Gentlemen, a heartfelt thank you to you both. What you present is a window into the quality, compassion and dedication to your craft. The image of the band-aid covered fingers a not so subtle sign of what you will do to satisfy your own endeavour. These build series show so much more than the vehicles, it shows friendship and family and a peek into the world of who you are as a person. I feel privileged to get to watch your creations and the further chapters of your life. Truly inspirational and for those of us that watch this, reckon we are witness to some of the best content on you tube. Brilliant on so many levels. Thank you.
Thanks Darren for the kind words, Its not a hobby its a way of life.
So much work has been put into these builds and the cars show it. Top work.
Cheers mate
Hey Howard
Absolutely loving the build series, just a great insight into all the cars I’ve followed over the years.
Cheers Matt

These build videos just keep on getting better. Thanks for taking the time to piece this all together.

As a Mustang tragic, this is by far my favourite of all the cars. What a machine.
Thanks Paul

Amazing use of colors... especially the much needed change to the wheels. The engines not too shabby either lol. Oh did i mention how cool the dash is.........................................................
Thanks Mark, will be a timeless car
"It's not a show car"🤔🤷♂️
I think I heard that line 7 times🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Always getting ideas from you.... and nice to see Dale getting through thus one😉
Yeah I know, got a bit carried away on the driver
Dale, your quick side gags throughout this build series and the bio have been friggin gold. "XXXX already taken" right as I was having a swig and now you owe me a beer 😁 cheers boys

I love these videos.
I grew up on Street Machine mag and Adelaide hot rod/street machine shows. Seeing one of the Astill Falcons was always exciting.
Thanks for all your hard work Howard 👍
Cheers mate, has been a great journey
I just bought a 1966 289 three speed stick shift convertible…loving it, just put new springs on it , needs a re spray but apart from that everything according to paperwork all genuine..

Thanks Howard
Our pleasure
amazing craftsmanship
thanks for sharing
Thank you very much!
Hmmmmmmmmm..... Kinda makes me want to strip mine down and go nuts with the mig... It would be 1000 times stiffer than a factory one with the seam and stitch welding you did, it would be interesting to do that and compare before/after drives without the full RRS treatment... Also, makes me wonder, with all that stitch welding, would the B pillar brace I'm thinking about be necessary... Great video, lots to think over. I definitely need to do the strut brace or "Monrcarlo Bar" and see what that does to the front end in corners... Probably worth having a discussion with an engineer that knows their stuff I suppose...
As always, a privilege to be able to see how you do what you do and learn from it for my projects!
Hi, do some research on what Shelby did with the mustang road cars in the late 60’s
Pretty nice for a road car! That thing probably put some of the trailer queens to shame at shows.
Yeah it certainly did Ok
Another great video Howard, are you going to document the build up of the panel van after Boss XC?
Hi Chris, I would think so. Maybe not so regimental with the time lines
Your investment in time, effort and dollars to complete these cars is evident. I have trouble in understanding how you come to terms with parting with them. When my limited edition Brock Commodore was stolen it was gut wrenching and my current rotary is death to we part.
Hi, I see the hours and money as my training for the sport that I compete in. No different to a sports person spending the hours and dollars to train for there sport. I have always built them knowing they would be moved on when I was done.
Really loving these vids Howard, is there any merch with the pioneer colours on the coupe?
go onto www.astilldesign.com their is a shirt and some of the original posters still available that I had hoarded away. Cheers H
Wow. That undercarriage ❤ beautiful car mate
Thanks Toddy
Great work, but how the blazes do you do all this bare metal work with not one sign of surface rust anywhere ?
A few things, Broken Hill is very dry.
My workshop is insulated and lined so no frost or dew on the surfaces. Plus I use dioxidine to treat the metal as I go.
Lastly only handle the metal when you need to.
G'day Howard, wanted to ask whether you just folded the rear wheel tub seam for aesthetics or did you gain any tyre room. And what size tyre did you end up with? Thanks
Mostly for the look and cleaning. By memory it was 245 18
@@AstillDesign Thanks Howard, i think its great that you actually reply to people unlike many youtubers. Well i did see in a pic that you managed a 265/45 in a federal super steel, a nice looking tyre too, tucked in quite nice, but as i am in the dillemma of widening the inner on mine without going into the rail, i am thinking that when you realised that you can only get a 235 at best in an 18 to sit nicely , something else happenned, and you went through the same dillemma i am in and you did something else??.
Yeah i had the lips knocked up real tight as well
What brand were the original alloys?
They were intro, one off design
Still got the car?
Nah moved it on about 5 years ago. Have an XC panel van waiting to be be done
Who was the guy that did the HQ Holden with Mustang front and back on it? They reckon people don't get much passionate about cars, but these guys were getting death threats, people driving past their house at all hours and all - all for a car that was put together from spare parts for a laugh..Apparently it got sold anonymously and buried and no one has seen it since - the guy was glad to wash his hands of it too
Don't know that I seen that one
I thought that was a Kiwi car
