Oh man. The DC-3 with D-Day stripes, the flatheads, and that background scenery with the mountains. How cool is this?! I wish we had more of this where I am on the east coast. Looks like a blast!!
There was a DC3 and a C47 in this one, the silver one is the DC3, the green/olive one is the C47, essentially the same plane but one is military. What surprised me was the Bearcat doing the flyby. Watching the Stearmans flying Vics is sweet.
Your content is so high quality and unique! Not many UA-camrs post about period correct and vintage cars and your channel has a whole vintage vibe that I just love. Please never change!
Killer footage! Hopefully, the days of great events like this will never end. I'm sure the legendary rodders like your Grandpa never thought what they did would inspire the generations of today to be doing it either. Keep documenting it, though. Your talent and gifts are a part of keeping it going, too!!!
Great Job as usual Ben! Love seeing these videos, not only are they great but you give the event exposure for better attendance which is key to keep our community strong!
Hey Ben awesome video! Have you ever thought about doing a piece of old-timer's giving advice to the new hot rodding generation? What their concerns are and advice? I don't think there's many young people into older cars these days and would love to see what people have to say. Cheers!
That's a great idea! Hot rodding is a dying art for sure. Especially metalwork, fab, paint and body, etc. I love building and modifying hot rods. I'm not that young, but I just turned 40. I do everything but paint and body. None of my friends my age or younger have the patience for it anymore. The ones that used to be into it have given up:( I have to mention that there are some real "pieces of work" here where I live in the south/east coast who do people very wrong with paint/body. It surely doesn't help recruit new guys and gals to the hobby.
A lot of those scenes looked like bits of technicolor film from the 50s with the saturated colors, the eyelevel camera angles and period clothes and cars. Way neat
That is some great documentation for the kids of the future Ben.. the only thing keeping guys your age out of hotrods like that is because the old guys with money have driven the cost of them up. Just like the boomers did with muscle cars when I was your age, didn't stop me from getting some ratty GTOs and Trans Ams. Sure a nice one brings lots of money, but even now the really rough ones can be had for cheap. You just have to rebuild it, like they did with roadsters before and right after the war. It was the junk nobody else wanted that they built. I got my pre war hotrod too.. 1932 Pontiac two door sedan.. its VERY rough but most of the body is there. Traded a very rusty 64 Fairlane 500 and a non running 74 F150 for it. Will be dragging it into my shop later this year, but I need to get the Mustang and Cutlass done.

How strict are the rules? Can I show up to race in a '34 with '58 engine?
Me need info.
That was funny, the part with the sunscreen. You reminded me of that character from the film "The Island of Doctor Maroe".

Yes, so cool!
I think they do one on Daytona beach every once in a while

Great editing, cool soundtrack, you know when to stop the music to let the sound of engines kick in. The best video of this event I have seen so far.

Hot rods are what life is 4. Period.

Its only a death trap if it holds you in. Otherwise, its a death catapult
Haha!
EPA will shut it down. Sad.
It's up to your generation to keep it going. You don't need an LS, ECUs, turbos, and Hondas.
✌👍
Thanks!
flag man looked good until he covered his ears!!! haha
Any one here in 1932
Music is NOT necessary. Those engines are the music.
This place probably smells 100 times bad then austin lone star round up
Sans la music sa serait mieux
NO! Hot Rods are NOT death traps. Stop lying.
PERFECT VIDEO FOR ME!💥💪
