    Look, the concept of a back to front car doesn't appeal to me personally, but come on, that finish just can't be beat! This car deserves every award it gets. Well done, and thanks for the episode Howard and Dale, I've been looking forward to seeing this, even as a Ford fan.

    Possibly the most unique and original concept car ever built on this planet. Simply mind-blowing.

    That was a long one, but I enjoy as much detail as you can give. I can see why the car is a bit divisive, but at the end of the day as long as the owner loves it that's the main thing. The work that went into it was pretty epic. Adam is lucky to have someone like Kylie, not too many chicks would roll their sleeves up and get stuck in, and everything she did was pretty mint.

    This was worth watching even though I was following the build on Facebook. Many things I remembered. Many I forgot and many I didn't know. When it was getting built I was pissed off at those who didn't see what was happening and how much effort went into Tailspin but were ripping into it. Of course those are the kind of people who would have never picked up a tool let a lone work on a car themselves. The great thing about this build was the Adam and Kylie. No egos or pretences. Straight up nice and genuine people. When Tailspin didn't start for the top 3 at SummerNats I was shattered for them. Best build series video.

    The best thing about building your own custom show car is that you get to build what you like and what you want. The trophies prove they aren’t the only ones. Great story. Watching the build there must have been every emotion experienced at some point. Daily probably. Credit to kylie and Adam for having a shot at the title and taking the win

    I love Tail Spin for the simple reason,
    "Its somebody's dream turned into reality".
    The concept and research the owners done for the build is 1st class.
    2 thumbs up in every way.

    Great video gents. An incredible car. It's clearly polarising but it gets everyone to talking. The engineering and body work is simply superb.

    Loved that car when I seen it at a show can’t remember when , I love my holdens but I don’t look at it like that my dad was a patten maker for Holden, he loved it pointing out how well it was done

    Absolutely sensational Howard, I looked at the length of the vid and thought I had misread it, and then contemplated watching it in stages, but couldn't stop. Awesome work by yourself, Kyle, Adam and the rest of the crew. I live in the west and really have missed out on a lot of this area of car enthusiasts. Gunna start planning to get over there for a few shows. Again best vid love your work.

    I’ve seen a bit of this car in SM
    But seeing the behind the scenes of what’s gone into the build is mind boggling. So good to see someone other than a bloke cutting and welding too 👌

    While it's not my cup of tea personally, but I can respect the effort and ingenuity that went into the build. And common sense on the driveline choice too, you can either have a cruiser or an 8 second racecar, but not both.

    Mate massive props to all involved in building this one off car, and finish is top notch, its not something i would do as i think the side profile is not quite rite, but hey its not my car.

    I actually like the car and appreciate the huge amount of hours involved and the superb quality of finish. The interior is stunning! If I were to change one aspect of the car it would be higher wheel arches and bigger wheels.

    Amazing amount of work! It's a car that did ruffle some feathers! I like the concept, but i think the front end is too high and straight to match the body line. If the front guards sloped down a bit towards the front, the angles would be more streamlined. But hey each to their own! Great to see the car still gets used and not locked up collecting dust..

    • @AstillDesign

      I think there was a lot that could have been done if we were coach builders, but we weren't so the stock panel shapes had to be utilised

    Mate the work and time put into this is amazing definitely not my cup of tea think it looks wrong but that’s because my mother owned one and grew up with old Holden’s Ford and valiants so modifying one to the way this was just don’t seem right but each to there own we all have different tastes being a mechanic and spray painter by trade I can see the time effort and love that has gone into it amazing car all around winner well done but god it’s ugly 🤣

    Hey Howard, currently prepping to build my vk into a show car in NZ, what’s your process for die grinding cast parts? I was thinking carbide burr bits then sanding drums but wanted to see what you do 😁

    • @AstillDesign
      @AstillDesign  Рік тому +1

      Do all the heavy shaping with 40 and 60 grit on 4" flapper and small belt sander, I then would use paper rolled up on a shaft that I have shown in some of the episodes, The burr bits are OK but super noisy and tend to chatter a lot

    yeah nah. As per some of the other comments, i can appreciate the work into it, but for less work then they could have something else. Not a fan of the normal shape let alone backwards. Not a fan of the colour either. Kylie's articulate and seems to know her stuff, and i'm envious of the skillz.

    The reason this car caused controversy at the time and lost respect was the perry's constant mistruth on the build details. They were telling everyone they built it by themselves in their shed as some kind of hardluck rag to riches bulldust. We all knew that wasn't true. Credit was never given to those involved by the perrys at the time. It was always about them. Harsh but true. As time goes by they realise they can't do it themselves so they are slowly telling the truth. No respect. 👎

    • @AstillDesign
      @AstillDesign  Рік тому +1

      Not sure about that Paul. We created the Facebook page for the build very early and outlined my involvement. It was also highly publicised by street machine magazine my involvement and PPG’s.

      Dale get a new shirt each episode if he's lucky. lol
      The yard is doing OK, didn't think there was that much interest so its been on the back burner from a video point a view.
