-time First-Class experiences. During the video, I also reveal the best way to fly in La Premiere.
I would put Air France, among Emirates, Singapore Airlines, ANA and Lufthansa among my top 5 First Class experience. Have you traveled in Air France La Premiere? What are your thoughts? I hope you find the tip of getting a last-minute buy upgrade useful to fly on this product. OK before you think airline pay me to say great things, think twice! Being last to board makes so much sense. Surprised other airlines haven’t taken notice (at least for long haul flights) why would you wait to sit and wait 30+ mins when you could have more time in the lounge
When you are disabled(like me) in CDG they bring us in with a special hydraulic lift/carrier before everyone. It's quite a weird experience lol

I like the classic luxury design without the gold and the no-frills, no-fuss retro style of that first class cabin. It looks far more relaxing than many of its multiple screen shiny competitors from UAE or Asia.

Air France La Premiere is definetely one of the best first class. I love the interior design especially the curtain and the lamp. It feels soft like in our comfort bedroom.

I flew coach on Air France from Paris to Detroit a few years ago and it was the best coach flight I've ever taken. Two excellent meals, great flight attendants.

"Understated luxury and design" Yes, the French do have great taste. Very classy. I flew on AF 747 (economy) from Montreal to Paris, and from Paris to Toronto, and they are still very memorable flights, many years later. I am envious, Sam. Thank you for another beautiful video 👍

by the way i've got the luxury as them to be used to this great comfort(both we got this for cheap price)...trust me is the first thing you miss for example in USA.
for us great food is cheap and we eat it daily, we both live in amazing lands...we admire each other, that's it.

I love the cabin decor. The gold and bling of other airlines may be to be the taste of some markets, but not mine.

Air France has a long lasting history in air transport and I can remember my first flights from Sao Paulo to Paris in the 60' on board a 707. Always appreciated the smile and service of the crew, even in domestic flights. Great video Sam and thank for the upgrade!
Also they were one of the first to offer Hagen-Dazs at Economy galley after dinner service during Rio-Paris route!

So happy to see this! I was an Air France La Premiere agent shortly before I gave birth to my only son. La Premiere ground staff (like the Tunisian agent who escorted you) undergo rigorous training to meet Air France standards of service. ☺️
I have to say that whole experience looked amazing but huge merits to that ground staff member with you in CDG, she was very polite and genuinely friendly which is something you don't often find among premium cabins
Don't expect the same with others, look who was travelling here...haha...

My one experience with CDG, I was flying coach on Air France and changing planes. I was very, very heavy at the time, and the staff were so eager to help me make my transfer in time, and so ridiculously helpful!
As a new French citizen I’m very proud of our national airline! They have worked very hard to improve the quality of their service.

Sam, I used to work as cabin crew but I really appreicate that you always give a warm video with cabin crew during the trip. I have been fortunate enough to fly La Premiere twice from Paris to NY. I caught specials both times and payed LESS that business class. Only thing missed here (since he didn’t originate in Paris and likely not a long enough layover) is the escort upon arrival in CDG thru security ti the lounge, the complimentary facial or massage, and the private jet bridge on the A380 into the La Premiere cabin. Truly one of the most amazing flying experience ever. And I had a few minor sked changes on my journey and Air France truly went above and beyond to compensate me for my “inconvenience”. Seriously one of the best flying experiences ever!

Air France is doing the best they can do. I kept flying with them during pandemic and they keep their standard. They did not try to cut corners nor lowered their service. Instead they modernised their fleet to save on fuel (sold their A380s and bought A350s and B787s) and saved money by closing pos in high real estate areas. They did what other airlines should have been doing.

My sister has always been a straight Air France flyer. She had persuaded me to try out their first class suite and I did not regret flying with them. Their cabin crew are sooo nice and they treat you like you are of royalty😍❤️

Try working in a french supermarket as a retail clerk, and see how people treat you. This country doesn’t respect people, they are only friendly to you because you are spending thousands with them. Or try going to a french government office in Paris for paperwork and see how they treat people
@@alexandertraveler510 Yeah, I get that. I actually encountered some rude people during my one month stay in Paris. But during my stay in Lourdes I met lots of nice people I guess. But I don't think they are much rude people as to where I live here in LA.

Have flown Air France for years, especially the old flight from Paris to Montreal and then continuing on another hour to Chicago...great way to get to Chicago from Paris and always great food in Business Class. Flew first several times when upgraded, fabuous!

@@erwinsaputra3645 That my friend, isn't disrespect, but french culture. If you genuinely think someone is mistaken and even if you work in service you will point it out, because it is considered rude to leave someone in the wrong.
On the awkwardness level, the American guy filming himself and speaking to a camera can feel uncomfortable and rude to the people working for you as you're ignoring their presence to speak to an inanimate object. Filming yourself and having a big and loud sense of self is also not very well perceived.
Try to understand things from a different perspective when tackling a different culture.

The Company knows someone with 2.7 million followers is coming onboard and most of those followers are aviation fans. Its almost like an inspection at school or a restaurant having a hygiene check

La Premiere does seem like an amazing service, ignoring the enormous price tag attached to it of course

I thought the La Premiere lounge at CDG was incredible. Food was amazing. I had the same pasta dish as you. I love that they have a car that directly takes F pax directly from airplane to the lounge. I remember there was a metal screening machine before you take an elevator up to the lounge. I was the only person so there was no wait time (maybe BA F should copy La Premiere. This is how first class is done). Very civilized! While I like Emirate A380 better in terms of sleeping quality as well as shower, La Premiere lounge experience is infinitely better than Emirates' or Etihad's.
Cool.. the package includes also a greeting by the pilot. He literally leaves his preflight procedures, leaves his cockpit in order to say hello to you! I wouldn't mind more for that!

I love Air France! First Class experience exceeds USA airlines in every category. CDG was easy with assistance. Great food and the sleep was so helpful- Overnight from Houston to Paris.
Incredible luxury and service. They'll probably wake you up even if you oversleep in the lounge. VIP treatment.

Trying to upgrade with for example KLM is a lot of computer/paper work at a specific desk.

Yes, I was glad to see the offer. Just to add my 2 cents, the catering on Air France is definitely better from Paris homebase, so when you consider an upgrade, outbound from Paris may weight the decision a little more.

Ok, I'm half French (and German) so probably not neutral, but I definitely think the cabin looks like a living room, like 'home', and the curtain, the lamp and bedlinen turn the seat into a cozy bedroom. The same counts for the dedicated area at the airport, it also looks comfortable. We Frenchies love our comforts and put more $ into good food and wine than into glittery-shiny things...( and I agree with the lady driving you at the airport CDG, it is a messy one...well, nothing's perfect in this world unfortunately ). @@dubai9933 the signage is not great, people usually struggle to find their way. Hence the car pick up. Mind you I usually travel via Heathrow and it’s no great either.
@@elisemcuk9808 I agree with you on Heathrow. I don't know why the terminals are not connected, so one can easily commute from one to another by walking or taking a lift or an internal airport train. I almost missed by flight as I had gone to a wrong terminal. I had to come out and take a taxi, which was very expensive...
I love you Sam, but when you taste wine, try to follow this tip: make sure you leave a few seconds after your tasting and your opinion of the wine.
